looks like a nice necker. made short work of that log. That sausage realy looked good. I agree anything coked over a fire is mighty tasty. thanks for sharing atb John
2:45 Symplocarpus Foetidus - "Skunk Cabbage". For the most part this is NOT a wild edible. It is said to have some medicinal properties but the roots are toxic and the leaves are not pleasant. Snap open a leaf and give it a sniff, you will forever remember it as skunk cabbage.
SurvivalTech Nord Thanks for watching .It was some apple smoked sausage. I always get the nitrate free, hormone free stuff when I buy sausage or bacon.
Living Survival I would like to see that, really. Ben, you're getting sharper and efficient in your videos. You're really cutting the fat and leaving all the pertinent stuff.
Living Survival You're welcome. I don't know if you are into throwing knives or bladed weapons but I am doing a community blade throwing video and it would be great to have you in there. Let me know. Have a great day.
Cant wait for my Bk11 to arrive! I got a Ka bar usmc and i love it! Its my end of the world blade but i need a smaller knife that i can carry everyday thats built like a tank and wont get in the way! Itll be my Case mini copperlock in antique bone buddy 😂
That sausage looked amazing! That sounds kinda weird but you know what I mean. I have been slowly converting to neck knives too. They are so convenient in the bush.
I have been toying with the idea of getting a neck knife, you have helped with the debate, Thanks I guess I have decided I like it but it is not for all occasions ! I really don't want some goof choking me out with it . That knot works really slick with a necklace too.! Good Video
You are so right Ben, everything is amazing cooked over a fire. Interesting on the Miso soup. I've never had it but have been tempted to buy it a few times. I'll pick some up. It's cool the way you're hitting up the plant ID. I am really looking forward to seeing where you take this. Thanks Ben!
Feral Woodcraft yes, pretty sure i have seen many of them just need to find them again. I know I have found mullen, dandelion, mayapple but want to find some more.
I've had my BK 11 less than a week now...I purchased it from ***** and I love it so far...the quality of the steel is top notch! He said that he had really beat the heck out of it and all I really see is the powder coating gone from the blade...slightly rounded from batonning...not a bad investment I'd say and will use this fella quite a bit...now what kind of soup was that?...I got to see if we can get some at the store....I love ramen but that stuff is salty...
Thanks Ben, Nice neck knife. I just picked up the ESEE IZULA. I am using it for my EDC. I haven't tried it around the neck yet. Love the taste of food over a fire.
Few questions Living Survival: 1. The log obviously looked saw cut. I'm guessing you had the saw packed with you? What kind of saw was it? 2. How did you mount that sapling that was holding your cook pot? 3. How do you find the comfort of the skeleton knife? Does it hurt your hands at all? 4. What brand of Miso Soup was that you had? I'd like to try to buy some myself!
+Dan Schwemin Jr yes saw cut. I use a laplander. just made a spear tip on the end of the sapling and stuck it in the ground. i like the feel of the knife and have since wrapped with paracord. not sure onthe brand. sorry.
Good n hefty neck knife. There are some good "survival" playing cards with wild edibles and their descriptions on each. Im going to buy a pack soon (If they are about plants in my area)
I prefer the BK 14 EsKaBar over the BK 11 because the handle, especially the end is a bit uncomfortable to me. And I don't need the bottle-opener-gadget. You can add also handle scales tp the BK 14 that cover the handle nearly completely to upgrade erconomics of this knife to another level. I wear mine with a handcrafted kydex sheath as edc and dumped the original sheath because I had the same experience as lots of people have with that sheath: it dulls the edge due to the glass fibre reinforcement of the plastic. Question: the baton and the piece of wood you processed looked as they were sawn to proper length. What saw do you use or prefer for those day hikes?
From a review of about a year ago, I got that the BK11 might have a problem going dull very quickly just from using the sheath. What's your take? Also, are you concerned about carcinogens from that blackened meat?
Black Wolf I sharpen mine after a few days in the woods so really haven't noticed it getting overly dull considering what I use it for. Not worried at all on the mean, I use hardwoods on purpose.
Great video my friend. I really like that BK 11 that's a nice neck knife. I only a couple of them. Just not a real nice one. I just need to find the right one. So now that you cooked that food in front of me. I got to go find something to eat you made me hungry. Lol. atb, Matt
Great review of the BK11 neck knife. Nice job batoning a 5" log with a 3" blade. (Give or take)
Survival On Purpose it works, if needed.
The bk11 is a nice piece of steel, I recommend them all the time for folks who want a necker...
TheSmokinApe yeah. light and useful.
Nice neck knife skills! I like the adjustable paracord lanyard.
Canadian Prepper thanks.
looks like a nice necker. made short work of that log. That sausage realy looked good. I agree anything coked over a fire is mighty tasty. thanks for sharing atb John

Very good simple day camping video. Excellent para cord knot skills. BK 11 is quite handy. I prefer mine in the side pocket of the cargo shorts.
Thanks

I have an older Toaks 750ml without the bail. It's been a great piece of gear. I want to pick up one of these newer models with the bail.

Great video. I have the same Toaks, love it. The BK11 is a beast. Thx for sharing.

Hello mr living survival I was wonder if you have ever done a review on the condor 3 day assault pack
Franklin Pengelly Sure have, go back in my videos.
Question to you ben, do you tend to lean toward ultra light gear, or is that not a priority?
Azvoltman yes, any time I can make it lighter (without sacrificing quality) I go for it. makes a huge difference overall.
enjoyed the video..thanks for sharing. what pack is that?
Great video my friend. I really like that BK 11 that's a nice neck knife. I only a couple of them. Just not a real nice one. I just need to find the right one. So now that you cooked that food in front of me. I got to go find something to eat you made me hungry. Lol. atb, Matt
