🌼 Off the silver screen, Daniela is a biologist interested in the ecology, behavior, and evolution of social insect societies, mainly honey bees and wood ants. She completed her doctorate (PhD) in honey bee genomics and behavior at the University of California, San Diego in 2022.
🌼 Currently, she is completing a UC Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Riverside with Dr. Jessica Purcell's research group, studying supergene evolution in a native wood ant.
🌼 Daniela strongly believes in the importance and value of science communication and education and strives to make science both accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience. Her science communication style is broadly influenced by theater, dance, spoken word, comedy, and telenovelas.
🌼 She is also currently working on developing STEAM educational programming for the incarcerated communities of southern California as part of a larger prison-industrial complex abolition project. She is interested in developing courses that use zines as learning tools to promote interactive engagement with scientific topics.
🌼 When she’s not analyzing DNA sequences, you can find her papercrafting, gardening, foraging for wild mushrooms, hiking in Death Valley, or looking for horned lizards in San Diego's beautiful chaparral and desert regions.

I have this food planner but mine looks so boring and uninspiring. I only half heartedly use it. I’m glad you shared this. I’m gonna get mine out and start decorating it. Maybe I’ll stick to the plan better. I organized my mild liners just so I could use them as you’ve done in your fitness and food planners. As always, thanks for the inspiration!
Aww you're always so KIND! 😊💖 I feel like my motivation for meal planning comes and goes in waves. Sometimes I get really into it and other times, it's harder. When I do use it I definitely feel like it adds value and discipline to my life. The trick is maintaining it though! 😂 Good Luck!!!!
