As someone who is an Amazing Race superfan and already knew a lot of these secrets, fact 31 completely shocked me. It makes sense now, considering the tasks on that Bangkok leg were very mediocre.
I heard that they were supposed to go to Laos in 19 however they had to replace it for another Thailand leg (leg 5), so I can’t believe it happened twice.
I imagine if there would be "The Amazing Race: World Star" which the teams picked from all version of The Amazing Race around the world. Picked some from US, Asian, Latin, Australian, Canadian version, etc. Would it be fun to watch if this is happening?
Ideally, great idea. Realistically, a logistic nightmare. Note that every single team MUST have approved visas on ALL locations that the season will be travelling to. Some countries/nationalities may have easier approvals than others.
@@ichanppc of course. The casting team needs to be more picky, for example do more research of each team's background (political relationship between the teams citizenship and the country they visit) and choose the team from countries that have powerful passport so they don't need to make visa in the embassy (I think, I'm not sure what kind of visa the amazing race teams and production team use). But I believe it'll be more fun to watch, cause the teams also fight for the name of their countries, like athletes in Olympic. Then probably will reach more viewers.
My favorite show of all time! The Amazing Race is just an amazing show! I read the entire 20 year anniversary interview they did and it was so amazing! I wonder if I will see any in this list!
As an Airline Employee, Phil's explanation for #30 is spot on... it's up to the Captain who, likely seeing them waving through the window of the terminal, decides whether or not to get blamed for the delay in order to allow people on board that may have been late. Begging the Gate Agent doesn't help, but the Pilot will not let the plane leave if they choose to let a passenger on...
Saw amazing race being filmed in Puerto Vallarta in oct.2022. 5 teams ran by me with a cameraman filming them. I was yelling and screaming "go amazing race". Couple of bars had patrons screaming at racers too. It was on beach promenade Malecon. Cool!🤩🤩🤩😎😎😎😎
Interesting to know! I started watching the show this month. I began with season 32 and now I'm going backwards. It's so fun, but I'm have an awful luck because every team I was rooting for lost and the teams I absolutely didn't want to win... won. So yeah... Next is season 29 and I hope it's a good one
I am always fascinated by the logistics of Amazing Race. That's a lot of countries to plan, a lot of permits to get, Visas to process, etc... I'd love to know if there was some place they tried to go, but they couldn't get permission from the different governments. I know they said Antarctica, but that was a different issue.
One of the "secrets" mentioned was about drinking a beer on the race with Chris and Bret from season 31. I forget which season it was, but there was a challenge in Germany where they had to carry a tray of beers from a bar into another establishment, and I'm almost positive that one of the racers actually took a swig of beer from the glass before continuing. Again, can't remember the season nor the team, but I'm almost positive it happened.
I've been a fan for a long time but I started probably a handful of seasons in but I always wondered how they got all the tasks and things orginazied that they had to do an each leg of the race
I think it is a possibility Uchenna and Joyce did it themselves (they did have a camera man and a sound guy with them so they looked like they were on TV), but I do think the chances are higher that production stepped in.
The cameraman told my niece that Joyce was so distraught (and being filmed being so distraught so she must be important) that the gate attendant asked the pilot if he would be willing to let them on, thinking it was literally life or death and not realizing it was just a race for a million dollars.
The thing is, Phil said that it’s the PIC (Pilot In Command)’s choice to bring the plane back to the gate. While that is TECHNICALLY true, it doesn’t tell the whole story. There are consequences for every choice a pilot makes. If production reached out to American Airlines and told them that, for the sake of the show, the flight needed to return to the gate, and dispatch sent an ACARS message to the pilots, and the Captain decided NOT to return to the gate, what kind of repercussions would he have faced? As an airline pilot myself, if operations or dispatch tells you to return to the gate, you do it. It’s not really up for debate. So sorry Phil, show production totally could’ve bribed the airline to tell the pilots to return to gate.
@@Anakinskywalkerfan1I agree. There’s other videos that have been commented on about this. Others have said that because CBS has rights to survivor, and both Rob/amber had each won their seasons on survivor. Have nothing to do with this video, but the worse team the Amazing Race put together was Mallory and Mark. Mallory is so dump. The should had partner Mark with Lake from season 9 are with Chuck from season 22 and another Chunk are Ryan from season 7.
Amazing race. Season 4 - Debra is SO OBESE. Because of her, she delayed other teams. In future, you have to put a very strict clause that contestants must be extremely fit, their BMI should be 25 to 28. Their weight should be up to 65 kg (for ladies). For men, it should be up to 90 kg. They need to do a trial test before they are cleared for the actual amazing race. •Why bother risking TAR's credibility. TAR US is distributed in many Countries including Malaysia, Indonesia,Brunei,Saudi Arabia,Pakistan. A season featuring Israel will receive boycotts from BDS and simply Human Beings. The goal here is to maximize profits & keep sponsors happy
● Lastly,Sponsors play a huge role in deciding which country gets blacklisted from ever being visited. Sponsors need to appear as neutral as possible. Thus, it can make Sponsors go mad & Blacklist TAR from doing deals again.
That's why TAR has avoided India,Thailand,Turkey,China,Kenya,Uganda,South Africa,Egypt in recent seasons.
I think Rob and Amber are probably bored in real life.
I read that they have 4 or 5 kids. So definitely not bored. More like exhausted.
@@lizsays3324 they have 4 girls. You can bored when very busy
This is more like a reunion / gossip on the competitors- I was expecting more about the production process, background, rules, what competitors did in their downtime etc. Disappointed.
I think the new ones I made in 2023 would suit your tastes better then.
If they fail at their first attempt, they cannot appeal, and neither should they be given a second chance.
:-)
Noice
They missed the fact that multiple people gave wrong directions intentionally in 30 .....and u missed the the fight at the end of 24 ...u missed the nail incident in 31 ,u missed the unaired head to head.. Because u are not a hard core fan...but all these secrets a lovely
This video is not about every secret ever, just the ones I found interesting. But, if you have links to prove any other secrets then they could be included in the next video.
Sadly I don't think we will see another season I think covid killed it for good.
They announced yesterday that they are planning on shooting 33 this year :)
