How To Sell Your Book On Apple Books

- Apple books is a less price-sensitive place to sell your e-book so it might be a great place for you to sell your book. Loading your book to Draft2Digital (www.booklaunchers.com/d2d) to upload to Apple and other retailers is the simplest way to access Apple Books but you will have to pay Draft2Digital a cut to do that. Uploading to Apple is straightforward albeit with some extra steps in the process. It's a bit of a pain uploading direct to be honest. I love apple books for their pricing freedom and the human curated content but I don't love their upload interface. We go through D2D for our authors to reach apple books - just FYI.

Good work Julie-as usual- but what is your take on Apple's Promo Codes and Badges?
We haven't used their promo codes to date ... we've always sold the books through D2D not uploaded to Apple direct as we find it to be a bit of a pain to manage their platform on top of others. We use the apple badges on websites for our authors that want to promote apple books but it is not usually on it's own it's beside Amazon and B&N.

Honestly apple books upload is a PITA ... we don't directly upload to them we go through D2D for our clients. I'm sure once you get it rolling it's not that bad but you have to download another app and it's not straightforward.

Is anyone else having problems "enabling your iTunes Connect"? I press "continue" as per 2:48 in this video and it freezes. Then if I press it once again, it tells me I am not logged in? Is anyone else having this problem - do you have a solution?
Does Apple Books have a refund/return policy that is more stringent than Amazon’s? I learned about the company charging authors certain fees regardless of how much or how little of each publication has been read. I’m just wondering if (any) authors’ profits would be more “protected” on Apple Books than on Amazon KDP.
I believe Apple is a friendlier platform for authors as is Kobo.

I just watched this and I still have zero clue how to create an account.
I created an Apple ID. I then went to the iTunes connect site and it instructed me to download iTunes on my widows PC and sign in so I did. Then I went back to the iTunes connect site to try to set up but the only option on the screen is to go open iTunes where it says to create a new Apple ID. But I created an Apple ID before installing iTunes.
I don’t’ see anywhere on iTunes to create the iTunes connect account.
I have an Apple ID and I’m signed into iTunes but have zero clue how to create the iTunes connect ID and set up the account for publishing.
It's a really challenging one to set up - of all the platforms I struggle the most with Apple and use D2D to sell there!

I went on the apple for books forums and it's full of posts of people in the same situation who can't create an account with iTunes Connect because it says they don't have a verified Apple ID when they do.
I tried it on my windows PC in Chrome and on my iPad Pro in Safari with the same rejection even though I can use that same Apple ID to create and log into an iTunes account.
The Apple site still uses some Sku-Morphic design buttons which Apple abandoned 11 years ago so that tells you how much they care about that side of their business.
Also, I tried to expand beyond my KDP and set up an IngramSpark account here in the UK. When creating the account, the site demanded multiple times that I was not using the correct format for my post code (zip code). I tried it in the 123456 format and the 123 456 format as we use both in the UK but despite trying ten times it insisted I was doing it wrong. So I gave up.

when you login to connect 3,27 then you jump to another window 3,30 where and what is that
It's your Itunes connect account. They don't make this super easy to do. We generally use ACX to upload our audiobooks to apple and Draft2Digital to get onto Itunes. It's much easier than doing all their extra steps. That said, you can only access their promotions if you do upload it to their site.

Depends where you are - you're probably best to go through an aggregator like Draft2Digital to do that!

Yes you can - use a service like Draft2Digital and it will be set up for you.
So do you have to have a tax ID number?
Hello. You will need one for creating the accounts as they send annual notices for tax preparation purposes and have their own reporting requirements.

sorry you have a wounderful energy, however when the tutorial geto to upload book then things go wrong- you do it too fast and the things you show is not what I see or can do guess the info is for apple products and not useful on a pc
