Honestly I saw a trailer for this at 2 in the morning and my sleep deprived ass thought "well why is she scared? he loves his daughter so much he came back from the dead" and I am literally just now realizing the actual plot
Oh boy it’s my turn to be the paragraph guy, anyway, this video is talking about The Invisible Man (2020), this will have spoilers, so if you want to watch the movie, I suggest you stop reading. The Invisible Man (2020) is a loosely adapted remake of a 1933 classic Universal Horror film of the same name, which itself was an adaptation of an 1897 novel by HG Wells, most famous for War of the Worlds. This movie stars Elizabeth Moss as Cecelia, a woman who had to escape her abusive boyfriend, Adrian Griffin, a genius tech millionaire. The only way to escape was to drug him and escape while he slept. After finally getting away and living discreetly at her friend James’ house, her sister shows up unexpectedly bearing the news that Adrian had killed himself. This had really boosted her morale, because before then she could barely been able to leave the house, convinced Adrian would be right outside the door. A few days after this good news, a letter comes to James’ house, addressed to Cecelia, despite nobody knowing she’s there. It’s a letter saying that Cecelia is supposed to have a meeting with Adrian’s brother, a lawyer, to talk about inheritance. Upon Adrian’s death, Cecelia has been given 5 million dollars, on account that she is proven sane of mind and does not commit any crimes. Over the course of the next couple of days, strange things begin occurring, food on the oven spontaneously setting on fire after being unattended for only a second, a strange feeling of being watched, and on a job interview when asked to show some of her previous work, she finds all her papers missing, and mysteriously passes out. When she wakes up she’s at a hospital, once home she gets a call with the results, it turns out her bloodwork showed high amounts of diazepam, the same drug she used to drug Adrian. Then, while on the phone, she sees the exact bottle of diazepam she used to drug Adrian. This makes her believe that Adrian has either come back from the dead, or that he has found a way to become invisible. After this discovery, things ramp up. She confronts her sister, who when opening the door says that she received an email from Cecelia saying how much Cecelia hates her, Cecelia says that Adrian did it. When she goes home she finds that there is an email sent from her computer to her sister detailing exactly what she supposedly thinks of her sister. When James’ daughter, Sidney, comes in to comfort her, an unseen hand slaps Sidney across the face, Sidney, believing Cecelia slapped her, calls to her dad asking to leave. This leaves Cecelia alone with her invisible stalker. She attempts to confront this Invisible Man, but is unsuccessful, so she tries calling Adrian’s phone, which works. The phone is ringing from the attic, and when she goes up, she discovers Adrian’s phone, a knife in a plastic bag, and the papers missing from her interview. A text pops up on Adrian’s phone saying “surprise.” She starts heading back down when she feels someone watching her from the ladder, she drops a bucket of paint to reveal there _ is_ an Invisible Man on the ladder, this results in a physical altercation that ends in Cecelia having to run away, she gets an Uber to Adrian’s house, enters the basement, which is a high tech laboratory, and she enters a room with a seemingly empty display, which, when activated, reveals a suit with hundreds of cameras and screens that successfully causes the wearer to be completely invisible. With this discovery, she now has proof that Adrian is doing this to her, so she hides the suit and calls her sister, asking to meet somewhere, preferably somewhere public, saying she has proof. When they meet up, they begin no a conversation when her sister is killed by a floating knife, held by The Invisible Man. The Invisible Man thrusts the knife into Cecelia’s hand just as someone turns to look, this makes it look as if Cecelia murdered her sister. She is taken to a mental hospital where she appears insane, saving about an Invisible Man killing her sister. She is informed that she is actually pregnant, something she thought couldn’t happen because she was taking birth controls, and is a terrifying thought because that’s exactly what Adrian wanted to happen so she would be forced to stay. The next day, she has a meeting with Adrian’s brother, who reveals that Adrian knew she was taking birth control, and replaced with a placebo, and that she is no longer entitled to the money because she is now legally a murderer and appearing to be insane, but it can all go away if she has the baby, and goes back to Adrian. Revealing Adrian’s brother knew he was alive and knew what he had been doing. Cecelia refused, throwing his stuff off the table and secretly grabbing one of his fountain pens. Later that night, she uses the pen to pretend to slit her wrist, which is promptly stopped by Adrian, now knowing exactly where he is, she takes the pen and stabs him multiple times, causing the suit to glitch out, occasionally turning off and on again, this leads to a brutal hallway massacre that can’t be described in words, you need to just watch the movie to appreciate this scene. Cecelia escapes, confronts Adrian in the rain, and he says that he will never hurt Cecelia, but will hurt someone she loves. “Now you only have yourself to blame, for that innocent young girl’s death.” Terrified for Sidney’s life, she steals a car to drive back to James’ house, warms him on the phone. Sidney is woken up to a feeling of being watched, she grabs her pepper spray and sprays all over her room, The Invisible Man, with a no longer glitching suit, stumbles into the desk, giving Sidney just enough time to run out, but is grabbed by the hair and yanked back, when James walks in, and is beaten to a pulp by The Invisible Man, luckily surviving because of Cecelia’s sudden entry with a fire extinguisher, spraying The Invisible Man, revealing his location. Then she shoots him multiple times, he falls to the ground dead. When she takes off his mask, she discovers it wasn’t Adrian, but his brother. With proof now that there was an Invisible Man, Adrian’s estate is raided by a SWAT team, who discovers Adrian tied up in a secret room, he appears as if he had been kidnapped and trapped there. Still believing that Adrian was really behind it all, she agrees to meet up with him for dinner at his house. When she enters, she agrees to get back with him if, and only if, he admits that it had been him, not his brother. He, obviously, does not admit to this, she begins crying, and Adrian comforts her saying that he knows she must feel crazy sometimes, but he knows that she isn’t, he knows more about her than anyone else, and that it shouldn’t come as a “surprise.” This immediately pulls her out of it, she says she needs to go wash up. While waiting, Adrian sits at the table when his hand is forced around a knife, and he slits his own throat. Cecelia then walks out, screams, calls the police, reports a suicide, hangs up, then drops the act, looks at Adrian as he’s dying and repeats back to him: “surprise.” The movie ends with Cecelia free of the abuse of Adrian Griffin and the terror of an Invisible Man.
So as no one explained it earlier i will be the paragraph person this time.i did some research on this movie and here is how it goes so.... Cecilia Kass is trapped in a violent and controlling relationship with Adrian Griffin, a wealthy and brilliant scientist. She escapes with the help of her sister, Emily, and a friend, James. Adrian seemingly commits suicide, leaving Cecilia a large inheritance. As mentioned in this video. However, strange and terrifying events start occurring, making Cecilia believe Adrian has discovered a way to become invisible. She tries to convince her friends and family, but they think she's experiencing trauma-induced paranoia. As the invisible stalker's hauntings escalate, Cecilia's grip on reality begins to slip. So in order to prove her point ,Cecilia investigates Adrian's lab and discovers his invisibility technology. She realizes he's using it to gaslight and control her, making her question her own sanity. Cecilia confronts the invisible Adrian, using her knowledge of his technology against him. In the end, she succeeded , reclaiming her life and freedom. Also i forgot to mention that Adrian kills Cecilia's sister to further to punish her.. In the final confrantation she used the same weapon that Adrian used to kill her sister...
I think I’m the only one that cared more about the suit then the movie, as an iron man fan all I was thinking was how cool it looked and how it worked.
I put a paragraph but here it is again: Cecilia Kass is trapped in a violent and controlling relationship with wealthy optics engineer and businessman Adrian Griffin, the founder and CEO of the human-computer augmentation company Cobalt. One night, Cecilia drugs Adrian with her diazepam and escapes his highly-secured house with her younger sister Emily's help. Cecilia hides out with her childhood friend, San Francisco Policedetective James Lanier and his teenage daughter, Sydney. Two weeks after Cecilia's escape, Adrian seemingly commits suicide and leaves her $5 million. His lawyer brother, Tom, handles the arrangements. Cecilia suspects another presence in the house after several strange events, but James assures her she is just traumatized and paranoid. During a job interview, she finds her work portfolio contents removed, then faints. The doctor says high levels of diazepam were found in her system. In her bathroom, she finds the same bloodied diazepam bottle with which she drugged Adrian. Cecilia, accompanied by James, meets with Tom. She believes that Adrian faked his death and used his optics expertise to become invisible in order to torment her, but this idea is rebuffed. Later, an unseen force hits Sydney, who assumes it was Cecilia. While alone at the house, Cecilia tries various tactics to catch the figure she believes hit Sydney. She finds Adrian's phone in the attic, on which she immediately receives a text saying "surprise". Cecilia dumps paint down the attic trap door, coating an invisible figure. A violent struggle ensues but Cecilia escapes. She goes to Adrian's home to investigate his lab, where she finds an additional invisible bodysuit, confirming her suspicions. Right after she hides the suit in their former bedroom's closet, the invisible figure attacks again, so she flees and contacts Emily. The pair meet at a restaurant, where the invisible figure slits Emily's throat and places the knife in Cecilia's hand, framing her for murder. While awaiting trial, Cecilia is remanded to a psychiatric hospital, where she learns she is pregnant. Tom offers to get her charges dropped if she agrees to "return to him" and raise the child, implying that Tom helped stage his brother's suicide. He reveals Adrian tampered with her birth control to impregnate her. Cecilia refuses the offer and steals a fountain pen from him. That night, she attempts suicide and lures out the invisible figure. When the figure tries to stop her, she stabs him repeatedly with the pen, causing the suit to malfunction. The security team arrives, but the figure incapacitates them before fleeing the hospital, with Cecilia in pursuit. To protect her unborn child, the figure instead threatens to attack those she loves. Cecilia races to James's house and finds the figure attacking him and Sydney. She shoots the figure to death but finds Tom in the suit. Police storm Adrian's house and find him alive, tied up and claiming that Tom held him prisoner. They conclude that Tom killed Emily as well, but Cecilia believes that Adrian set his brother up as the scapegoat for his crimes. To get Adrian's confession, a now exonerated Cecilia meets him at his house secretly wearing a wire, while James listens in from a few blocks away. She agrees to mend their relationship, but only if he confesses to killing Emily. Adrian insists that Tom was responsible, but claims that the experience changed his outlook on life and how he treated her. After Adrian says the word "surprise", Cecilia excuses herself. Moments later, the security camera captures Adrian seemingly slitting his own throat. Cecilia returns and calls 911, apparently distraught. Out of the camera's sight, however, she coldly stares at a dying Adrian and taunts him, indicating that she had used the spare bodysuit to kill him. Cecilia leaves as Adrian dies on the floor. When James arrives, Cecilia confirms what the camera captured. He notices she is carrying the suit, but agrees to keep silent and allows her to leave.
I've read the actual book by H.G wells.. however the storyline's entirely different... it's really family friendly accept for a few brutal murder scenes.
