  • This video reviews the science behind the mini-trampoline (or rebounder). In addition, a myriad of health benefits are mentioned. Applicable ways to use the mini trampoline are also discussed.
    FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE WONDERING WHAT BRANDS ARE THE BEST TO BUY:
    While I am not partial to one particular brand, I definitely have found the cheaper rebounders to be hard on the joints (especially in the knees and hips). With that said, after years of clinical research and feedback, I am confident in recommending the cellerciser for those of you who WANT a recommendation. Because of this, I have provided a link for you here so you can research the best options for your needs: bp321.isrefer....
    DISCLAIMER: I do not provide the above recommendation lightly. I have spent the last three years researching SAFE, EFFECTIVE, and RELIABLE brands for my patients. The cellerciser checked all of these boxes for me (and it folds up for decluttering and travel convenience). Given this, I expect that you will do your own research. I reached out to the founder of the cellerciser as a result of time-tested clinical research and patient feedback. I felt that I needed to provide more links for folks to research my recommendation. This affiliate advertising program is designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to affiliated sites. The generated fees help to provide more quality tutorial videos on health and wellness. I have chosen this company because of its quality, integrity, research-driven manufacturing processes, and the overall outcomes I have seen as a result of this product. I ONLY choose companies I can stand behind.
    MY TOP MINI-TRAMPOLINE RECOMMENDATION:
    shop.cellercis...
    If you want to watch a video of my cellercise review: • The Best Health & Fitn...
    WHEN DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH:
    When shopping for a rebounder, you must watch out for overpronating of the feet which can cause an unnecessary impact on joints. The goal of a rebounder is not to see which brand allows the higher bounce; but rather, it is which brand will properly support your body mechanics with the least amount of risk of injury. It is the compression of your body's G-Force when jumping into the trampoline that is creating the most physiologic change; therefore, the more time spent in the air, the less therapeutic effect. This does not mean that there is no benefit to the cellular expansion at the top of your bounce, it simply means that you want to pay attention to the support provided when your feet contact the mat. Also, I recommend that you consider wear and tear of bungees (although quieter, most high-quality spring coils can be oiled and will bounce quieter as a result). If you choose bungees, look for a company that has a warranty available or a guarantee. In essence, it is much better to get the best quality you can afford. Of course, it is better to bounce than not to bounce; but, be cautious of the less expensive brands and pay attention to your body's signs that your joints are not fully supported (pain in your ankles, knees, and hips). If this occurs, you should upgrade your rebounder. I hope that helps you with your search.

    I am 72 and started rebounding about 3 years ago. I do absolutely love it!!! I have a safety bar on it, but do not have to use it too often. I was already in good shape, but I think trying something new also helped build one's confidence. I jump at least 4 times a week usually more.

    I started rebounding 8 months ago. I am almost 47 years old, female and have lost 35 pounds! I’m down to the weight that I was before I had my son 9 years ago. My muscle development is incredible! My legs look like I lift weights as do my arms and shoulders (holding your arms in different positions can strengthen the arms as much as the legs). I don’t think I have been this fit in my entire life!
    I started out doing 10-15 minute work outs that were very basic and mostly consisted of the health bounce. I now do 35-40 minute work outs with a lot of strong jumping. I have very few colds this winter as well.
    I honestly look like I have the body of a 30 year old woman after 8 months of 5-6x a week. It’s so much fun, I get up early just to fit it into my day! How many workouts are like that? ❤️

      Cindy, I have 100 lbs to lose. What is your experience with excess skin after losing weight? I am curious to see what happens as I lose.

    • @Lillyofthevalley222
      @Lillyofthevalley222 5 лет назад +17

      Suzu M hi Suzu, I actually haven’t had a problem with extra skin but having said that I haven’t lost nearly as much as your goal is. I think if you don’t try to lose the weight to quickly (4-6 ponds per month) the skin will not be such a problem as it is if you lose the weight a lot faster. I have also seen quite a few comments from people in the fitness industry who have stated that there are specific diets to go on after losing the fat that will help to eliminate the extra skin of that is an issue. This might be something to look into should lose skin become a problem for you.
      Also, the rebounder exercises every molecule in your body including skin molecules, so perhaps this is also why I don’t have lose skin issues?? I hope this helps.

I bought my cellerciser when finances were VERY tight; but, I just couldn't imaging my life without the tremendous health benefits (and immune -boosting activity that we need, now). Think of it as an investment into the best asset you have: your body. When you think of your rebounder as a life-time purchase that won't wear out over the years, as the mood-boosting tool, a jump-start to the cellular health benefits of your entire body, it is definitely worth it. When I do a 50 minute exercise class at the gym my Fitbit calls it "moderately intense". Fifteen minutes on my rebounder yields me "high intensity" on my Fitbit. That really impressed me.

      Pamela Haskins i’m sorry you had a negative experience on a rebounder.
      I purchased a Cellerciser rebounder after doing a lot of research. It is an exercise quality rebounder. The bounce is very gentle on my joints. When I started bouncing I could only bounce three times. I am now up over 100 bounces in a row. If at all possible you might want to try a different brand. From what I’ve read they are not all the same quality. Some can pronate your feet and hurt the ankles and knees.
      Good luck.

    Agree about benefits of rebounding. I own the Cellerciser and love it. I began a routine in early Feb of this year. Lost five pounds of retained water overnight and another five pounds through the following week. My whole body is already gaining muscle. Even my biceps and triceps are being defined. I notice when I bowled last year, I used a 9 or 10 lb ball. This weekend I used a 12 lb. Never could do that before. I have been rebounding for 50 min, five days a week, about 10 on Sat. and resting on Sunday, for about four weeks. Plan to follow this schedule all year and record results. I am very overweight. I learnt about rebounding from my manager at work and borrowed one for a while. When Covid 19 kicked in I decided to buy one of my own and bought a Maximus Pro from rebound fitness in the UK. I typically do about 18 minutes a day and I am definitely feeling a benefit. I wanted to take up jogging or running but was worried about my knee joints; with rebounding that's no problem, plus I can get a good all round workout even on cold dark winter nights! I definitely recommend rebounding. I'm 50 but I've got more benefit from 3 months of this than from years of gym membership.

      @@hippiegypsygirlYes they're very expensive. I ordered a ReboundAir for more than half the price of a Bellicon, new on Amazon with a lifetime warranty. It has lasted me 8 years and I am still enjoying it. My kids play on it also and I've had one spring break over all this time, whereas Bellicon bungees are much more prone to breakage. There is research which suggests that pronation of the feet and ankles is more likely with a bungee based rebounder because the when the feet land the mat descends further and the surface does not support the feet and ankles as well as a spring based rebounder....something to think about and you do want to invest in a high quality one for best joint protection.

    Hello Linne, can I just say how super duper awesome and beautiful you are, even more so for putting together this great video and sharing such helpful healthy info. Can't thank you enough. I join the rebounder-lover community here in confirming the wonders of rebounding and recommending it to everyone in my circle and anyone I can. We just got our rebounder a week ago and I have been bouncing daily trying different videos and moves, so much fun! Sleeping better, moving about better, don't feel as inflamed and sluggish. I tried to work out months before and always dread starting and would usually feel too sore after HIIT sessions, but I have not dreaded waking up to rebounding! Thank you again, bless you beautiful and also thanks n blessings to everyone else for sharing their testimonies! Let's keep rebounding! xoxo

    I was skipping quite regularly a year ago (58 years old, 175lbs) and found my feet would get sore, not just sore muscles, but I could tell I needed to take a fair bit of a break between workout, meaning at least 3 or 4 days. Still think skipping is great (along with heavy weight training) but think I'm going to try rebounding as an alternative to skipping just for lower impact and all the other benefits.

    I was introduced to rebounding at the start of the first Covid lockdown back in March/April last year when the gyms closed. I was a bit sceptical at first, but I have found that I took to it much more than other forms of exercise and bought a rebounder of my own. I have greatly benefited both mentally and physically. I'm not in brilliant shape yet, but very noticeably better than before. I now do a mixture of classes on zoom and with youtube videos. I bought my sister a rebounder for Christmas and she's starting her journey. I wish more men would take this up, but I guess they think it's a girl's thing. That's a shame...

    • @dr.linnelinder9403
      @dr.linnelinder9403  3 года назад +6

      Jonathan Bignall~ I appreciate your comment so much! What a great gift to give your sister! It is the best health/fitness/wellness equipment you can get in your home (in my oh-so-humble opinion). You know, there are fewer men who do it however it is really catching on. Men are starting to get more excited about the health benefits rebounding and the ease on their bodies. The muscle definition that can be achieved is another draw, I am sure. My husband loves it for loosening tight muscles and maintaining his chiropractic adjustments. One of my favorite male role models in this industry is Dave Hall (Cellercise founder) You can get great tips over at his RUclips channel: Body Workout. If you haven't checked him out, you may want to do so. It helps to know that men are working out with you all over the world...

I’ve had about 18 months of physiotherapy and I should keep doing home and gym exercises 3x a week. It’s super boring and a pain in the ass. I bought a little 2nd hand trampoline to just try if I could jump in the firstplace, because I can’t walk stairs, run or do cycling, but omg this is soo much fun! I experienced little pain in my knee in the beginning and began to notice overall improvement in my posture, muscles and I feel like walking more. 59 years old and just bought a Newan bungee mini trampoline on Amazon because I wanted to activate my lymphatic system better and it was this (fun and low skeletal impact) or jump roping (no fun and jarring). I then saw this review and thought wow lots of other benefits!

Having a full-time practice and running a website (journeytowardjoy.com) sometimes gets in the way of creating quality RUclips material. Given that, I make it my mission to always post quality material that will help the subscribers here...and the process of creation, editing, posting on RUclips, etc. takes me a little longer than most.
      At least that is my guess as to why. However, I am more concerned about quality than quantity.

    • @dr.linnelinder9403
      @dr.linnelinder9403  3 года назад

      Sham and the Fam~ What a great question! You know, if you have the right, supportive mat, you shouldn't get a headache from jumping. While I can't say for sure that you will not get a headache, I can share some of the common causes that you want to rule out. Make sure you are hydrated as dehydration can cause head pain. While there are many causes, the most common can be higher blood pressure, low blood sugar, dehydration, or tight muscles in the neck and shoulders. Interestingly, rebounding has been shown to lower both blood pressure and tension in the neck. If you find that you get headaches from rebounding and you are hydrated and your blood sugar isn't low, then you may want to discuss this with your physician.
      Let me know how it goes!

    Hello Dr Linne. I loved your video and all the vital information regarding rebounders. However, Margaret Martin, Physical Therapist does not recommend them. She feels that Stomping give much more benefit. So what is the truth regarding rebounders, as I would like to buy one? I am a reasonably fit 79 year old and would like to be fitter. Very best wishes Jo x

    • @dr.linnelinder9403
      @dr.linnelinder9403  2 года назад

      Josephine~ Thank you for the great comment. I would respectfully disagree with the physical therapist. While a cheap rebounder can do more harm to your joints and tissue, a quality rebounder (like the cellerciser) with a balance bar is absolutely one the of the best ways to improve overall cellular health, improve safety while working out, and gain overall strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. There are a LOT of studies demonstrating the health benefits of rebounding. And while I am perfectly open to reviewing studies on "stomping", I have not seen the studies behind this type of movement and benefits beyond that of rebounding. If you have seen them, please send them my way! I have provided the research links in previous posts here on this feed; but if you cannot find them, I am happy to provide those to you as well...

      Linné Linder this is all because i watched a video years back explaining about the benefits and boy were they right. This thing is absolutely the best thing you need. I rebound for 20 min then lift weights and then another 10 min rebound and i feel on top of the world. It helped me quit cigarettes, it helped me with immunity, i dont get sick often anymore, it even helps me with my allergies. As far as emotionally it just puts me in better mood and makes me happy. I put my headphones and start rebounding and after couple minutes i just lose myself into it and dont even care about the time. After rebounding i can walk so easily. I mean i can go on and on what rebounding has done for me but its gonna be an essay. I encourage anyone that is thinking to start, start asap and change your life. My 70 year old dad even does it. I just had a newborn and i cant wait until he grows up to be rebounding. I even suggested my local gym to get couple a rebounders and they did and people fall in love with it.

      Equinox~ You ask a great question. There are SO many things you can do on the minitrampoline to get a great workout. You can check out my rebounder HIIT or Transform 24 videos for ideas. I also like to put on a 20-minute dance cardio RUclips video and try the moves on the trampoline. This is always a fun challenge. Let me know what you try and what works for you. To answer your question, yes you absolutely can walk, jog, sprint on a trampoline and you will get a 3x more effective caloric burn than if you did the same on the pavement! In fact, it is 11x more effective than walking for the same amount of time. I also have a video on what to look for when shopping for a quality rebounder. While I am biased toward the cellerciser, it is still important that you choose a rebounder that is the highest quality and reliable for your budget. I will put the links here for you:
