    It’s cold so I am inside winter here in Victoria Australia 😊sometimes it is more expensive in the long run to buy individual patterns especially here where we have to double the cost of most of the patterns and books the only advantage of the pattern is you don’t have to pay for postage and that has become horrendous love the pattern for the socks and the yarn .if you feel your tension is too tight in colour work turn your work inside out so the floats are on the outside,this seems to give it the extra stretch it often needs .too authors that do great fantasy are tamora pierce especially her winding ways series great fro crafters, and some of illona andrews series. And who can forget the best dragon series of all by Anne mc caffery.knitting on hand spun socks and very slow going. Enjoy your videos very much keep up the good work.

      Ohh I hope you’re staying cozy and warm inside. I agree about buying individual patterns vs. a book. I feel if I’m going to make 2 or more patterns from a book it’s worth buying it. Though international shipping really has become insanely expensive recently. I can’t wait to check out the books you mentioned. Thank you for the suggestions. I hope you’re enjoying your sock knitting. Thank you! 🤎

    Hardie Grant Publishing imprints Laine books after a period of time at half the cost and available in everyday books shops. We share similar interests and read the same books. Thank you for keeping me company. I am currently in rural Victoria near Melbourne Australia cross country skiing. ❤

    • @caprinecottage
      @caprinecottage  2 месяца назад

      I think that’s sadly only in Australia. There are some Laine Publishing titles that have been picked up by a publisher here in the US but only a small handful of them, mostly the 52 weeks of … series. Ahhh cross country skiing, one of my favorite activities. I would agree that we have similar interests ☺️ thanks for saying hi.

    Excited for the dress! I listened to the song and it made me lolllllllll. Sounds country-ish but then she's super blunt about how she feels. I'm going to check out one of the books 😊

      I'm so happy you like the idea! Haha I completely agree. Her background is definitely country but this album was more folky. Her song writing also catches me off guard lol. I hope you enjoy it, I know they're probably not for everyone but I really enjoyed. Thanks for saying hi!

    The finished socks 🧶👌. Popped Deeper Well on Spotify so will give it a listen. Hubby reads fantasy me, I’m reading classics currently as never read them 😮. I’m a 70s girl so Genesis, Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd feature highly. My 2 daughters used to keep us current when they were at home lol 😂. You seemed so happy and relaxed today thank you for sharing and great news on your subscribers reaching 1000. Weather here sun and cold winds 🫣

      Oh I'm happy you like them! It was a really fun and nice pattern. You'll see as this goes on how eclectic my music taste is. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time! It finally cooled down a little here today, so I'm happy about that. Nice to see you again :)

      I would say partially yes. Maybe both of my parents? But not the Zeppelin haha. That I found on my own as a teenager (a close friend showed them to me) and it blew my mind. As time goes on there have been so many people and different influencers that it can be hard to pin down where it all comes from. I love the ease of finding and accessing music now with the availability of everything on the internet. Before that it was so much harder with just the radio or word of mouth. ☺️☺️ Nice to chat.

    Nice! Congrats on the 1K subs! 🎉 I was knitting my first ever piece in the round, on DPNs, with increase and decreases. I had to pause the video on every increase. 😂. Those books have been on my TBR for a while.

      Aww thanks so much! I totally relate to this. Whenever I'm watching a knitting podcast I have to pause it when I get to a more complicated place in my pattern so I don't make a mistake haha. I wasn't expecting to like them as much as I did. A truly pleasant surprise. Happy knitting! :)

    These are the nicest wooden sock blockers I know of foxyfibers.nl/products/sockblockers-beursvoorraad/ Really thick and high quality wood, made by hand from solid mansonia wood. The design is also really clever; you can block two different sized socks one either end of the blocker.

But years ago I used to play in a weekly GURPS game any my character was a tiny pixie! lol It was a lot of fun. Thanks for stopping by! I hope your little friend turns out nicely.
