To me, Kiana’s voice is perfect. She doesn’t need a deep, depressing voice to make it seems like she has matured. Her voice is just how it is, and she’s still a mature girl. I really like it, she can be a whole different person but still is herself.
Same here, the difference between how Valkyrie ranger and void drifter speak is a perfect way to see how kiana has grown, I was really impressed by How powerful she sounded here.

This chapter shows something special. in "Lament ofthe Fallen" Mei makes a hard decision in order to protect Kiana, who keeps hurting herself because "It's my Mission" This time, all comes around and Kiana realizes Fu-Hua is the same as her past self, sacrifice towards the mission. Truly a masterpiece
No Kiana's case are different than from Mei's case Kiana want to take back and protect Fu Hua so her daily lives can return with her in it Her missions is to protect everyone tho atm she is indeed hurting herself cause she can't fully control it and that she lacks the power to do so While in Mei's case she want to protect Kiana even at the cost of her life which is very wrong, whatever the results of this will ended up in another tragedy Its either Kiana lost Mei cause she will nvr return to her or its Mei the one who loses Kiana There's no happy ending in Mei's decision just one sided self satisfaction See the different?

I think Fu Hua may be the best concept for a Herrscher we've had so far. Unlike the other Herrscher's, who were all essentially their own personality (even if a few were just broken pieces of Sirin), the Herrscher of Sentience IS just Fu Hua, through and through, just the same as any of Feathers is Fu Hua, she's another piece her, just made manifest through Honkai energy. She wasn't wrong to assume she was Fu Hua, as technically, she is, and still is, there's nothing inherently evil about her either, she is just being the way that she thinks she should be, which leads to her being so pissed off when Kiana, who she assumed she'd grown a bond with, rejected her entirely, but at the same time, Kiana was well within her right to reject her, as she knew the reality that this Fu Hua refused to accept. I love it. That and this one is so so fun to play
I think you might have got it wrong. the story often emphasizes the concept of soul as a unique and irreplaceable entity. Fu Hua's feathers are not autonomous, they are single-purpose projections and you could notice that in many cases she actually treats them as such (she feels some sentiment but in the end feathers are not real people to her; this is also why HoS treats Fu Hua the way she does -- it was a behavior learnt from the inherited memories). also the story tries to tell that the actual experiences shape the person and the recollection of experiences is secondary: Fu Hua had a habit of storing her less important memories within feathers and a bunch of those were lost during 2nd impact; but she still remains herself despite that. HoS on the other hand is a whole new persona with borrowed memory. and characters that know Fu Hua well immediately recognize "Hua" as another person
Hos is not fu hua, the point of Hos is that she ended up being dominated by the memories of the fu hua and thought she was revived, only in the end she realizes that she is not the fu hua and is fooling herself all the time making it seem ironic because her skill is to manipulate and deceive
Both are good on their own, it really just depends on preferences. (I actually prefer the Japanese Dub not just because I'm a weeb. But d*mn it sure makes me feel emotions. (Haven't reached this part of the story yet, so yeah. I just spoiled myself and I'm crying now. D*mn it. 😢)
@@angkunehonghindimakali For me it's more that I can't for the life of me, figure nuances in Chinese speech at all (not bashing it, I just say that I can't on my end). In many of the Chinese version I have a real hard time to differentiate many of the character voices that to my hears sounds very much alike (even when coming form different character and VA) and is less expressive (or more stoic) than the Japanese dub. Sure I know the Chinese voices are quality and give some great lines here and there, but for me it is lost since the rest seems weak to my ears and that I have to keep pausing and decipher the scene intention to figure who just said which lines in many places.

Actually they are said "Destiny" not "Mission" , CN youtuber tell it and also in Indonesian subtitle, it written "Takdir (Destiny)" idk with other language what its written. And behind that, sometimes the English sub change a lot & make it quite far from the real meaning of sentences,, such as in the Lament of the Fallen video which actually Mei tell Kiana "If she more important than the world" not "if world is meant nothing without her" and Indonesian & China have same sentences written,, Well,, Eng sub is nice and have same meaning but i think its kinda give different feeling,, Idk why Mihoyo doesn't make english translation same with the origin🤔
@@muhammadfajarismail7228 a mission can be interpreted as something you have to do out of personal obligation, or something you want to do because it's the only right thing to do. In other words, she has no other choice but to do that, since it's the only way she can achieve her objective. That's why the translator chose the word mission, instead of destiny. Not to mention that it makes more sense in japanese (and english), context wise. PS: Literal translations suck.
5:18 to the end is the best part. Fu Hua will always be my favorite character, it’s incredible how they wrote a character with many lives so well, despite us humans only ever living one.
I think Fu Hua was born 50000 years too soon. She was meant to meet Kiana, hence why the MANTIS enhancements made her immortal. It was Fate's way of fixing its blunder.

Same with Fu Hua. She sounds kind of neutral when Kiana appears in the seal in Chinese, but here, she sounds both touched and worried for her dear friend.
HoS in CN and JP displays one spectrum of HoS personality. So in the end its up to the preference we can really see what she really is when Mihoyo says about HoS and both CN and JP just displayed one and not entirety based on voice acting alone

Coming here from the future it’s so funny that now they’re buddies, the “Senti” nickname is canon, and that Kiana trusts her enough to fight her in her own liminal space just to blow off steam, AND she knows Senti won’t kill her. Kiana going all “you’re better than that, what’s wrong Senti? HIT ME HARDER DAMMIT!” during their rematch will never stop being funny to me.
Fu Hua is one of the best characters I've ever seen, her past and the concept of immortality that transcends the divine key and her confrontation with the herrscher of sentience, is without a doubt one of the best things Hoyoverse has done, by far one of my favorite characters. I'm crying.
Everytime I hear JP HoS, I always see Detective Conan's face. However, really respect Minami san since she is 56 years old now and she tries to voice a childish HoS scream ;-;
I'm so proud of Kiana of being in control of her powers, she wasn't even fully during her fight with Mei seen as she still has 2 different eye colours, but this she's got both her blue eyes.
@@dyson6587 Fuka help here is arguably not needed when she transform into Herrscher since we can see that after Fuka went out of her way just to seal HoS after she left Kiana still is in Herrscher form and use her Honkai power(presumably her power about space and dimension stuff from being HoV) to goin and rescue Fuka.
It's kinda funny that in the reawakening trailer, HoS of the chn dub sound so sad and depressing while the jpn one sound like a lunatic, but now it's the opposite.

The fact that despite having such an old voice, you can hear that HoS is immature and quite literally “born yesterday” compared to FuHua. Sometimes I hear the deeper voice of Kiana and thought that’s her Herrscher voice speaking, but maybe it’s just her tone.
I think Kiana’s va just does a better job in general. I find the chinese voice actor for kiana often talks way to calmly considering the situation and how the character is reacting.

I love FuHua so much, I’m so happy that she finally had a friend that fought to keep her around. She’s been through so much heart break and devastation. Now she found people who love and fight for her as much as she has loved and fought for humanity

Kiana has grown so much since the story started... Amazing plot/character development. From a headstrong girl putting herself in harms way, to learning her past, to accepting her past and pressing on despite it, to now seeing the cost of needless self sacrifice. It’s incredible that this is a mobile game. Not to mention that every CG leaves us (me, at least) in tears.
I'll never get over this cutscene, Fu hua and Kiana are my favs and seeing that Kiana going all the way to rescue Fu hua and not let her all by herself, plus this song and cutscene, it's just impossible for me to not cry
i wish mihoyo put effort into the japanese version more though imo why because there alot cutscene in the game that had no voice at allfor the japanese version compare to the chinese which really bother me to this day this
I feel so bad to Fu Hua seeing all her love ones died infront of her and she cant be with them because shes immortal this story is so sad that I want Fu Hua to rest eternally just to find her peace and at the same time I want her to live more with them
Part of her character progression as an immortal in a mortal realm would have to be coming to terms with her longevity and accepting that as time passes, her friends will move on without her, but instead of being sad, she should rejoice their lives and fondly remember their time alive rather than wallowing in pity and despair at feeling so alone.

Still well done. I prefer the JP voice for normal FuHua since it fits her "immortal" persona much better. However, CN voice for HoS fits her more as she sounds more like a child throwing a tantrum. BUT JP voice for HoS still works for her just as well.
I'm not sure whether the chinese has the same meanings, but I felt the word choices were a bit awkward. e.g., given HoS's petulance, I was expecting her to say something like kisamara, rather than anatatachi, or even the shortened antatachi. Also CN Kiana's emphasis on the individual syllables of Eminence gave it more impact there, imo. SHEn-GUn vs Shin-un.

Why everyone being so critical about what i feel like the 'slight' variation between CN & JPN dub. I mean, CN ver comes out 3 weeks ago, & yes, u probably are more used to it coz u might have watched CN ver like 10 times already (like me). but to shrug of JPN ver as inferior i feel is discrediting & undermining the hard work Mihoyo have put in for both version. On the whole, the spirit & emotion of the story has been perfectly retained in JPN ver. U just need to watch JPN ver few more times to get used to it, & dem feels will hit just as hard. They really did such a good job with this fuhua arc, & IMO both CN & JPN dubs has done the story justice😭 Well done Mihoyo💪💪
I got goosebumps watching this one as if I didn't watch it 100 times in the CN dub. I understood this one better (since I don't speak mandarin). The only thing I wish they did was distort HoS voice more towards the end. Usually the japanese dub has more emotions, but I was not disappointed in the slightest.
It's not because we already got used to Cn dub, it because Jp dub is unfit with the situation in this animation. The point in this animation is to show HOS mad at kiana and hate her because she doesn't listen to her and do what she wants, well i'm expecting HOS Jp dub is similiar like betelgeuse but i think mihoyo just to lazy to make HOS Jp dub looks more crazier than Cn dub

pianos are beuatiful instruments where im used to hearing energetic ones with some occasional sad tones but now...the piano paired with honkai animated shorts has mentally carved sadness in my memory these are true beauty and i can only applaud your work and unknowingly find a way of support to mihoyo and truly...i need a break from anything piano related my eyes actually hurt cause there are constant tears despite not being able to barely cry in a while
I think the Chinese VA and Japanese VA of HOS has a different conveying emotion in the way their talking The Chinese VA conveys a rage expression in the way she talks that is appropriate in the scene's mood While the Japanese VA conveys a crying expression(or asking for sympathy) that is appropriate to her background story because she just want a friend that can prove her existence is the real one. Well for me both Chinese version and Japanese version has some good parts and some flaws but in the end why the heck I'm crying again even though I watched this for at least 20 times this really hits my heart damn you MIHOYO and also thanks for giving us a godlike game .
It took me awhile to appreciate what actually happened here but I think it's kiana's biggest feat. She had an immortal traumadump everything on her. Enough pain and betrayal to make someone suicidal a dozen times over. Not just saying it, but making kiana experience all of it in a matter of seconds to try desperately to push her away. And kiana, having broken out of her own personal hell already, *shrugs it all off like it's nothing.*
I started Honkai when the event with this scene came out. Coming back to it a year later and I can't help but tear up at it. The music, the presentation, everything about it is just a masterpiece.
To be honest, both dubs are amazing. What JP dub lacks on the action parts it amplifies on the emotional parts of Kiana trying to save Fu Hua. For me, the CN dub nailed HoS's battlecries and showing extreme aggression and anger, but lacks on Kiana's emotional lines, whereas in the JP dub, it lacks the battlecries of HoS, not being able to reach the same aggression the one CN dub had, but really amplifying Kiana's emotions during her lines where CN dub Kiana I personally think lacked emotion. Both are extremely good in certain aspects, which is why we shouldn't really compare it to the latter. Both are inherently good, and both aren't bad as well, so let's just pick the type we like as there is no reason for us to say something is better or something is worse, it's all preference after all.
I agree on those statements, CN HOS and JP Kiana is my preferred choice, but JP HOS makes her sound a bit like a sad child throwing a tantrum whereas CN HOS sounds like a teen finally getting angry at their parents, but combining both makes it very similar to storywise depiction so its really hard to choose.
I agree and it also depends on the preference of a person. Like for me. I prefer Japanese cause I’m familiar more on the language but that doesn’t mean that I think it’s better than any other languages when it comes to dubbing. CN dub did a good job on dubbing as well

I think Fu Hua may be the best concept for a Herrscher we've had so far.
Unlike the other Herrscher's, who were all essentially their own personality (even if a few were just broken pieces of Sirin), the Herrscher of Sentience IS just Fu Hua, through and through, just the same as any of Feathers is Fu Hua, she's another piece her, just made manifest through Honkai energy. She wasn't wrong to assume she was Fu Hua, as technically, she is, and still is, there's nothing inherently evil about her either, she is just being the way that she thinks she should be, which leads to her being so pissed off when Kiana, who she assumed she'd grown a bond with, rejected her entirely, but at the same time, Kiana was well within her right to reject her, as she knew the reality that this Fu Hua refused to accept. I love it.

I think you might have got it wrong. the story often emphasizes the concept of soul as a unique and irreplaceable entity. Fu Hua's feathers are not autonomous, they are single-purpose projections and you could notice that in many cases she actually treats them as such (she feels some sentiment but in the end feathers are not real people to her; this is also why HoS treats Fu Hua the way she does -- it was a behavior learnt from the inherited memories). also the story tries to tell that the actual experiences shape the person and the recollection of experiences is secondary: Fu Hua had a habit of storing her less important memories within feathers and a bunch of those were lost during 2nd impact; but she still remains herself despite that. HoS on the other hand is a whole new persona with borrowed memory. and characters that know Fu Hua well immediately recognize "Hua" as another person

In many of the Chinese version I have a real hard time to differentiate many of the character voices that to my hears sounds very much alike (even when coming form different character and VA) and is less expressive (or more stoic) than the Japanese dub. Sure I know the Chinese voices are quality and give some great lines here and there, but for me it is lost since the rest seems weak to my ears and that I have to keep pausing and decipher the scene intention to figure who just said which lines in many places.

In other words, she has no other choice but to do that, since it's the only way she can achieve her objective. That's why the translator chose the word mission, instead of destiny. Not to mention that it makes more sense in japanese (and english), context wise.

Fu Hua is one of the best characters I've ever seen, her past and the concept of immortality that transcends the divine key and her confrontation with the herrscher of sentience, is without a doubt one of the best things Hoyoverse has done, by far one of my favorite characters. I'm crying.

Part of her character progression as an immortal in a mortal realm would have to be coming to terms with her longevity and accepting that as time passes, her friends will move on without her, but instead of being sad, she should rejoice their lives and fondly remember their time alive rather than wallowing in pity and despair at feeling so alone.

Still well done. I prefer the JP voice for normal FuHua since it fits her "immortal" persona much better. However, CN voice for HoS fits her more as she sounds more like a child throwing a tantrum. BUT JP voice for HoS still works for her just as well.
I'm not sure whether the chinese has the same meanings, but I felt the word choices were a bit awkward. e.g., given HoS's petulance, I was expecting her to say something like kisamara, rather than anatatachi, or even the shortened antatachi. Also CN Kiana's emphasis on the individual syllables of Eminence gave it more impact there, imo. SHEn-GUn vs Shin-un.

but to shrug of JPN ver as inferior i feel is discrediting & undermining the hard work Mihoyo have put in for both version. On the whole, the spirit & emotion of the story has been perfectly retained in JPN ver. U just need to watch JPN ver few more times to get used to it, & dem feels will hit just as hard.

I got goosebumps watching this one as if I didn't watch it 100 times in the CN dub. I understood this one better (since I don't speak mandarin). The only thing I wish they did was distort HoS voice more towards the end. Usually the japanese dub has more emotions, but I was not disappointed in the slightest.
That's why for me, I decided to wait till JP version released, I forced myself to not watch the CN one, and it's all worth it 🤧

The point in this animation is to show HOS mad at kiana and hate her because she doesn't listen to her and do what she wants, well i'm expecting HOS Jp dub is similiar like betelgeuse but i think mihoyo just to lazy to make HOS Jp dub looks more crazier than Cn dub

pianos are beuatiful instruments where im used to hearing energetic ones with some occasional sad tones but now...the piano paired with honkai animated shorts has mentally carved sadness in my memory
these are true beauty and i can only applaud your work and unknowingly find a way of support to mihoyo and truly...i need a break from anything piano related my eyes actually hurt cause there are constant tears despite not being able to barely cry in a while

I think the Chinese VA and Japanese VA of HOS has a different conveying emotion in the way their talking
The Chinese VA conveys a rage expression in the way she talks that is appropriate in the scene's mood
While the Japanese VA conveys a crying expression(or asking for sympathy) that is appropriate to her background story because she just want a friend that can prove her existence is the real one.
Well for me both Chinese version and Japanese version has some good parts and some flaws but in the end why the heck I'm crying again even though I watched this for at least 20 times this really hits my heart damn you MIHOYO and also thanks for giving us a godlike game .
It took me awhile to appreciate what actually happened here but I think it's kiana's biggest feat.
She had an immortal traumadump everything on her. Enough pain and betrayal to make someone suicidal a dozen times over. Not just saying it, but making kiana experience all of it in a matter of seconds to try desperately to push her away.
And kiana, having broken out of her own personal hell already, *shrugs it all off like it's nothing.*

I started Honkai when the event with this scene came out. Coming back to it a year later and I can't help but tear up at it. The music, the presentation, everything about it is just a masterpiece.
The words "until here, everything changed" were very close to my heart, making me cry without tears

To be honest, both dubs are amazing. What JP dub lacks on the action parts it amplifies on the emotional parts of Kiana trying to save Fu Hua. For me, the CN dub nailed HoS's battlecries and showing extreme aggression and anger, but lacks on Kiana's emotional lines, whereas in the JP dub, it lacks the battlecries of HoS, not being able to reach the same aggression the one CN dub had, but really amplifying Kiana's emotions during her lines where CN dub Kiana I personally think lacked emotion. Both are extremely good in certain aspects, which is why we shouldn't really compare it to the latter. Both are inherently good, and both aren't bad as well, so let's just pick the type we like as there is no reason for us to say something is better or something is worse, it's all preference after all.
I agree on those statements, CN HOS and JP Kiana is my preferred choice, but JP HOS makes her sound a bit like a sad child throwing a tantrum whereas CN HOS sounds like a teen finally getting angry at their parents, but combining both makes it very similar to storywise depiction so its really hard to choose.
I agree and it also depends on the preference of a person. Like for me. I prefer Japanese cause I’m familiar more on the language but that doesn’t mean that I think it’s better than any other languages when it comes to dubbing. CN dub did a good job on dubbing as well
