Real pan de polvo does not have eggs,vanilla,or baking powder. My mother's recipe all it has in the batter is 3 ingredients and then you mix them in the sugar & cinnamon
Puedes aumentar el tiempo de cocimiento por un minuto mas a ver si eso ayuda a que se cuezan mejor . Puedes apagar el horno y dejarlas 1 o 2 minutos mas. Depende tambien en el horno, pero basicamente eso es lo que yo haria.

That is vegetable shortening? Ummmm I don’t ever recall my abuela using that in cookies, and some ingredients are missing but again my abuela was from Mexico and not from the states so very different. But good recipe
Actually this recipe comes from the northen part of Mexico. In old times instead of the vegetable shortening they would use pork lard. What kind of cookies would you abuela make? And what ingredients do you remember from her recipes? It would be nice to know. Thank you for your comment.
@@BehindTheCake the rum the tea from cinnamon sticks and the anis and sometimes she would bring some nueces (pecans) like almost powder and making a separate batch with them. She would always say the vegetable oil will never give the right flavor to cookies, so never used it for said reason. But as I stated it’s different but my abuela was deep Mexico.

I was making half the recipe and added 2 eggs instead of 1.5. When it is crubly you add milk or water so it becomes softer and you can actually scoop it. Hope that helps.

Porque se deshacen al morderlas. Se hacen polvo. Yo las conocía como hojarascas y cuando me cambié de ciudad le llamas pan de polvo.
