This is so helpful! THANK YOU!! I just bought a tube of body cream from a seller on eBay, cotton candy clouds. When I opened the cap it smelled OK I guess, but when I squeezed out the cream it was super yellow and thick and kind crusty. The code on the bottom of the tube is 3093B2B1…which I think means it was produced at the beginning of April 2023.

You’re probably the reason they changed the policy. If you didn’t use in 2 years it’s kind of tacky to exchange for something new

I had no idea the creams don’t last as long I have a vanilla Noel cream that’s yellow separated and smells old it’s nasty. I just got a few creams I gotta use them fast lol 😂
😭 Omg! Yeah I definitely wish they lasted a bit longer. I started putting on one yesterday and was like wait, this smells a little sour. 😅
Bath & Body mists never expire. Lotions definitely go bad before creams. Yellowing does not mean a cream is bad. Fragrances with vanilla notes tend to yellow. It's just the chemistry.

I currently have a spray that starts with an 8 it can't be more than a year since I bought it.
Hmm, that’s interesting. I wonder if it’s actually an older mist they put on sale that they were trying to get rid of? I know sometimes I have to double check the dates on some of the things during Semi-Annual Sale because sometimes they mix in a few older items.
So you said the body lotions and the body mist can last up to 5 years? What about the candles?
Shelf life for candles are three years. You can enter the batch code ( search " batch code bath and body works" on Google ) to see the manufacturer date and from there, do the math. Usually, the batch code is at the middle right of the candle when you upside down the candle. Hopefully, I've been clear.

Hey 👋🏼I read the code on my body lotion the way you did but if it’s correct it meant that it was made after I bought it which does not make sense , I didn’t use it for a while, but when I used it yesterday it was light pinky coloured, and I used it today again, it was back to white , I bought it about a year and half ago, should I keep using it or should I throw it away?
Hiiii! Oh yeah, that does sound strange. My suggestion is to shake it up and if it doesn’t come out super watery or smelling weird then it should be fine! 😃

Hi! For the Bath and Body works body care produced before 2012/2013 the bottles were actually shaped differently. That’s going to be the easiest way to know. Definitely vintage looking! Back then, the tops were usually metallic twist off and pour tops. The body mists were not straight up and down cylinders.

Do you think if i put my bow creams in the fridge they would last longer? Cuz I got A LOT during sas and some already yellow and I’m so slow when it comes to moisturizers idky
I’ve never tried it, but don’t think it would be the best. I think the temperature in the fridge might actually be too cold and cause the ingredients to separate.

So I found a website actually. If you put the code in it'll tell you when it was made. I just checked mine ang it was made in October. Your s was made 4/16/21

What’s Shelf life VS who uses it more than a years? Cuz I have some of them it’s been 3years but still good
I honestly think they should be fine. VS and Bath and Body works are owned by the same company so I believe the shelf life is about the same. I have some VS lotions and mists that are about that age and they don’t smell or look weird either.

The shower gels should last about 3 years from the manufacture date when unopened and stored in a cool, dry place.

Yep 👍🏽 You’ll definitely be able to tell if it’s gone bad or headed downhill. Lotions and creams will be watery or kind of lumpy. The mists will start to have a rancid or alcohol type smell. Most of the body creams never last that long though once opened.

No where can I find any information telling me what the number would be if it was manufactured in 2022??? If it has a 2 first then that means 2012 right? So what would the year 2022? I think I will have to email B&BW because I got something off Amazon that smells horrible and the number is 2241B581. Please if anyone knows, reply.
Yes, it couldn’t hurt to email them. I know a lot of the older lotions and shower gels from 2012 had metallic screw on tops and curvy bottles whereas in 2022 the tops are flip and pour tops. The newer bottles have a more curved rectangle look. If the product is from 2022 with that number it’s only a few months old and should still be bad that fast. Also, for 2022 it would have the updated price sticker showing somewhere from $15.50 and up on lotions, creams, and mists.
