I’m not a lawyer, don’t play one on TV, and didn’t sleep at a Holiday Inn Express, but changing a valid contract and trying to collect on the changes would appear to be fraud.
And breach of contract. A good judge is needed to void the contract, award the RV to Mrs. Pueblo as paid in full, award her court costs and damages from General RV and then to start an in-depth, full-scale investigation into the company and all of its current and previous contracts. They should make them suspend operations until the investigation is concluded too. Really drive a wedge up their asses and then give them jail time to boot.
I would park the RV out front of that business EVERY WEEKEND and have a sign made telling potential customers about their shady practice and blast it all over social media !!

I can see real that she has 119 payments and one big ass balloon payment the big balloon ass payment is not covered up it's not smudged that would tell me that you have to pay it off before your time is up are you get stuck with this big balloon payment
It's not really a standard "vehicle" though, right? More of a house that drives around a bit like an average vehicle. A 20 year loan on a house isn't bad. Say the house is lean free, getting prepared to become rental property. She's retiring, has income generating property and her home that she can drive anywhere in north America and freely park her home on more available usable public land than any other continent. I'm more than sure that the asshat who modified that contract is definitely worse. I wouldn't be side to find out that he has lost everything he's ever had in life and is now living on the streets with a shoe with a giant hole at the ball of it. Wish we could Thanos the universe sometimes.
this type of switcharoo is common and RV and car salespeople can and do a lot of work under the table to get people signed up to hit targets or have money flow etc or short out the paperwork after the customer have left
It was the finance department. They sold her on the term of 240 months. The finance COMPANY did not agree to lend under those conditions. So, instead of telling the customer the deal fell through, they doctored the paperwork. The edits reflect what the finance company offered.
He was laughing because he got you. The dealership is a Fraud and should be shut down. It's clear that they are scammers. The owner(s) and staff members should get prison time.
Remember, after the salesperson is done with the contract, it goes to a finance person/team. With the salesperson, the contract may have been left as she agreed to it, but the finance person/team changed it. You can't condemn the entire company, or even the one sales office, without knowing all the facts, and the news rarely presents all the facts. Their job, after all, is to sell a story that elicits an emotional response, not tell the truth. And before you come down on me as supporting the company, I have no affiliation with them. I just hate to see people making blanket statements about a group of individuals for what may be the actions of one.

Not to make necessary adjustments on the owners part means that they have no problems with taking 💰 from customers that they are not entitled to which makes them no better than a thief who break into a home and steal or take the money or credit cards that's in a wallet. It tells others that they don't care about customers who helped their business sales and put food on their tables and it speaks volumes about their character. This place should be shutdown and as much as I wouldn't want to see anyone without a job and have to find a new position, to knowingly and to continue to work at any business place where owners don't acknowledge and correct wrongdoing makes the employee no better than the ones they work for. I would have to question such a persons character as well. Working with and hanging with thieves or those who steal or take from others will eventually rub off on you, next thing you know, you go from being an upstanding person to becoming a criminal and a liar. The good news is that if the place is shutdown, as it should be, employees can file for unemployment.
those involved with this fraud. c'mon, the grunts in the shops, groundskeepers, receptionists, custodians. I really don't think you meant them at all. that said, everyone in the dealership responsible for drawing up these documents, reviewing them, signing them - oh yeah: jail. jail. jail.
I would think there is a criminal charge there as well. Either way if I had the reputation this company claims to have, then I would pay off the credit union and set a contract with this customer for the remainder of the 240 months at the same terms. Win for the customer and I.
It is the finance person that did this. Salesman do not handle the finance end. This is major bank fraud and wire fraud since the financing is handled through electronic communication. Each that carries a 30 year prison term.

Highly unlikely a employee could be on the take, or even the branch, unless payment is taken in cash. Very easy to see money coming in and out of someone's account
Almost every autoloan I've heard of, the lender does an interview with the buyer to confirm the payment and length of the loan. Especially with a huge amount financed. I would think that its automatic. Yup, I would investigate the lender too.
@@lelandfranklin3487 I can kind of understand a 20 year loan for this sort of RV. Some people buy these as a home and travel permanently. But it seems this lady bought it as luxury. Which a 20 year loan, is silly stupid, considering her position. And her lack of standing up to them, is why they decided to take advantage of her in the first place. Salesmen easily sense a gullible sucker, like this lady. Most salesmen hate people like me because I will not let them push me around and I ask very detailed questions, make them repeat it a couple times and verify it's documentation. They really are scum bags. They're the same kind of scum a lawyer is. Which is why the one in the video, sounded so utterly useless.
Looking at all these comments I can tell most people don't own an rv. Camping has become the most popular thing to do, thanks to covid. Rv prices are through the roof and campgrounds are booked solid years in advance. Our friends just sold their 8 year old gas rv for 80,000. Last year a site at our campground sold for 160,000 in 3 days. Memberships have gone from around 1500 to 6000+ on the secondary market.
well yes but its probably going to be all damaged or have parts that aren't in production anymore. Everyone who had this happen to them should have their entire loan cleared courtesy of General RV! That would be the perfect restitution and General RV should have to pick up the final bill at whatever financing company financed that person's RV
That consumers should contact the State Attorney General as well as the United States Attorney General this is basically a clear case of deceptive fraud
The only one committing fraud is the girl clear as day that you have a big balloon payment and she brings us up after 6 years she found out that every year you have to do maintenance on it whether you drive it or not can't just sit and let it rot
It’s criminal racketeering. There’s no way she is alone. This is classic sleazy salesmen tactics. Always sit and go over each inch of final documents before signing even if it takes 2 hours. Tell the salesmen to go find something else to do for a while. Any effort to rush you or statements like they’re getting off soon or have other customers waiting are VERY big red flags. Tell them if that’s the case run me off a copy to take home and read and then you also have that if they alter after the fact. I usually do this based on “I” have to be somewhere. If they alter and don’t leave obvious disparities as in this case, you have the original to bring with you for comparison. Just have them sign the copy with the remark, “final agreement” and signature. It’s a copy. They should have Zero problem writing on it.
General RV needs to make this right! The Bank needs to make this right and I am sure this is probably not the first! They both need to be investigated! Prayers this women gets justice!
General RV voided the contract the moment they altered the contract.. So she should hire an attorney, return the RV to dealership & refuse to make anymore payments. An attorney would cost her about 3k or 4 RV payments to settled this in Court.
Sounds like General RV is just planning on legal billing her to death. She pays for an attorney then they just keep requesting new court dates and delays on the new court dates to run up her fees. Contact the State’s University’s LAW DEPARTMENT and see if they are willing to take on her case as a Contract Law & Fraud Review Case just paying court fees. Some Big Universities do help people in a situation such as this. Worst case keep paying JUST the monthly payments and if they try coming after HER in 2025 THEY will need to PROVE that their contract wasn’t altered.
3K? Wow, the lawyers must be CHEAP where you live. It cost me 1 thousand just for ONE lawyer to look at a letter of demand that I wrote that was one page long and that took 15 minutes.

If they changed the numbers then this goes way beyond a civil matter. This is a major criminal matter. If they changed the numbers they engaged in and committed major finance fraud with a bank. First of all, motor homes last way beyond 20 years. Secondly, the price was over $100,000. She could have had a ten yr loan but the payments would be huge or she would have a balloon payment at the end. That’s what the problem is.

119 payments of $631 plus a balloon payment of $63,139 = $138,343. The top clearly states a Grand Total of $151,670 after finance charges. Sue the piss out of them and specifically ask for punitive damages. They knew what they were doing and deserve punitive damages.
In this case, her RV is a literal blood sucker. She donates plasma to feed the dragon, as she chases her tail, trying to keep up with the payments. There’s a cherry on top of that which is, it would soon affect her credit score which...is a manipulative, debunked controlling entity, as well but also a ruler over many, in many ways. My point... their plan worked and which way. She’s not trying to chase something non-threatening, at the end of the day. She’s trying to save major upsets that could devastate her, financially. Whether or not we agree with this institution, most are conditioned to stay enslaved by it, at really, no fault of their own. So what is she supposed to do?

They both required a $5,000.00 deposit. The problem was that General RV was a "non refundable " deposit, N.I.R.V. Center was fully refundable. I went with NIRV and I called the saleswoman at General and told her that I went with NIRV simply because of their refundable deposit. She then said she could do it with a refundable deposit. Because of that I don't trust General RV.
The evidence just based on the numbers they show proves their intent to defraud. The finance charge showing $46,470.37 is exactly what it would be on a 20 year full amortization. A 119 payments with 1 balloon payment amortized over 20 years would only have a finance charge $33,348.10. That would be a total cost of purchase on credit of $143,304.10, not the $156,426.37 they show. All the numbers at the top showing the rate at 3.90%, finance charge of $46,470.37, total payments $151,670.40 and total cost of purchase $4,755.97 down, $156,426.37, this is based on a full 20 year amortization term with no balloon payment. The number of payments at 119 payments of $631,96 for 1 balloon payment of $63,139.96 does not even compute with any of the finance charges and costs showing above. These numbers alone shows they did in fact calculate everything based on 240 payments, not 119 payments plus 1 balloon payment. They committed major loan fraud and defrauded the consumer and they did it knowingly with intent to defraud. The numbers alone proves this beyond a reasonable doubt and the people at the dealership responsible for this needs to be prosecuted for loan fraud and wire fraud.

I was a lawyer for 42 years working in consumer and business insolvency. These types of problems are common in the RV vehicle sales industry. They hook the customer with a deal on the financing. Over the years, the legal amplifications re disclosure requirements on these contracts have made them so complex that exactly the opposite result occurs. The customer often doesn't read or reads but does not understand the terms and financial consequences. Although not as common, what probably happened here is that some salesman and "finance guy" got together to secure their month end commissions with a big sale like this one. They gave the customer one set of contracts with terms, but prepared a second or altered form of the contract to sell. These dealers never carry the contracts. They sell them to some underlying finance entity, bank, or whatever. Often, the initial payments are the same on the two contracts so the buyer and contract purchaser look at the same performance (payments) for months or years before the forgeries kick in and it hits the fan, like here. Now, you think these dealer guys would know that their conduct is illegal and fraudulent, that they will be hauled up for it in the end. These guys are commonly gypsies who move from job to job within months or a few years. They are likely to be long gone and several other jobs later before the fraud is discovered. The dealership itself may be gone, or owned by someone new. "I don't know what happened.", followed by bad record keeping and a lot of BS to the parties, the lenders and the state regulators will often make the problem slide back to the finance company and the buyer. It just a dirty business by its nature. Anyway, this one is clearly dealership fraud on the underwriter. I used to run into this scam regularly with car and RV dealerships.

I bought a truck and they put the wrong VIN on my paperwork. 3 months into driving it I got a call that said I was driving the wrong truck, but I was driving the truck I intended to purchase. The one they sold me on paperwork was $4k less than the one they gave me. (Thank god I didn't get in a wreck or something I might have been screwed on insurance since I used the wrong VIN to buy insurance. Went off of paperwork and not the actual truck... don't do that!) Now they're trying to say I owe $4k. Seemed suspicious since the price we agreed upon put me at the payment and loan term I wanted. I contacted the state AG and just chatted over what happened. She said it was their job to have their VIN numbers straight and they would have to suck up the $4k and to let her know if there was any argument. When I went in to do new paperwork I politely let them know I checked with the AG and hoped they weren't going to try and make this new paperwork add the $4k. Suddenly their finance guy "wasn't ready for me yet" and I had to wait a half hour. I'm guessing they redid the paperwork to match the exact previously agreed upon price since I mentioned the AG. Then the salesman guilted me the entire way out of the dealership by saying this $4k was now coming out of his commission. I said, "That sucks, guess you'll learn from this mistake for the future and triple check those VINs!". Could have been a complete accident and they never intended to charge me more, I could be assuming far too much by that half hour wait. But I made sure I had all the facts before I met with them, and they did make it right. I gave them a 5 star review, including my story.
It sounds like she couldn't afford this to begin with. Not trying to defend the RV dealer because they're obviously scumbags, but she got in over her head.
If what she has paid so for is less than depreciation, just give it back. Then sue in small claims court for fraud. Doesn't matter the amount, as long as she wins. This will prevent a credit ding.
Not only should the state AG office investigate the retailer, EVERY supplier to the retailer including EVERY RV manufacturer should stop dealing with General RV at once.
@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS Not exactly but similar.. I remember watching tv with my mom and there was a commercial for a lender offering 500k loans for like a $300 monthly payment. I took out a calculator and told her it would take like 150 years to pay that off so there would have to be an enormous balloon payment due at the end of 30 years.
@@Nozoki There's usually only balloon payments in real estate on commercial loans or shorter term private money funding sources. The crash had to do with Subprime loans for residential that had teaser introductory payments that would then go up after a year or two and the terms not being explained to the average Joe buyer's... but remember the bigger, lesser known cause of the full on country wide crash was the bundles of these bad loans being packaged and improperly labelled as A rating cash derivatives that were them being bought by insurance companies and brokerage firms and crap, like AIG.
Not the same, but a local dealership in my area scammed my aunt and uncle on purchase protection insurance when they bought a used car years back. They added this insurance to the overall loan and when my uncle unfortunately got sick and was out of work for awhile they called the insurance company to file a claim to help ease some financial burden, only to be told they didn't have any record of them. They gave them the name of the dealer that sold the insurance, only to be told that dealer was not affiliated with them and had no right to sell their insurance. To make a long story short legal action was threatened against the dealer. The dealer wrote a check for the balance of the loan to avoid legal fees and a possible news story.
I have a feeling there’s gonna be jail sentences and millions of dollars in loans forgiven when the justice department investigates this company they have gotten away with it for too long now they need to be run out of Utah!!
No, there won't be any jail time. This was a fraud by contract forgery committed by the dealer against its financing underwriter which purchased the sale contract the same day the deal was closed. If the buyer can afford to hire a lawyer and make it stick, she will get the terms of her copy of the contract, because that's why the law requires they get it. The lender has recourse against the dealership for fraud. Often the value of future business is so great that they end up settling on some reimbursement and a bandaid agreement to "not make that mistake" again. Otherwise, the dealership pays back the loss, or it goes broke and doesn't. Commonly in this deal, the customer pays the installments up to the fraudulent "balloon" date, then stops over the dispute, the loan goes into default under the terms of the customer's real contract, the RV it repoed and sold, and the customer is then on the hook for any unpaid balance. (There is always an unpaid balance.) The trick here is once the customer has defaulted by failing to make the real installment payments while recovering from shock over the situation, the lender can and will call the balance of the loan due, thereby quite legally removing the issue of when deferred payment is due from the legal dispute.

Those who knew and did nothing about it and the mastermind of this deceit should be imprisoned. The owner/owners of the business should do the right thing and rectify any wrongdoing that occurred with the financial amount of every contract with this issue no matter how long it has been since the purchase was made. She’s also been paying for 6 out of 20 years...5 yrs of payments before she understood that she was a criminal victim by an entity with simply, more money to get away with it, stealing from her, twice over; taking the payments & later, attempting to either collect a balloon payment or repossessing the RV, to sell it, again. In cases like this, Google can be your friend. A very short search found several dozen similar complaints against General RV spread across all states where they have locations. I can not speak to the validity of those complaints, but it puts up enough warning flags to make me think twice about dealing with them without extensive investigation.

I live in California. Last month I was going to order a motorhome. I looked into 2 rv dealers , General RV from Draper Utah and National Indoor RV from Las Vegas, NV. She said for me to cancel with NIRV and buy it with General RV. I said no because she was not transparent about the deal and that I would stick with NIRV, which I did.

Sounds like they need to go to jail, and they should pay off her entire loan and let her have the RV for free.

Selling plasma so she can afford her $150,000 motorhome? This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard why doesn’t she sell it?
Probably because the current value does not cover the remainder of the loan. Why should she take the hit, lose what she has in it, lose the RV, and end up in the negative because of the scam?

This is why I strike through ALL empty boxes and spaces on a contract. I'm sorry for her and I hope this works out for her in the end.
I always do this. Had a car dealer try to tell me I couldn’t do that once so I told them I couldn’t sign the contract.

I had an alarm company do something similar. We agreed on a 3 year contract, afterwards they wrote in 5 on one page. Not really in the same ballpark as far as money but I fought it.
Got a new alarm company and they made me listen to a recording of terms. When the salesman got back on the phone, I said no, im not paying for a new permit. He said they would pay it. Two months later the township wants $100 from me for the permit. After several calls if me telling supervisor to listen to the initial call, they paid it and fired the salesman. Nothing worse than being shady and lying.

Honestly, people take out 30 year mortgages for a $200k house so why is it a stretch to take out a long loan for an RV that cost over $100k? It's not really what you're buying but the amount it costs to own that item.
@@dewrus2153 🤔 You got a point....but if that was here primary residence, I’d understand., but she’s selling plasma for money...this was not a good decision.
Went off of paperwork and not the actual truck... don't do that!)
Now they're trying to say I owe $4k.

File a lawsuit for intentional infliction of emotional distress, as well as fraud😐
