Until someone crashes and claims they didn't know they were there....there's a reason for everything. If you're not trained in it then why comment.

having a jury inside a prison might make them more likely to find the charged guilty

@@barknbryce6993 Hello, you’ve got a point there. I my country, the Netherlands, we don’t have trial by jury so that would be no problem. At the moment a trial like this is going on for a year and more. In this case organized crime. The defendant is suspected of organizing the murder of one of his judges. He also corrupted his lawyers. The process is going on in a special high security courthouse called ‘the bunker’ He has to be transported from a high security prison, which is 90 km away. Intervention from outside, his gang, is expected. Every time he has to go to court a enormous amount of heavily armed personnel, police and army, are involved in the transport, guarding the streets and the building, spotting the route etc.
Every day he goes back and forth. This is not the only case in which such measures are needed. It’s awful expensive and the police doesn’t have sufficient manpower. Therefore they consider to built a courtroom inside the maximum. security prison. I think that’s the best idea.

youre not wrong at all. it happens more than you might think. Even when you see the 2 vans in convoy, both may well be empty. for example, the 2 prison wagons carrying dale Cregan, were potentially empty and as you say, he was probably going the other way in a panda car

Why do the Manchester Police vehicles tend to have the matt black area on the bonnet. Is it to reduce glare? Not noticed it on other forces cars though.

It's used on vehicles that can conduct pursuits as it reduces glare on a sunny day (sun reflects off white bonnets and onto the windscreen).
