  • I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka, a 5 star luxury hotel in Fukuoka, Japan for 2 nights in their Deluxe Twin Room. The Deluxe Twin room is spacious (especially for Japan).
I appreciated the adequate space for storing your luggage in their walk-in closet and the small "couch" at the foot of the beds which allowed for rest without getting the beds dirty from outside clothes. The hotel itself is undergoing renovation, so there is a chance that the rooms will be renovated in the next couple years as they are definitely showing their age. Everything is maintained well though, and with such a great location, I definitely enjoyed my stay at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka.

What is the difference between Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt?

      Hi Nathaniel,
Park Hyatts are the Hyatt group's flagship hotel chain, focusing on personalized service, luxury accommodations, and world-class amenities. They are more rare and more expensive than Grand Hyatts. They also compete with other 5-star brands belonging to the Marriott/Hilton hotel chains such as Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Waldorf-Astoria. Some of the best Park Hyatts in the world compete with top tier properties like Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental.
Grand Hyatts, on the other hand, are large luxury hotels often with hundreds of rooms, which in turn provides less personalized service. They are what you would consider 4.5 star hotels, competing with Conrad, and JW Marriott.
Both are great hotel brands that serve different needs. Hope that helps :D
