I don’t understand when people say it would be an outrage if he won... this show is called ‘The Voice’... everything he does is with HIS VOICE! From the music to the singing 🤷♀️🤷♀️ Just because it isn’t what we’ve traditionally seen on these shows, doesn’t mean it doesn’t fit the format. It’s everything the show’s name represents.
I'm 65 years old and I love Sam Perry's music. He's a genius and a breath of fresh air. He can perform songs by people I don't care for and make me totally love it. I watch him and it's like going to see something created by Mozart. He's that special!
It's the fact he can replay his voice without singing and make it whatever tempo and beat style. The other artists literally have to rely on their voice only with music to back then up.
This dude deserves his own show in Vegas. He can appeal to a VERY WIDE spectrum of listeners. If he doesn't already have all of this, he needs a new business manager......

I'm not Aussie, but this guy, to me, reminds me a bit of Nathan Hawes, not for their music artistry, but for how fresh they are. Sure, I've seen loopers in other The Voice franchises, MB14 being one of my faves, but this guy can: -beatbox -reach higher registers -delve into screamo -make unique arrangements -even play around with a bit of opera -and of course, loop I love Sheldon but this guy is on a class of his own. It also helps how charming and short he looks because it's an image that contrasts with his vocal abilities. So vote for this adorable little rat munchkin, Oz.
MB14 was better because he kept the meaning of the song alive even when he used his looper. He used it in a way to always emphasize the spirit of the song. Besides, he always showed clear vocals in all of his performances and performed multiple times without his machine just to show he was able to be a singer without it. If he could do it, why Sam couldn't? People are being ridiculous with the "other people use a piano, a guitar... Sam just uses his voice with the looper". Agreed but it's not like any singer uses an instrument in EVERY SINGLE ONE of his performances, right? And about MB14, he even was able to add sounds to the song sometimes without the looper, just using his mouth by beatboxing in certain ways. You're right about what you say regarding Sam, but his arrangements sound too much like nightclub music. Therefore I can not take him seriously as a singer (despite the fact he finally sung this time for real) because of the Dj-vibe he gives off in all of his performances.
If this kid ends up winning the show, it's always going to go down as "he only won because he had an advantage with that looping machine". Wah wah wah...call the WAMbulance. Others use guitars or keyboards; it's NO different. Kid is super talented. Yeah, he doesn't have the best voice in the competition, but as we've seen from past winners, it's not always about the voice alone....it's about heart and charisma and stage presence....and he's got all three ;)
Wrong since even the people using a "normal" instrument don't use it all the time in every single one of their performances. I'm really glad Sam FINALLY showed he could sing. As for the heart... he's an awesome entertainer but never showed any performance of a song with a message, it's only about the performance. But he does have charisma and stage presence, that's for sure. And I'm not a big fan of the way he's using his looper, it sounds to nightclub-like and I've already seen people using a looper in other The Voice, you can use it to give a deeper meaning to the song, something Sam never did so far. That's why it's hard to totally see him as a singer, especially on such a show. I mean, if it was on a disco song, of course I'd not mind such sounds at all, but on normal songs, it sounds like just fun. It's basically what I think Sam showed all the time, nothing else, just some "fun". Hopefully people will see that I do not simply "diss" him, I said some good thing about him too. Like, I don't know, let's give Sam a song with a strong message to work with and see what he could do. I don't mind the looper but he should try using it for something else than some fun only.

The style of overall performance reminds me a bit of Gigi D'agostino, Avicii and Darude all in one but it's still very original. I know him by his voice being the way it is and how well the looping works with it. His voice makes him unique in that he's found a way to use it well so I believe that makes him a good face on this show. It's over now but I hope more people who can't sing like the others find unique ways to make it work lol. It would make auditions easier to get through, and showcase originality instead of the same dime-a-dozen pop singers we keep hearing.
Kelly's song choices are driving me nuts. Sam is such an INSANELY talented artist, he's probably the most unique/talented artist you've had on The Voice nationally. I usually find artists from The Voice France to be more creative than U.S/U.K./etc. and they had 2 musicians named Krill that did something similar to Sam Perry this year. BUT nobody compares to Sam, he's on a completely different level of talent and creativity. PLEASE LET HIM HAVE SOME INPUT IN THE SONG CHOICES, he knows what he can do best and I know the point is to challenge him but YOU LITERALLY MADE HIM SING SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT. Any Nirvana fan knows if there's one song you DON'T cover it's Smells Like Teen Spirit and I couldn't believe Kelly made him do it when he could have created something so much better with any other Nirvana song (he still nailed it). But this week especially, it just feels like George is getting to Kelly/Sam and it's not working to their advantage. This show isn't worth watching without Sam, every other artist is generic and only on the show because of their range and control, which is great, but I mean. Every variation of The Voice internationally has the same style of artist, just someone who can hit high notes and be high energy on stage. Sam completely changed what the meaning of this show is and i hope it inspires more creatives to get involved with this show. would definitely bring in a new audience.
lmao you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Mb14 on The Voice France went to the finale and him he was a genuine singer using a looper and showed vocals EVERY single time while using the machine. Oh and at least MB14 showed several times he could sing without the looper too. People should stop overhyping Sam so much. lol Of course he'll have a career but it's not like he'll be the next David Guetta... MB14 had a way better hand on his looper than Sam and nobody ever called a single one of his performances "controversial". And please, if he is supposed to go big, why does he not have the biggest fanbase out of all the contestants? Three have more followers than him, one almost as much as him. A superstar should at least have several hundreds of thousands of followers, right? He's nowhere near that.
And for you information, MB14 has more than 181 000 people following him on Facebook and more than 90 000 on Instagram... More than 20 000 for Sam is already incredibly good to make a living out of your talent but no way he'll be a superstar with just that. And it's not like using a looper is a groundbreaking thing, though apparently it's just you never saw someone using one on The Voice Australia before.

Woah, I have a hard time thinking you really watch several variations of the show if you say that. I do watch different The Voice too and could easily write you a lot about every kind of contestants we see through such a show but my comment is already long enough. Besides... Sam did hit high notes and was high energy with his way of mixing sounds in his latest performance... so what you just said to "criticize" the other singers can be applied to him too.

Wish he did more things like this, he's got a great voice. This and when doves cry are absolutely brilliant. Cmon sam give us more of this!

Dear Voice Australia! Please replace George next season with someone much less negative and toxic. Honestly, he's such a buzz kill. None of the other Voices worldwide have judges as negative as him, he's really a downer. Having said that, Please send Sam to Us in America!
