    Ha ha, 5 years late commenting. I think I even got mine 5 years ago for $60 at the thrift shop. Slapped Ubuntu Mate on it and it runs fine for youtube fall asleep videos. I think I will upgrade it from 1 to 2 GB RAM, slap in a 128GB (or less) SSD, and try another linux distro like Bodhi. As long as the linux distro keeps the browser up to date I am happy.

    This card is a beast for windows 98 gaming up to DX7. It plays all my old games with high frame rates at a glorious 640x480. Get a retro rig and this will be the only card you ever need. Its weak for a 2001 card... but for pre 2000 games it is actually really good.

      Ideally, compatibility comes with the form factor of the tower relative to the graphics card you're trying to use. More than likely, the 1050Ti should fit just fine in this system. The motherboard's chipset however determines what sort of CPU is compatible, so on AMD's side, you should research compatible CPU upgrades from that chipset specifically. Best of luck, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask

      It's no problem at all. I do reply to all messages that come up.. Haven't done a video in a few months because of my disconnect to PC components here in Germany. Sucks here, but I'll soon be back and good to go. With a budget in mind (and yes, at the time I was on a strict budget myself), I'd still recommend a 1050Ti, as it's an all-around good card for the money. Pinching a few pennies together for this card will do you good in the longrun if you're trying to play games on med-high detail at 1080p resolution. Even with the prices of graphics cards sucking HARD right now, there's always a good deal out there somewhere.

    I have a question I just built an Optiplex 780 sff for a friend upgraded to q9400 8gb of ram 500gb SSHD and GTX 1050 lp the system keeps crashing when I start a game

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      Aside from old or dying hardware, when it comes to system stability during game sessions, the usual culprit on the hardware side is either the RAM DIMMS itself or the PSU (or one because of the other). On the software side: Outdated/incorrect drivers. If power isn't being perfectly distributed throughout the system through either the 24 pin connector, CPU pin or anything else from the power supply, instability will eventually make itself know. Are what you're experiencing hard crashes or ones back to the desktop, and are you using mods? :)

      I'm curious as to what error might be causing the hard crashes. I'm pretty sure it's not a conflict of drivers or software or the actual game causing problems because you've got a capable graphics card to drive them. It's all pointing to either the power supply or the CMOS battery. Both or either of them might be failing. Also, the crashes might be from the CPU or HDD/SSD being over-utilized. How does task manager show your disk, CPU and RAM usage? If you have a BSOD error code, I'd like to know what that is also if you don't mind :D

      Additionally (and this might be small but it helped my personal system grow more stable with a greater list of games) the Directx End-User Runtime application will add previous and no unsupported versions of Directx, increasing the range of compatibility. Peter Marra While keeping the max TDP of the CPU and graphics card in mind, there was a good amount of breathing room for the system. I've never had a problem with it, and I'm sure an extra 8gbs of memory won't out you over the PSUs limit, depending on the kind you get

      Thank you for the update, and I had a feeling that was the case with Win10 v. 1703 after figuring out that half of my steam library running Vulcan or Directx11 weren't stable. I fortunately rolled back to v. 1607, which hasn't been a problem for me so far. You could always roll your system back to a more stable version if that's the route you want to take. Simply search "Roll back" in the search bar and the top option should give you the chance to get rid of the Creator's Update after a quick restart. Hope this helped

    For single core performance to mean anything in therms of per clock efficiency you have to clock both at the same rate (ex: oc to 3.4 and see how the ryzen compares to the i7)... it would be more impressive if it was to beat ou the older CPU with an higher clock rate.. but I think that IPC core performance has almost stagnated in the last 6 years or so for a reason, this is why we get more cores - CPU performance at a given price used to double every 18 months or so! This is why many people who are on older CPUs from the 2nd generation core ix (i7 2600/i5 2500) are just itching to upgrade, people like me used to upgrade their whole system almost every year, or every second year, it was almost in a constant upgrade cycle.... since I got my i7 2600 in 2011, I changed the graphics card once or twice, then got an SSD, a 3 TB HDD... I just for a Ryzen 1700 two weeks ago, with an nvme ssd! I got it because I wanted new stuff more than anything else!

      Incremental performance boosts are starting to become the norm on Intel's side of the fence, but there's nothing wrong with refining architecture. It just doesn't make sense to me to have an entire new generation (from Skylake to Kabylake for instance) that doesn't show a significant advantage over its predecessor. That's been a thing for the past 6 or so years as far as I've seen with regard to the performance boost. Realistically, with the newest generation of Kabylake processors, it seems like Moore's Law is starting to take a dip down, and that can be taken for more than just the number of transistors of a CPU. The rate will double every 2 years (give or take)? Ehhh... Sure? It used to, at a crazy rate of progress, but it seems like we're shifting in another direction on the Blue team. Power efficiency has gotten better, but thermals and single threaded performance need some more attention as well. I will admit, I'm excited to get to overclocking and testing the stability of the processor lol And, I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't kept a main system for more than 8 months at a time :P

      After weeks of testing, the OEM 340W power supply was more than enough for the CPU upgrade and the GTX 1050 Ti :) Power draw from the wall was around 230W from the way when the system was under load. Overclocking may be a bit of a limiting factor however

    Hey man! Found a good deal, rockford.craigslist.org/sys/6086115005.html also, IDK what GPU (If i buy) to put in, I think GTX 1060, or the RX 470, or 480, let me know if I should go for it!

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      That's a pretty good system, but I'm not feeling too comfortable about the PSU honestly (between the 400W limit and the brand of power supply, there's a lot of room for improvement for convenience's sake). Newer GPUs require a bit more power than what that brick can go with, so I recommend at least an EVGA 500W White 80+ OR 600W Bronze 80+ units as a possible upgrade to look into. Other than that, everything else seems pretty reasonable. Also, if you're going for Nvidia, a GTX 1060 should be plenty, depending on your gaming needs, but I would also recommend you checking out AMD's Rx 500-series cards as they're a bit more powerful than their 400 line, and about the same price too. Rx 570? Why not? :) www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-570-ARMOR-4G/dp/B06Y144RLK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493590062&sr=8-1&keywords=amd+rx+570 These should be available outside of the US in case you live elsewhere. Let me know what you think. Again, this is a pretty good little machine, nice find!

      Ok, New PSU, , also, I live close to there, so I can go pick it up. This might have been the wrong vid to comment on XD. BUT! for 600 USD........ CAN IT RUN CRISIS!?!?!?!?!? XD but srsly if imma get a pc, I don't get payed a lot, and I don't work that much (due to others constantly applying). Will this PC run any med to high intenssive game at 1080p 60? And, Last thing, I want to have both trident, AND Triana (Thats what im calling it if I buy and upgrade it, and NO im not making a female trident, I came up with the name before I even KNEW about this channel, lol y am I being so defensive?). Which should I work on first? I have all the parts bookmarked, and trident for me will be $300 give or take, and triana will be $630 give or take (with the extra parts) PSU www.amazon.com/EVGA-WHITE-Warranty-Supply-100-W1-0500-KR/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493593530&sr=8-1&keywords=EVGA+PSU GTX 1060 and RX 570 are both the same price, so imma go 1060 6gb www.amazon.com/EVGA-WHITE-Warranty-Supply-100-W1-0500-KR/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493593530&sr=8-1&keywords=EVGA+PSU let me know if the 570 is better, but I THINK that the GTX 1060 6gb is better for $200

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      It's cool, I see the comments overall so which video it's under doesn't matter :) As for the question "CAN IT RUN CRISIS!?!?!?!?!?!? XD" lol That's all up to whether or not the CPU will work hard for the GTX 1060, because the card on a proper system will have NO problem running the game at high details at 1080p res. But, since the AMD A8-7600 CPU is a quad core processor, that shouldn't be a big issue (along with it being priced rather well standalone). Keeping a system like the one you found with realistic expectations will help the system be more flexible when it comes to the number of games it can play. It CAN play most games at 1080p, just be mindful of the detail preset changes you may have to make for games like Crisis and Battlefield 1 in case you have to make those changes. Shouldn't have to though Also, the additional 2gb of GDDR5 will help an immense amount, thanks for pointing that out. For starting out? Why not start with Triana (nice name) because I'm not sure what your main system consists of right now, but that'll work great as a replacement in case it's faster and performs better. It's best to have a main system built and monitored first in my opinion.

    UPDATE - I both want to apologize for the late upload and thank you for still coming by my channel to watch the video <3 This project proved to be extremely difficult to make, due to the PC's instability. From recording gameplay for tests to getting these games to work in general took a great amount of time to compile. I hope you enjoy this video all the same! You all are awesome!!

    Great Video! Just wanted to ask if there is a diffrence between the Tower Version of the Hp Compaq 6000 Pro and the SFF Version.

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      (My apologies for the delayed response) The only difference is the system's form factor. One is about the size of a traditional desktop tower, and the other is the same but is a great deal smaller. The only major difference with regards to the size difference is component compatibility: Making sure the parts you add to the SFF version will physically fit inside :P

    Hey, I wanna build this machine, but I can't find the OEM anywhere, will this work? www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-745-SFF-DT-Optiplex-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-2-Duo-Processor-4GB-RAM/122355202660?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41451%26meid%3Db6adda2e9f864052b763645c0ea9344e%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D122355202660 (I want to put in GTX 1050ti LP, Intel core 2 quad q9550, and another 4gb stick of ram) Will that work?

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      I would probably guess that it would, but from the looks of it, there may be some clearance issues in store for ya. I can only guarantee that both a GTX 750 Ti and MSI's new 1050 Ti both fit inside an HP Compaq 6000 Pro :P I updated the description with some links to the HP system

      Thank you.........wait...................No HDD? dang it! XD no but really, this maybe? www.ebay.com/itm/Windows-10-64bit-With-Ms-Office-2013-On-A-1TB-Desktop-Hardrive-Basically-New-/272630202304?hash=item3f7a06bfc0:g:iuMAAOSw44BYeujh , one in description shows 2gb of ram, should i still only get a 4gb stick? is 6gb enough? also..... YOU SHOULD HAVE BENCHED OVERWATCH!!!! no but rlly tho, overwatch would have been a GREAT game to bench, last thing, you deserve SO MANY more subs for the content you make, thank you so much, (secretly hoping he does a giveaway of this pc) and I hope you keep up the good work!

      Mr Bulbaslime That works too! And thanks soooo much!! I will keep giving out the best content I can make! Glad you've come along for the ride :D Means a lot!

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      You should honestly be able to get away with 6GB, but 8 is recommended for modern games. As for Overwatch, that's a AAA title that can run on any decent hardware in general, but there might be an updated video with more games benchmarked in the future ;) And, sadly enough, this PC is going to be a graduation present for my brother, but who knows? Giveaways may be something I can do in the future!

    ***Update II*** I've decided to go with the Ryzen 7 1700 CPU instead of the 1600X, because between the cost of getting a CPU cooler for the 1600X and the 1700, I'd only save about $3-5 at the end of the purchases. Everything should arrive by April 26th!!

    hey man, good vid, you might just wanna think about your intro, it's not bad per say, but I've seen better, slight touch of helpful criticism.

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      Actually, once you mention it... I forgot to put one in this video ._. I was rushing to get this one out before work. And by intro, do you mean at the beginning (where I messed up), or the part with music and the channel name? I appreciate the constructive criticism, of course! Thanks

    • @bubblezz.
      @bubblezz. 7 лет назад

      MarroneHz I meant the music with words, the music is a little off putting, if you can change the song, great! or just get a different intro, thanks for reading! (just tryna give some helpful criticism, don't take this like it's mean please)

    question, i want a gaming pc, and have about a budget of the same as this, I could also buy a ps4 for that money, should I build this PC? or just buy used PS4?

    • @marronehz7135
      @marronehz7135 7 лет назад

      I would recommend making a PC like the one I showed here in the video. You could always upgrade the graphics card to get a bit more performance out the next few years to come, while the next console generation will require you to buy an entirely new system for an upgrade. PC is way more versatile and is easier to upgrade, so it can keep up with the times :)

      MarroneHz thank you so much, I was on the fence but wanna get into PC gaming, #pcnasterrace I believe is a thing, also, I agree, 30fps for most things is playable. last thing, I swear, what cpu did u use? I know old socket, just wanna know, thanks!

      For Trident, I used an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 for this one, but for an extra few dollars you could opt for a better Q9650. The full list of possible upgrades (against the HP Compaq system) is in the description! :) No problem also!!

    ***Update*** I did realize that in the picture showing my pcpartpicker hardware list, I had the 1700 in the place of the 1600X I'm planning to purchase for the build. (Also, I apologize for the low-quality image :P ).. Ryzen 5 is not-yet recognized by the site, so I filled that slot on this list with a Ryzen CPU, until it does become available. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Update*** The 1st mission will be uploaded tomorrow! I do apologize for the delay, but gamers need their sleep too :) Be on the lookout for that and the final video for Trident: The $225 OEM PC!! I've got a lot of great content for you guys that I'm working on. Subscribing will help keep you updated and informed of future uploads and would mean a lot to me!! Thanks everyone!
