I really thought about it lol
I run Eotech & magnifier/Surefire on mine, but I carry 6 CR123 batteries in my stock, and I have a solar charger, battery pack, and more CR123s at home. I do have BUIS installed and quick release on my optics.
Always good to see detailed analysis on practical firearms for real-world scenarios. It's refreshing to explore options beyond the typical MK18 setup

14” barrel is in all around do it all size. Still keeping it semi-compact compared to a 20” barrel with decent range.

the single point sling is great for AR-P'z... You push out and it gets pretty stable if you don't have a stock.
my built M4A1e 300BLK bull barrel, Superlative adj. gas block, Red Dot (bottom third co-witness) MBUS, surefire mini ,under barrel laser, ambi controls, ALG ACT trigger, single pt sling, 220gr subsonic only
URGI 11.5 with RC2 PA Cyclops with 3x flip mag on a LMT ambi lower slaps pretty good too
They need to update the ACOG with better eye relief and a quick release.
My shtf right now is the DDM4A1 also but the OG RiS ii, surefire x300 turbo, arisaka handstop, holosun 515cm on arisaka 1.93, bcm mod 1 grip, magpul sl stock, geissele ssp, radian safety and charging handle.

half true. it wont last unless you at least get a really good barrel and BCG. also if you have an omni you have no room to talk.

Yup. Budget builds will for work 99% of the population. The other 1% want follow after influencers and which ever companies have the best marketing.
My wife runs a black rain ordinance with the same setup but runs a Holosun with 3x magnifier & iron sites as back up.
MAF corp also makes very affordable iron sights at $20

Rifle length gas is great.
Your SHTF weapon is the one you have with you when SHTF . If you only have a pocket knife with you it’s ride or die with that .
That’s why I keep a mk18 in my daily backpack

KRAM spacers are the solution for using an acog with iron sights

Hi clint, offer your opinion here, but i go carbine lenghth gas due to increased pressure which will clear extractions better in less than optimal situations. I believe the increased gas pressures is why the military uses carbine gas. Both my 10.5 and 14.5 use carbine.

What muzzle device are you using? DD factory or huxworx, and did it require gunsmith to install

I’m intrigued by the .308 JAKL 👍🏽 308 gives rifles a beating so I wonder how the bolt and the barrel from PSA will hold up
I have an MCX Spear 308 but I am SO in on a JAKL in 6.5CM.. I'd rather have that as a whole rifle than just a caliber conversion barrel for my Spear.
Going to sell like crazy to people with sub par expectations out of firearms.
@@KNIGHTOFSIN187 Nitride barrels have less throat erosion, more accurate and last just as long under normal semi auto fire. You don't need a chrome lined CHF barrel. It's just a marketing ploy to get you to spend more money on something that's not needed.
@@KNIGHTOFSIN187 you're not going to be shooting that much in a shtf situation. This isn't call of duty. Outside of a full auto, there is almost no benefit of having a chrome lined CHF barrel over a nitrided. Have no problem going with a nitrided barrel in a shtf situation.

My current shtf is actually bigger than yours Clint. It’s an armalite tac18, Arken lpvo, streamlight pro tac weapon light, and mag pul foregrip that I cut the bottom on a 30 degree angle. I feel the 18 inch barrel gives the 5.56 the best ballistic performance with full powder burn to reach out to 5-600 meters accurately. Now obviously it’s not CQB rifle but two pins pulled and a 300blk upper and now we’re rocking and rolling

Did you have to swap the stock pinned/welded flash hider for the suppresor. If so what did you end up swapping with?
DDM4A1 RIII comes with an A2 bird cage. I think there are variants with other muzzles, but mine came with A2 bird cage. He's using a huxwrx flow, so I think he has the huxwrx flash hider as well. If you want to use Surefire products, you'll need surefire's muzzle devices as well.

Not exclusive to Clint’s build but when I see a rifle with a DD RIS II or III and quality stuff all around- immediate upvote.
I've got a 10.5" 300 AAC. After mounting the new night vision scope, the IR Illuminator and the external battery pack, the switchpad for my light is way too far forward. I only have picattiny rail on the top. Is there a way to mount the pad on the M-Lok on the side?
Yes. There are pic rail Mlok adapters you can use. You can also get a switch that directly mounts to Mlok.

Clint, I think for you and, your area. Showing what you have on your setup for your environment, everything makes sense imhop. An individual has to setup their rifle for their environment that they live in. No two rifles are the same and. I think you do need a few different setups depending on your where, our what life dictates too you. Great information as always. 👍🏻👍🏻
Tip of the day - I keep 2 of the 2032 batteries taped to my slings with 200 mph tape, you can also do the same with 123 batteries as well if you have an optic using those, I position them on the butt end of my slings and they are out of the way...
My MFT pistol grip and BCM vert grip both have storage for this reason. Small lube bottle in back grip and batteries in front grip.

Around town I am rolling with my P365 XMacro with my Holosun 507K GR and TLR-7 1913 sub. Home defense is CMMG Banshee MkGs 8" 9mm with 33rd mags of Speer Gold dot, along with Streamlight Protac HLX and Holosun 510C. SHTF is Stag15 Tactical 16" with Streamlight Protac HLX, Holosun 403B GR with Holosun HM3X.
My M4A1 has become my shtf rifle... almost as practical as my MK18, but a lot more velocity/reach.
Agree, (YT) "Tactical Hive" Coch did a great video few of years ago on barrel lengths using reems of paper to show terminal velocity and total fragmentation. If I remember correctly over 2400ftps. Is needed to get total frag , under that...stayed intact and went clean through .

His only reasoning that they are not 2A is that a lot of their products go to the civilian market and stuff that they do make for the military they also sell to civilians...ya because they are a business and want to make as much money as they can.....not convincing at all.
My SHTF rifle is my 16" diamondback 5.56NATO AR15 with a MFT vertical grip with a battery compartment for my comms batteries and a hogue buttstock and magpul pistol grip with a battery compartment for my optic. I have iron flip up sights along with a 3x magnifier and a sig sauer romeo MSR

I have an AR with a fat scope. Gave up on the rear iron sight. It's stuffed into the pistol grip. I'd have to slide it back on the rail if I broke my scope.
Any firearm aslong as you are train on it can be used in shtf situation

Shoot, my 7.5 BCA side charger will run with any MK18, I slapped a Sightmark lazer sight on it and I can hit targets out to 750 yards all day long.
Its my go to war rifle and it cost a fraction of any gucci rifle. Gives me more money for natty light and Pit Viper shades.
