What about how to remove the button on top of the lock? Sun and heat melt the rubber and I would like to change it on my own, any advice or guide I can follow?
HI. you may not reply cause this is an old video. But I found it so helpful. My boot opens intermittent. All other doors open fine with central locking. Boots a problem. I have to climb in to open it. Which is a nuisance. Can you let me know please which lock I need to buy to try replace the old one. Mines a 2009 clio dynamique 1.2 16v petrol. Id really appreciate it. Thanks
Hi, all Clio Mk3 hatchback models use the same boot lock, so as long as the lock is for the Mk3 (years 2006 to 2012) it should be suitable for your vehicle.
Hi buddy I've just done this on my mk3 and the boot is working again with a new catch but I still have the issue of the boot being open and the central locking won't shut in the door. If I put the new lock in but leave the electrics out the car central locks again, any idea buddy?
You need to access the boot from the interior of the car by folding down the seats and/or removing the parcel shelf. The inner boot trim panel has a small cut-out next to the lock. In this cut-out you can see a small clear piece of plastic with a slit in it, use a small screwdriver in the slit to slide the piece of plastic inside across to one side to pop the boot open.

Does the lock operate the boot light? Mine is always on.
Hi, yes the micro-switch that tells the car if the boot is open is part of the lock.
This is fine if you can open it but what if it’s shut and won’t open?

There is a little while tab- square shaped. Push it towards the driver's side.
