  • Saturday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the New York Rangers for their first of two home games this weekend. Pittsburgh started the scoring with a blast from the point by John Ludvig, who has two goals in two games. The Rangers answered right back with two goals of their own by Kaapo Kakko and Adam Fox. Later in the 1st, Bryan Rust tied the game at two goals aside. But once again, the Rangers had an answer to take the lead again. Artemi Panarin scored his first of the night. The 2nd period saw only power-play goals. Lars Eller scored his 13th of the season. Eller's goal was answered by New York with Panarin's second goal and a follow-up goal by Mika Zibanejad. K'Andre Miller started the scoring in the third to extend the Rangers lead to 6-3. Valtteri Puustinen tried changing the momentum with his goal late in the 3rd, but it was not enough. Chris Kreider secured the win for New York with a final score of 7-4.

    They're in the worst place possible. Too bad for playoffs and too good to get top draft picks.

      Based on their remaining schedule, and the way they've been playing, they could finish with the fourth worst record, in the league, which would give them a chance at the #1 overall pick...not a huge chance at it, but a chance at it. It'd still be a top seven pick, guaranteed.

      @@RonaldoMessibothok No, Sully's been the problem with this team since 2020. He has, very obviously, lost the locker room, which is why the team has played with zero heart and resilience, since the beginning of 2020. Before the league shutdown the season, early in the 19-20 season, they'd lost eight of their last twelve, against mediocre teams, and then were, easily knocked out of the play-in-round, by a much lesser Montreal team...and it's been the same since....no heart, no resilience, no direction.

    As a Ranger fan (who was there): the Penguins deserved this one, Jonathan Quick basically stole it despite letting in four. If the Penguins can get that effort and Goaltending (Jarry wasn't even bad tbh) consistently they'd be in a better place.

    • @jsebby2284
      @jsebby2284 6 месяцев назад +2

      I wouldn't say quick stole it as much as the Pens just blew it.
      And goaltending has actually been the best part of their team - and pretty damn consistent

      It's been ridiculous, all season. Pause the video on the scoring shot and look at the Pens' defenders...usually way out of position, or blocking the goaltender's view of the shot.
