I have a great degree of respect for the Muslim faith and would like to learn more about it (as well as many other religions and cultures whilst on my travels). A big part of my motivation to share these videos is to showcase this to people from my home country, who may not see or otherwise want to learn about these things. By hopefully doing things in a playful way, but with a more serious purpose, I can do my bit to bring more compassion and understanding for our fellow brothers and sisters in the world. Allah hafiz 🙏
I often watch your videos, there are positive things that I get from you, you always smile happily at the people around you. Thank you for visiting my country
Hey everyone! This Surabaya adventure took me from Chinatown to Arabic markets and even a swanky colonial hotel! History, culture, and a giant pyramid - what a mix! What did you think of this trip? Where should I go next?
Hotel Majapahit was part of Mandarin Oriental Hotel many years ago. I was in Surabaya in 2000, and at that time Hotel Majapahit had the lowest occupancy compared to other hotels in the city. Many Indonesian believed that it was "haunted". During the Japanese occupation, it was also used as temporary prison for Dutch women and children before they were sent to a camp in Central Java. Lovely hotel, and the history is very interesting.

Thank you so much - I’m genuinely having fun on my adventures so I’m glad that this comes across. If it brightens people’s days watching it then that’s more than enough for me :-)
Excellent factoids. A good learn for me and I’m a know-it-all. Was Dutch East Indian Trading really bigger than the British? Bigger even than the biggest tech firms now allowing for inflation?
Indeed, bigger even than the top 20 companies combined (according to 2017 data) www.visualcapitalist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/dutchtradingcompare.jpg
Masya Allah ternyata anda orang muslim luar biasa...Aamiin.
