You can feel the pain in the Dad's heart because he wants his daughter to have a better life than he does and opportunities. It is a different era, different struggles, different upbringing. Parents need to be open to letting their kids live their lives and kids need to understand their parents sentiments. Peace!
Story of my life! Developed depression and anxiety from all the pressure of trying to be the perfect daughter for my parents. Took me four years of therapy but i can finally say, im living my life on my own terms now.

I liked that her dad was able to pursue his dreams. A lot of parents get deterred from their dreams and never go back to pursue them. This was inspiring (even if it is a tad idealistic) and a nice sentiment.

I'm proud to say this like this my dad though he failed multiple times and went through many hardships changing his medium of studies he still hold his white collar job and his law degree up right which actually makes me very proud

This girl needs people to listen. We need to to listen to our children otherwise they will push you away, let's listen and support them and hear them out. It might be all they need, knowing you care.

it's sad that so many young people in the world have parents who never see that change like the dad did in this video

I have a very complicated stuff. Dad wants Me to be an IAS but I like more into the stuff of fun Maybe like be an animator but how will the parents understand ? When the girl spoke out, i was like so happy that she had the cpurage to speak her feelings. That is why sometimes we need to not be afraid to speak out to our parents.

This made me cry. I am persuing a career that my parents want me to. I don't like to study it at all, I am mostly in a bad mood, I feel irritated all the time. But I can't do anything about it. It's either them or me. I can't choose myself because at the end they will force me to do something that I don't want to and I can't let down my parents either. It's a real struggle.
Why would they force you to do something you don't like? My parents don't do that and if people try to force me to do something I dislike then I am always able to ignore and disregard them and continue doing what I like. You should also have the courage to disregard people who don't support your journey. Also, don't say you can't let your parents down, say I can let my parents down when I know that what I want is more important than what others want. You can change your situation if you had the courage to.
@@vvsn3172 Sometimes it's not about not being able to speak up and say "I don't want to do that" sometimes it's about being afraid to disappoint them. For some people, it really isn't easy when they know their parents are disappointed in them. It's not always about courage, it could be about many factors ranging from self-esteem to fear of failure and disappointment. not everything is black and white
@@iamagirl9938 The courage thing and disappointing people's expectations easy for me, because I am self-confident and someone who can defy everything and everyone to get the thing most wanted. I don't ever disappoint anyone ever, because I am already very good according to people's expectations.
@@vvsn3172 that's YOU though, but not everyone can be as self-confident as you or can fulfill people's expectations like you while still paving your own path. it is a very admirable trait I wish people like me could have, but sadly not everyone can be like you and stick up for their own and do things on their own terms. And please don't say being like you is easy because, for some of us, it really isn't.

I never had any interest in getting into med school or becoming a doctor
I know it's the trend to always do what you want and reject what other people want for you.
But sometimes your parents have a bigger vision for you than you have for yourself, and you're not always able to understand it, especially when you're young and you don't know a thing about the world
I am personally extremely grateful that my parents pushed me to do this kind of career.
I obviously didn't want it at all in the beginning, but it's only looking back I realize how much they helped me

You can do the same on your own. I figured out what I wanted to do on my own by trying different things and even if I failed a few times I'm greatful nobody helped me because it made me grow up in a way my parents would've never done.
Ya ur right but did u ever think what u could have done if u never knew about med ... Btw I am a med student .... I just wanted to tell u ur really lucky to have loved what u were pushed into ... Not all are fortunate ... I joined med because I love bio but later I fell in love with the profession itself I fell in love with the pride, the responsibility, the importance, the satisfaction, the finesse. ... And all this I have just seen in video and others irl just imagine me doing all that ... It's heaven 💖 so ur lucky my friend 👍.

This thing happened in my life, but unfortunately i did not have the courage as this girl, i never wanted to be a doctor, i completed the med education, but by the time i completed it i was diagnosed with chronic depression. Now i am a psychiatric patient because of my dad and my sibling

This video gives me so much hope. I am at the exact same spot where this girl stands. And I have exact same dreams as she has. But my parents want me to be a doctor. Right now I am at a tight spot and I will temporarily have to give up my dreams. I just hope that after completing my med degree I will have enough courage and energy to follow what I have left behind.

Most of the teen-agers think about suicide because parents doesn't know what they feel while they hearting too much.
Its so true, im in depression and im always thinking of sucide. 😖....what's the purpose of living when you can't live in your own way. It'll get worst if i followed their dream of me becoming a doctor and living my life as they want cuz it will make me regret of not achieving my dream. Also i think most parents force their children to do jobs that have high society standards. Why can i not be different. Im the kind of who usually doesn't get surprised by knowing that this person is a doctor, i get surprised when i hear people say, im a fashion designer, a painter etc. I like when people follow their dreams and i wanna do the same for myself.
Moral of the story: If your parents pushes you too far, go to library so if your parents mad at you the librarian can kick them.
The message to this video is so very very true when my mom was in her forties she went back to school and got her Nursing degree and despite being mentally disabled I am going back to school to get my ma certification at 38 you are never too old to go back to school.

Just tell to them that you want something else. And if they say all of that, tell to them that you've asked nothing of what they've chosen for you and you want something else, then, after you've said all of that, you can say "I'll respect your efforts for what I'm asking for me. Not what you're asking for you." Why ? Because it's your life.

In my tenth grade my father wanted me to become a engineer but my dream is to become a indie game maker .when I told my father about my passion he said that game making is not even a job.Times passed and in my 11th grade I published first commercial title which was a huge a success and generated me a income of 1000$/month(70000rupees)which is far greater than my father's.There my father realised my passion and admitted to follow my dreams. So if you want to chase your dream you need to prove your excellence to your parents

No wait. Please NO... That is exactly what I did... Trust me, taking bio when you don't want to be a doctor is the biggest mistake in my life so far. I got 95% in 10, I was a decent student. The same story as yours I was scared of maths so I took bio... Don't do it. Career prospects after PCB is very poor. Nothing is good except for doctor... I got 97.2% in 12 boards but still couldn't score in NEET becoz deep inside me, I didn't want to be a doctor at all. Being a doctor you will be working 15-18 hours a day during residency. I want to LIVE for myself. I don't want to be committed as a doctor. Take maths even if you think it's hard. Your parents will still be able to afford private engineering but not private medical. After engineering you can do MBA and become a manager somewhere if you don't like engineering. DON'T TAKE BIO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE A DOCTOR. All exams require maths, after taking bio all doors will close. Trust me, I am 18 now... I have tried everything.

Seriously? Every nine year old’s gotta go to school, it’s not pushing, it’s called discipline and education.... And of course you got into a “blowout” fight with your dad, cuz you were like any other nine year old that didn’t wanna go to 3rd grade 🤦🏻♀️.
