    About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

I will never comment on what you haven’t done. Good grief - your to do list is longer than anything I can imagine. It’s your in progress list and the completed jobs that deserve comments. Everything you all do is spectacular, so watching the process is just pure pleasure.

My personal feelings: I am trying to understand why people comment on when this or that will get done. Really? As if you don't know your own home? Do they think you will miss something? It will get done when you all have the time to get to it. You owe us no explanation; not even your patron members have a right to question why you still need to get to a project. It's your business when and how you prioritize the vast amount of work you have on your to-do list. You spend more time explaining yourselves and why you've not gotten to a project or complete something than any RUclipsr I've watched. Your willingness to video your progress and post it for our entertainment is much appreciated. I get so much joy out of your excitement! Thank you again for letting us join you on this renovation journey!

It boggles my mind that some poeple sit at home, watching RUclips videos of other people working their tushes off, and have the audacity to criticize what hasn't yet been done. Especially when some of those things have obvious reasons for being postponed! Sheesh. And you are so polite in addressing their outrageous comments. Well done, Terry.

I have a couple of things to say, first to all of those people who are 'nagging' you about the work they see as should be completed, give it a rest. If you yourselves have ever done renovations you would have only an inkling at what a massive labour intensive job this is. I speak from experience and the reno jobs I have been involved in have been big but nowhere near the scope of this. Second, Terry, I thought I would throw up just looking at where you were doing the work on the dormer, my head is still spinning. Ash, your excitement is palpable and it is a diffident yes on the important of the stone with dates being placed. You ALL are amazing . Yes, blessed for sure.

There is no way I could get on scaffolding that high. I know people have jobs that require high work all of the time, and some people who enjoy rock/mountain climbing, but for the average person that's a super-human job. Nicely done Terry.
I don't like negative comments, who are the @#$! complaining about what is not yet done (awnings)? Put up (the money or the time to do the work) or keep it to yourselves. sheesh.

It's strange that big jobs take less time than the fiddly little ones, but it's the little ones that stick out the most. Also the amount of work that involved in getting the scaffold up to just paint one window, is the reason for good work planning to spread the resource over many jobs. One fairly new airport I've used has an unfinished panel in the roof left when the scaffold was stripped out, but to get to it now will cost thousands.
Enjoy every piece as you complete, you've all worked very hard so savor the moments and thanks for taking us along. Stay safe up there.

Im lost for words regarding your work ethic and commitment to this restoration.
I’m not sure if people realize what a monumental task it was to set up the scaffolding and climb so high!!!
My outmost respect to you all, my favorite chateau restoration channel.
Was holding my breath, seeing Terry up so high.
I’m with Ash, heights are not for me.
The chateau is such a BEAUTY!

EEEEEEEE, It's coming together. So happy for you all! Terry, I bend down on bended knees in front of you. Keep one hand on the Chateau and a foot down for security and balance and away you go. I am one of the impatient watchers, who keep looking at that little window way on the top. When, when, when, and now it's getting done. Fantastic! I will never be able to come to your piece of heaven but know if I had the means I would. It would be sweet enjoyment. Thank you Family for taking us alone.

I love it ❤. The marker stone says it all, it screams class in its simplicity. You guys amaze me. Thank you for waking the grand dame up. Terry, I have said prayers for your continued safety. The dormer is starting to shine.( I don't handle heights so well 😵‍💫) Take care and God be with you.😊

You are all working so hard. Terry is doing such wonderful work. He deserves a real pat on the back for doing the chateau dormer windows do high up and fixing around the tower. It's looking splendid. I love the new commemorative stone. It looks beautiful. I'm so glad important dates have been included with the fleur de lys. The garden really looks so good too. You're doing such a marvellous job together to bring the old girl back to life. Very well done. My best wishes always.

God bless you, Terry. I am like Ash. I couldn't go that high on scaffolding and a latter. While you're up there, please spray for moss/algae removal. The new paintwork looks fantastic.
Ash, I can see why you are so proud of your new cornerstone. You, Terry, and the whole family have made an enormous difference in the legacy of Château Lalacelle. She will thrive again! The whole village can be proud of your restoration efforts. You all are an asset to the community. 😊🎉❤
