I went to mass once before my best friend took me to adoration for the first time. Coming from a Protestant background, I absolutely love it. It’s like nothing I have experienced before. My friend almost had to drag me out of the pew after almost two hours passed. I practically begged for her to take me back to mass and adoration. It took her months to get me into a Catholic Church, and now I hardly want to leave.
After my grandpa died, my dad and I would take turns going to his hour slot for Adoration at our local parish (which was from 2am-3am every week). It was so tough honestly to muster the strength to go and sometimes it was easy to be restless once there. To me it really speaks volumes to the faith of my grandpa to be doing this in his 80s and who also was very successful in life and the blessings that I get to enjoy from the seeds that he planted during his life.
I converted to Catholicism about 4 1/2 years ago, but did not even know what Adoration was until last year. I signed up for the weekly holy hour. It was pure torture hour for the first 8-9 months. My legs would get restless, time would drag, I would get extremely sleepy. Then, I started listening to worship music during the hour with my earphones on. Maybe it is not okay to do that, but that's what I was doing and slowly it changed for me. Now, by mid-week I am looking forward to my hour with Jesus on the weekend!
Search for a book on Adoration by Vinnie Flynn. It’s a great guide and humorous too. About the sleeping... if you sleep, so what? Christ is our best friend, God The Father and The Holy Spirit are also présent at Adoration, which father, if you said “ I just want to spend time with you but I am sleepy, can I still be with you?” Would turn their child away?
I went to Holy Hour yesterday, and I had a conversation with Him because He was sitting right next to me. So grateful for these videos. I feel like you know exactly what we need. Thank you Jesus! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
We have adoration a half hour before daily mass. My little heart is just so joyful to be in His presence. We sing O Salutaris Hostia which just immediately brings me in aliment with His Holy presence. Just beautiful. I always give thanks for the privilege of having the freedom to worship Him. It truly is a sacred time. There is no safer place for me than in His whole presence body, blood and divinity.
Thank you for having Mother Clare on. At first I didn’t want to share your short time with us, but now I realize how much she brings to the program and together we all benefit more.
I keep asking God to talk to me and guide me, but most of the times I don't listen, because, for some reason, I don't think He will. Maybe I think He doesn't want to, or that He only will when He think it is important, and than, I always think that is not important, that it is my responsibility and that He is going to let me be with my problems because it is "my task" that He gave me... Now I see that the biggest problem is me, because, when I think that way, I don't even expect or wait for Him to answer... I ask Him His opinion, or whatever, and go away feeling miserable, not giving Him time to speak to me. Great realization for today...
Don't forget to advise fellow Adorers to be as reverent and respectful as possible❣️❣️ I LOVE journaling (sharing my heart with God) during my holy hour to get the whirlwind of thoughts to settle down -- wisdom comes through this. 🙏🏻🙏🏼

Thank you for the teaching on prayer. I am retired now and have all kinds of time to stay in prayer. I used to make holy hours frequently being retired and somewhat homebound and I always thought distractions were because of my busy schedule. I still think of what I have to do as soon as I sit with the Lord. I find this phenomenon makes me even more need of time with the Lord. The who I seek.
At mass today I heard that Mother Theresa and her group would do holy hour everyday before they go out to do their work, I thought that was very powerful that I am willing to try.Thank you

I'd love to hear their thoughts too! I turn to the online adoration broadcasts a lot... I love them! It's basically facetiming God! However, I try to treat them the same way i would a broadcast of the Mass, like on EWTN. It doesn't fulfill an obligation or promise unless there is not another means available. Like, i try not to say, "Nah, Lord, i wont get up this morning to go see you because I can just totally facetime you here in my PJ's." That's the temptation for my lazy soul at least! 🤣 On the other hand, being able to actually facetime Him when adoration isn't physically available (like in the middle of the night) is a HUGE help for recollection and entering into prayer like Father and Mother are teaching us here! Technology is amazing! With those broadcasts, we can finally get God on our phones! There was an old song that said "Long distance information, get me Jesus on the line!" That's possible now! 😆💖
Gretchen Burkey virtual adoration is a wonderful way to pray and meet Christ during a busy day. As Catholics we do believe that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament so in that way there is no substitute for face to face time. It’s kinda like the difference between seeing the sun on tv and going out and basking in the sun’s rays.
AnnaMaria Cardinalli I heard someone compare going to adoration once as like sitting outside in the sun. We walk away changed and “get a tan” as God sheds the light of his grace on us. Moses used to speak with God face to face and would leave those encounters with his face glowing to the point that people stood in awe of him and were afraid. The presence of God is very powerful! Now I want to go to adoration lol
My personal thoughts are that I would rather go on a date with my wife than have a Zoom call because I’m out of town. But if that’s all I can get, I’ll take it.
I go through that periodically. Ask Him to deliver you from it. Also, practice fasting noise and screens for a few hours here and there. Its a consequence of too much stimulation.
Be patient to call yourself back to your awareness of our Lord. It happens sometimes, and yet do not get discouraged. Even if you have to do it a hundred times. Keep in mind you are in the presence of Our King.
I think Fr. Mike Schmitz has a video on this. Very good. From what I remember, he mentions how the Catechism teaches that prayer is a battle. So, wrangling the wandering mind is a normal part of prayer, though at times prayer will flow solidly and effortlessly like a river. Praying the Bible is a good way to anchor your mind in your time with God. Take a Psalm or the Daily Mass and read a verse then talk to God about it. When you've spoken about that one enough (and kept an ear open to see if God has something more to say besides what is on the page), go on to the next verse and speak to Him about it. Hope that helps some.
If you dont know whether the lord is speaking to you or its yourself you haven't heard the lord. If the lord speaks to you directly trust me you will know.
I like to start with "Thank you Jesus, for calling me here to be with you." Then I like to say the prayer of the Angel at Fatima: My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee. Amen. O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners. What I do after that varies. Sometimes a rosary, sometimes read part of "My Imitation of Christ". Sometimes just be silent and listen.
I just left a church I loved because a group kept singing in Eucharist Adoration. I asked them to stop, I’m still praying, they asked when I was leaving, I said, really and they continued singing. I was confounded and left. I called the church to say that I’ve enjoyed mass, movies, sermons, but this is intolerable. Stop sending envelopes I’m not interested in their church, I emailed twice before with no response. I’m going somewhere else where they know what should be going on in Adoration. What a mess.
Jesus Christ is the son of God the God of Israel YAWY Jesus has left the cross defeated sin and death Jesus will never ever enter into the garden of agony again Jesus Christ the son sits at the right side of the father Jesus doesn't need your prayers or help to save souls What you do in spiritual realm by using this prayer is shifting the sins from one soul to another This is a false revelation I bind the forces of this prayers by the power of God the Father the son and the Holy spirit by the power in the name of Jesus the son of God YAHW and I hand over these powers to God the Father in the name of Jesus the son of YAWY amen

K V just what I needed to hear .
Can we do holy hour through Live RUclips channels? Or is it better to just stick to going to the chapel?
How do you know when God is talking to you and it's not your own mind?
If you dont know whether the lord is speaking to you or its yourself you haven't heard the lord. If the lord speaks to you directly trust me you will know.
Haba Na haba!
I like to start with "Thank you Jesus, for calling me here to be with you."
Then I like to say the prayer of the Angel at Fatima:
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee!
I use to think all nuns were old people lol
I just left a church I loved because a group kept singing in Eucharist Adoration. I asked them to stop, I’m still praying, they asked when I was leaving, I said, really and they continued singing. I was confounded and left. I called the church to say that I’ve enjoyed mass, movies, sermons, but this is intolerable. Stop sending envelopes I’m not interested in their church, I emailed twice before with no response. I’m going somewhere else where they know what should be going on in Adoration. What a mess.
How can I hear myself pray and receive His message?
Can eoov
Jesus Christ is the son of God the God of Israel YAWY
Jesus has left the cross defeated sin and death Jesus will never ever enter into the garden of agony again Jesus Christ the son sits at the right side of the father
Jesus doesn't need your prayers or help to save souls
What you do in spiritual realm by using this prayer is shifting the sins from one soul to another
This is a false revelation
I bind the forces of this prayers by the power of God the Father the son and the Holy spirit by the power in the name of Jesus the son of God YAHW and I hand over these powers to God the Father in the name of Jesus the son of YAWY amen
