      some ppl log after hard day of work to relax and layback and have fun (also know as casual player BY THE DEFINITION not causal raider that jsut midcore ) and some of those ppl dont enjoy and dont seek to play content that challanging they just want ot enjoy the story and not get stressed and confusing with chaotic mechanics (like dung lv 97 and 99 are )
      "dying/wiping is a part of the process"
      a process only works is the mechanics are clear enough to understand if you keep failing to much you get annjoyed and dont want to bother doing it again and as they say FIRST IMPRESIONS MATTER .
      and most of this ppl enjoyed the ew simple formulaic mechanics and didnt ask for this change .
      remeber this what engaging for you might be annjoying for others and what braindead to you might be engaging for others . if the msq is becoming more stressful then that content no longer is for casual player(not causal raiders) becuase to be stressed mean you arent relaxing and that what what many play for .
      also rmeember the same ppl saying this is fine are the same ppl in wow who said this kind of ppl dont matter in wow legion and then wow bfa and wow shadowlands prooved you need ppl who just want ot relax they make up the mayority of the playerbase but they will never voice their opinions on forums and yt comment (well most wont i am here )
      so player and content creators(ppl who arent casuals by any means and dont understand casuals ) start to think most ppl want this when it really isnt true .
      beign forced to be challange isnt any more fun to most casual then being forced to erp is to non rps .
      also remember most mmorpg has easy as hell story dungs and ppl loved that and ffxiv was one of them but right now it simple isnt. also ppl ppl queue back in arr and hw it was harder YES IT WAS AND NOBODY WAS PLAYING IT and even so the causal player numbers skyrocked in the last 10 years most ppl arent even raiding anymore.

    • @moonlitxangel5771
      @moonlitxangel5771 2 месяца назад +16

      With the teacups you really just need to keep track of one of them and make note of where the other is in relation to it cuz in my experience they'll end up in the same orientation. So if they're N and S to start, they're going to be N/S or E/W. It's harder when they're like N and E but they're still going to be following the same idea. So if you follow the E one and it ends up W, the other one is likely S.
      And that dungeon is optional, side content so DT itself isn't impossible there's just a side content boss that's difficult.

    Really hoping the Alliance Raids go the same route as trial 3 where they throw crazy mechanics at you while making it easy to recover from rough hits. EW Alliance raids suffered hard from being too lenient in general especially as the ilvl increased with each patch and now most of those fights are complete jokes to go through (ESPECIALLY AGLAIA).
    Also on your note about ARR's content being more about obtuse and hard to intuit mechanics, Ramuh extreme is probably one of the ultimate examples of that where alone, you probably aren't going to easily figure out the strategy of swapping tanks every 30-45 seconds to collect orbs to resist a tank buster and keep the boss from getting too strong. I loved learning that fight but it kinda set the wrong expectations for me for high end content, thinking all extremes would be that obtuse which intimidated me out of trying more of the extreme and savage fights for quite a while.

      @moonlitxangel5771 2 месяца назад +2

      In harder content like EXs, savage, and ultimate that's always been a thing though. That's one of the ways they make the difficulty harder for end game content. Also EXs aren't casual content and you don't go into it expecting to clear within the time limit, so that doesn't really apply here either.
      A much better example of what you're talking about is in the lvl 95 dungeon. First boss. It does a nonstandard telegraph that trips a lot of people up the first time cuz they're not used to having to look at the boss. Aurum Vale had to get changed awhile back for a similar reason in that Coincounter (I believe that's his name - second boss) now telegraphs where he used to not and you had to either pay attention to what the boss himself was doing or you had to know the three different casts. In the normal mode of the first trial you need to pay attention to the text or look around the arena for a certain mechanic cuz while telegraphed it's off to the side in the back and it does the orange but by the time it does it's too late.

    RE Absolute Authority, you nailed it on the head. I actually, embarrassingly, had to have someone explain that one out to me, because I was initially really frustrated with that mechanic. It's like extreme or savage level in terms of number of things you have to pay attention to and do in such a short time, EXCEPT that as you point out, they _specifically_ give you LB3 back (and give healers much easier mechanics) so you can immediately LB rez everyone. The _intent_ is for people to die to it, and then to be raised again as a "ya, you can't keep us down" moment.
    It's making healer LB3 a fight mechanic in the same way that tank LB3 has been one for several expansions, and it's actually a _fantastic_ addition to the encounter design repertoire (and makes sure healers get that same moment of "hell YES I just did that").

    • @moonlitxangel5771
      @moonlitxangel5771 2 месяца назад +2

      It's not an NA thing, it's a problem with the way the game is setup. Mechanics like that or the one in M2 that's similar are hard because the server functions on server ticks. So where you physically see yourself on screen is not where the game sees you. Your latency/ping (cuz it's not an overall thing - we all have different latency/ping based on our own setups) also affects communication between the client side and the server side. So if your ping is high, there's a greater distance between what the server sees and what you see.

    I remember back when Sastasha Hard Mode was new. There was a very real DPS check on the second boss that caused countless wipes in the duty finder. It's insanely easy now and you could probably do it MINE without a sweat, but back then, it was legitimately difficult. The way it works is, at certain intervals, the boss targets a random (non-tank?) player and start shooting his gun over and over and over. Each hit does more damage than the last. It would eventually be unhealable because the damage ramped up infinitely (as far as I can tell). The only way to get him out of that mode was to DPS him a certain amount. God help you if the healer (a.k.a. me) was the one targeted by this attack and the DPS were focusing down the adds instead.

    You wanna know why the current content is at a good difficulty. In the new Arcadion M4 fight it was challenging enough that when I finished I had the thought "Hey I just did something really hard I bet if I practice just a little more and do some research I can do an Extreme" And night 1 of my practice in EX trials I got a clear and I went into EX2 by accident blind. I quickly looked up a guide for parts I didn't understand but a lot of mechanics were what I already knew to do just with tighter timings and an enrage so i had to have my rotation down.
    Because I got through something difficult I got the courage and confidence to further challenge myself and learn that EX isn't some unclimbable mountain. Did I only get a single clear within 2 hours yeah but I was in a practice PF we weren't expecting that. Since I started this game at the end of ShB I always felt like high end raiding was something that was out of reach for the average player and that normal and high end content were 2 separate worlds. With Dawntrail I don't feel that way anymore I as an imperfect player can achieve clears in high end raiding.
    And now I can see a path of ending up doing Ultimates if I really want to go for it

Now, whenever I see someone new in Crystal Tower, or even something more recent like Aglaia, I actually get sad. They're robbed of an experience due to everyone doing too much damage, taking too little damage, and it dies before you see all the mechanics. Dawntrail battle content is so refreshing to experience. It feels just right.
