Awesome Jase. I just bought a 1970 XW wagon 3.6 200 engine. Got it cheap. Bit of dancer in the Tail gate but overall a great find. I got a black block 351 4 speed TL and a XR turbo Ute diff so could add it the the project.
When I was about 14/5, a mate's big brother had an xa with a 351, twin 4 barrel holleys and a tunnel ram. He only drove it at night because at night, it wasn't as easy to see from distance, meaning he had a good chance of not being chased by the cops. This was pre mad Max, too. He also had a typical 70s custom panel van with a hot 308 and a go-kart steering wheel.
Top loader 💪💪💪 But all the highways up your way and with 3:55 rear, a world class T5 from an 6cyl EB- EL would be the go. can't lean on it as hard like a top loader though. EFI 👌 cold start spluttering will be a thing of the past. that aces master kit looks great for the price, had I known I would have got that instead of Sniper and Ice ign.
What did you seal the diff cover with. I just replaced mine with a paper gasket and it leaked straightaway and so I'm going to just use black RTV this weekend. I'm not going to use the paper gasket again. Do you think it'll be ok? Also are you running power steering? I'm going to try to find where to bolt the three clips to locate the lines. Apparently near our on the engine mounts??

I've got that same rear end setup in my escort but from an AU2 wagon. It's great.

I just use black RTV, no gasket on all my cars, I learned my lesson in the past hehe. I'm not running power steering at this stage
