Kindly explain the usage/ benifits for adding limestone and lysine in the pig feed. And is premix means mineral mixture?
Pigs need calcium and limestone contains huge amounts of calcium carbonate. Limestone is also useful as a carrier for other nutrients essential for the pigs.
Premix includes vitamins, minerals, and additives for the pigs.

How will they feed it to them. Do they have to soak it or feed it to them dry
Either works. Some people complain of dust inhalation when not soaked. We haven’t really had any issue feeding them dry

How much does the final feed cost?And how many times did the engine grand each bran, fish and shell? Also, why didn't you grind the 400kg maize?
Hard to say how much the final feed costs. We grow most of the crops we use on our farm. Also, prices vary due to location or seller.
If you take a closer look, you will notice that the maize has been ground. You only need to grind to your comfort level. Once or twice is enough depending on the horse power of the engine

Do you use soya beans or soyacake? Which is preferred?
In this video, it’s soybean. We believe soybean is preferred. However, soyacake is also an acceptable alternative

About 300 pigs. This will last for roughly 3 months
@@stablerockhq please elaorate more. 300 pigs and each pig will eat about 3kg daily/ 300 * 3 =900 kg daily. 900 * 7 = 6300 kg weekly. 6300* 3 weeks = 25,200 Monthly. is this calculation acurate.
Is it groundnut shell or groundnut cake you added. I am confused at that point.
We used groundnut shell in this particular video. However, groundnut cake is much richer than ground nut shell.
Groundnut shell is used as a cheaper alternative and as can be seen in the video, it’s not in large quantity compared to the other products.
Finally, we believe groundnut shell helps in preventing diarrhoea as well as foul odour of the pig dung

This feed is highly expensive. Can you break even with this formulation?
Not for us. We produce most of the ingredients needed here on our farm. From the crops (e.g soybeans & maize), to the fish, to the even the bran (such as rice and maize bran). This has greatly reduced our cost of production.
Also, we have noticed that with this feed and good management, our pigs are ready for the market weight faster. Thus, less feed needed in the long run for the pigs since we can be able to sell them faster than.
What's the nutritional benefit of the lime stone and the salt?
Pigs need calcium and limestone contains huge amounts of calcium carbonate. Salt ensures the pigs drink lots of water. This in turn has an effect on their weight.
Both salt and limestone are also useful as carriers for other nutrients essential for the pigs.

That is 3kg per day times 3 month (let's for ease of calculations say 100 days) is 300 kg; so how will 3000kg feed 300 pigs for 3 months?

It is a by-product of processing maize. It is a milling item produced from the hard-outer corn kernel layer. Think of it as the shell or skin of the maize seed
