After three years on sale, Buick’s top-selling Encore GX arrives for 2024 with a new look, new screens, and the same diminutive powertrain. More importantly, it lands with a new top trim that brings it apace with the brand’s entire range and nudges the model toward its entry-level luxury aims.
The Buick Encore GX is Buick’s mid-range compact crossover. Slotting between the new entry-level Envista crossover and the larger Enclave SUV, the updated model is targeted toward a younger generation than the brand has historically been associated with. Shoppers should note that the non-GX Encore nameplate has been retired. The non-GX Encore was another size smaller than the GX, so think of the Envista as a replacement for the original Encore, and the Buick lineup from smallest and cheapest to largest and most expensive will be: Envista, Encore GX, Envision, Enclave.
The 2024 Buick Encore GX is based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Trailblazer. The two models are built together in Korea, while the Envista is built with the Chevy Trax in China. Both are particularly important to GM’s Asian market, where the Buick brand has proven a runaway success.
The big news from this facelift is the revision of the Encore GX’s infotainment experience. Drivers now interface through an 11-inch central infotainment display, along with a new eight-inch digital cluster. Graphics are sharp and clean, and response from both systems is prompt. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, and wireless device charging is available on higher trims. Standard 18-inch wheels give the GX a good curbside presence, and still with enough sidewall to ensure a respectable ride.

For clarification, this vehicle is made by GM Korea. It’s based on the new Chevy Trax.

The Encore GX is built along side of the Chevrolet Trailblazer its corporate cousin.
The 24 Trax @ Buick Envista, are built of the same platform but wheelbase longer.
Chevrolet Traverse is a 3 row suv built in Michigan.
The Trax @ upcoming Envista are also built in S Korea.😢😢😮😮

It's not based on the Chevy Traverse - its based on the Chevy TrailBlazer. The base Encore was based on the Chevy Trax. The new Buick Envista is based on the NEW ChevyTrax ie no AWD.

FYI. The front seats are unusually narrow on the GX.

I thought the GS comes with 310 Hp., at 155 Hp the can keep I’ll go for a Mazda CX5

I think the Mazda CX3 is a better comparison to the Encore than the CX5. The Encore has a large intuitive touch screen which the Mazda doesn't have. The redesigned exterior and interior of the Encore is stunning. My previous car, a Mazda. It was a great car but I wasn't happy with the AC. I've just bought the Encore GX-ST. I'm veryhappy with it.

@@IRISHJEWEL how is it when switching lanes or merging on a freeway, i have a Mazda 3 and it’s sluggish merging on freeway

I had a M3 with the larger engine. It was not sluggish. The AC was poor. CX5 is a great car too. Preferred the smaller sized Encore with large touch screen, & panoramic roof.

Honestly. Biased opinion but if every Buick has this face then how are people going to differentiate them all? You basically have to walk around the whole vehicle to tell which one is which. Almost like Lincoln making the mistake of the MK naming that confused buyers.
