If you’re taking the test always go on a Monday like I did there were around a good hundred or 200 people taking their driving test each driving test lasted about five minutes or less. My chest consist of normal uses of all the vehicles mechanics the only driving part consisted of backing out on the opposite side of traffic in a parking lot parking with the front end forward stopping quickly within 50 m and performing a turn. Make sure when you do your driving test you complement the driving instructor. Ask them how their days going and even if you want to pretend to be something or not because what people don’t like talking about is that the end of the day they had their own personal thoughts and opinions and if they don’t like you, they’ll just fail youand it may be illegal but how are you going to prove that you didn’t failed because you made a mistake there’s no cameras that’s always why you please whoever you need to please get what you want and they suck in the moment but it’s worth it

At the end he went on a tirade on how I messed up on like five different things and was basically yelling at me, the very last thing he said to me before getting out of the car was “OKAY…now follow me inside so we can get a photo for your license.”

At a intersection decide At which point you won’t be able to stop if the lights turn yellow cause if you go through the yellow unnecessary that’s a fail. Little tips/reminders for the driving test.
    1. You can recite all you're doing before starting the car so the examiner sees you have a safety routine
    2. Always remember to buckle up and TELL THE EXAMINER TO BUCKLE UP. Most likely he (in my case was a he) will do it by himself, but if you start driving and he's without his seatbelt you will fail
    3. Seatbelt never goes off until the car is fully parked and turned off
    4. Always start the car with the brake and the clutch (if you have one) pressed.
    5. *Minimum speed is the one that allows the free flow of traffic* (if you see one car tailgating you he's overspeeding. If you see a line of cars tailgating you, YOU are the problem)
    6. CHECK YOUR BLIND SPOTS. I almost failed for that
    That's it. Good luck

Said I "looked forward while reversing" (next test I didn't double check and went forward accidentally cause I was freaking out the whole time, I did pass the second time tho)
    2. I was told to simulate parking on a hill. I live in Florida so parking on hills isn't exactly something you'll run into here, but regardless I knew what to do. Turn the wheels, put it in park, hit the parking brake. He said I didn't turn the car off and take the keys out. I took my driving test during Covid. I walked into the DMV, told them I was there till take the test, and was told to drive around to the back of the building. When I got to the back the instructor was waiting and told me to turn into a parking space, I did all the lights, hazards, turn signals, etc. then moved on to the driving portion. I backed out of the parking space, drove 15 yards, made a present right turn, another 20 yards and a pretend left turn, the instructor walked back up to the car and told me to drive over to the cones for parallel parking. I parked, he gave me a slip of paper, and walked away. I drove a total of maybe 60 yards during the test.

The best advice i have is small: Know the car you take the test in. Many of the kids I've tested learned to drive in an old beater car but took the test in their parent's car. They didn't know where most switches were and didn't have an idea of how the car acts under acceleration. Just that confidence in knowing your ride makes a world of difference during the test.

yea, i didn’t know where the high beams were in my aunt’s car, but fortunately my state’s DL test doesn’t require that information
I thought the de-froster was with the windshield wiper controls, because that makes more sense to me than half the shit in that car
Like the 8000 sensors that basically encourage distracted driving, i mean if the car will yell at you that the car in front is no longer there, than what’s the point of paying attention?

Uh…my driving test was like 5 minutes long. It was me starting the car, pulling out of the DMV parking lot, taking a left on a small secluded road (the DMV I went to is kind of in the middle of nowhere), drive into a small nearby neighborhood, make a U turn (probably the “hardest” part of the test…), and drive back to the DMV to park. As long as your parking job wasn’t bad, you used your signals, and you followed the speed limit, you passed.

Driving test, Sweden 🇸🇪. Ca. 18 years ago.
First open the bonnet, asked to identify a few things and also check the oil level. Do the whole lights/indicator/windshield wiper thing.
Then we drove about city centrum for a bit, some parallell parking, traffic lights. Asks me to drive us to a specific location. This location tookbus out of the centrum, past suburbs, outskirts of the town and then onto the highway for a brief period, lane changes and then take us back to where we started. And then reverse into a parking spot done. Ca. 60min.

from my experience, you need to use turn signals, put your seatbelt on, drive at the speed limit, understand traffic light maneuvers (unprotected turns), be able to park, use parking brake, and do a 3 point turn.
honestly, the written test is 10x harder, and even then, it’s common sense.

Well that’s for your L plates during which you then have 1 year to accumulate 100 day hours of driving and 20 night hours. This 120 hours must be done with a fully licensed driver supervising you. After this time frame and your hours are at the correct amount you do a hazard perception test, which is on a computer on which you have to press a button every time you see a hazard. After the hazard perception test you then go for your driving test in which the instructor will get you to drive around your town and demonstrate your driving skills. Once you pass you then move onto your P1 (Red P plates) for one year then you move onto your P2 (Green P plates) for 2 years, while on your Ls, P1s and P2s you cannot exceed the speed of 90k/hr one you have completed this three stage process you can apply for and receive your blacks or full license, with which you can use Bluetooth in your car and travel over 90k/hr following the speed limit

A little late but I didn’t see this on too many people’s suggestions. Instead of looking at your surroundings with jsut your eyes, use your whole head. The examiner is often taking notes and will not notice subtle eye movements. So, if you need to look somewhere specific, like crossing another road, physically turn your head.

That sounds f*cking easy. In Germany, you have to complete 12 driving lessons, learning every possible situation and the rules of the road. Afterward, you need to pass a test with 30 questions. However, you can accumulate fail points with different questions, and if you reach 10 fail points, you'll fail the test. In some cases, just two incorrect answers can lead to failure. Once you pass the written test, you'll have to take a driving test with your instructor and an inspector from TÜV, driving around for about 1 hour and the inspector chose if you fail or not.
