1) Queens of Stone Age also contributed to their lyrics. 2) This guy hasn't had a gf since 2008, yet they con't to sing about love. 3) He's only 9 months older than Chris Martin (Coldplay) but looks like he's at least 9 yrs older than Chris. 4) Unlike uplifting Coldplay, SP is such a downer. #pass 5) This interview feels forced. As a songwriter, Gary Lightbody at his best is untouchable, and im not talking about the BIG songs like Chasing cars; some of my favourite SP songs have been the deep-cut album tracks and B-sides, which are truly stunning songs. There are individual Coldplay songs I like, but Id far rather listen to Snow Patrol, and have gotten more meaning and enjoyment from their albums, than i ever really have from Coldplay albums. Also, not that Gary needs any kind of defending on this, but he hasnt been in a relationship since around 2014, not 2008, and the reason for that has largely been his own mental health struggles, which he has talked about more in recent years, so he can choose to write about whatever the hell he wants, however he wants to write about it, and I trust him to write beautiful songs with beautiful lyrics regardless of subject matter. As for QOTSA contributing lyrics, well 'contributing' does not mean writing entire songs for them, and it might only be on a couple of songs, and Gary has co-written songs for plenty of bands and artists over the years too.
@@raspberryripple88 I like early Coldplay. After the 3rd they are awful. I doubt Moon Music the new Coldplay album which is out next month will not be any good. I think it's the producer is the problem. Max Martin. If they choose James ford instead of him and will be work out fine

Coldplay are more overrated. Snow patrol are underrated.
