I have been gaming on my laptop for 2 years, it's been a nightmare lol. Recently ordered the same build, but with the Intel Core 2 quad 9505 (Got it for really cheap $17). All parts should be coming in next 2-3 weeks, feeling excited!

I have a question I just built an Optiplex 780 sff for a friend upgraded to q9400 8gb of ram 500gb SSHD and GTX 1050 lp the system keeps crashing when I start a game

Aside from old or dying hardware, when it comes to system stability during game sessions, the usual culprit on the hardware side is either the RAM DIMMS itself or the PSU (or one because of the other). On the software side: Outdated/incorrect drivers. If power isn't being perfectly distributed throughout the system through either the 24 pin connector, CPU pin or anything else from the power supply, instability will eventually make itself know. Are what you're experiencing hard crashes or ones back to the desktop, and are you using mods? :)

I'm curious as to what error might be causing the hard crashes. I'm pretty sure it's not a conflict of drivers or software or the actual game causing problems because you've got a capable graphics card to drive them. It's all pointing to either the power supply or the CMOS battery. Both or either of them might be failing. Also, the crashes might be from the CPU or HDD/SSD being over-utilized. How does task manager show your disk, CPU and RAM usage? If you have a BSOD error code, I'd like to know what that is also if you don't mind :D

Additionally (and this might be small but it helped my personal system grow more stable with a greater list of games) the Directx End-User Runtime application will add previous and no unsupported versions of Directx, increasing the range of compatibility. Here's the link:

Well this still work (graphic card installation) with the tower version of the hp compaq 6000 pro ?

The GTX 1050 Ti comes with a standard bracket, so the card can be mounted in a normal sized ATX case. If graphics card clearance isn't an issue, I would recommend a different style of card or an Rx 460 imo

Will the stock power supply be ok for this build.

After weeks of testing, the OEM 340W power supply was more than enough for the CPU upgrade and the GTX 1050 Ti :) Power draw from the wall was around 230W from the way when the system was under load. Overclocking may be a bit of a limiting factor however

wolydthus work with the amd version...and phenom x4 970 be?

Ideally, compatibility comes with the form factor of the tower relative to the graphics card you're trying to use. More than likely, the 1050Ti should fit just fine in this system. The motherboard's chipset however determines what sort of CPU is compatible, so on AMD's side, you should research compatible CPU upgrades from that chipset specifically.
Best of luck, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask

It's no problem at all. I do reply to all messages that come up.. Haven't done a video in a few months because of my disconnect to PC components here in Germany. Sucks here, but I'll soon be back and good to go.
With a budget in mind (and yes, at the time I was on a strict budget myself), I'd still recommend a 1050Ti, as it's an all-around good card for the money. Pinching a few pennies together for this card will do you good in the longrun if you're trying to play games on med-high detail at 1080p resolution. Even with the prices of graphics cards sucking HARD right now, there's always a good deal out there somewhere.

Have you tried dota 2 on it?
I wish to know the fps when Ozbox 2.0 play dota 2

Unfortunately, that is a game that I did not own before I shipped it out to my brother. But, I'm sure that if I could handle Battlefield 1 and Overwatch at over 60FPS, that Dota 2 wouldn't be a problem. I'm sure that's more CPU dependent, but my inference still stands I think lol

What will the total cost be with upgrades?

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135  7 лет назад

The actual HP system it cost $35, a used Q9550 was $40, 4 extra gb of RAM is $15 and the GPU was $140 so... $175 for upgrades :)
