(Update: After sending out that megatrailer our leap-day release date is suddenly less certain. So if not today(29) we will be trying again tomorrow. Hopefully we´ve now learned to not cry wolf like that again. To be positive you could argue that it makes sense that the release itself also goes in the same trial, error and failure - vein as the whole buildingprocess has done. So, in that sense, the symmetry is intact.
Best! / M)
Video Premiere February 29:th 2016
So after 14 months of building, the Marble Machine is finished.
A special day for us.
Swedish Filmmaker Hannes Knutsson from Lefvande Bilder has filmed and edited the music video that will Premiere Monday, February 29:th. Hannes has gone down as deep with the Machine as i have and i cannot enough express my gratitude over not only the results but also for all the fantastic days we spent together in a windowless industry building in Gothenburg finishing this. The building of the machine went on so long and was so difficult that i was very close of giving up but having Hannes onboard made me forget about the giving up option. Check out Hannes Super Mario Beads stop motion animations on his youtubechannel:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXnd4...
Another friend who has been deeply involved during the 14 month build is Marcus Dimbodius who can be seen in the video helping us put up the paper wall. Me and Marcus share studio and I filled the whole place with sawdust for a whole year. Marcus came up with crucial design suggestions and it is thanks to him that the cymbal is built into the box and that we don't have to ever see that cymbal solution that you can see in the video again. He is also responsible for the fact that the marbles run on a conveyer belt which adds greatly to the visual output of the Machine. Thank you! Marcus Dimbodius is an amazing artist and filmmaker from Gothenburg, check out his music:

All the best! / Martin

Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organizations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organizations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support, I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster.

Imagine finding this machine in pristine condition in an abandoned museum 1000 years from now
+NemRaps Nah... It's made of plywood. It won't live for too long. But enought to recored an album. They've built it probably only for one album.
+Aleksei Ulyanov
Ehm, are you smoking? Wood will last a long time, fucking hell
Yea. It Will be worth money in 100 years IF its good contistion
+YOURNAME GAMEPLAY 'contistion'..? WTF!
It's not a wood, but a plywood. And I didn't tell that it will only live long enough to record one album.
This is literally the only circumstance under which I can imagine thoroughly supporting someone sanding the finish off of a Hofner bass. This machine and the music it makes are simply glorious.
Andrew Rothman I still felt bad...
Dedication... brilliant work
+Draegast 14 months of filing sanding and cutting wood.
* shivers *
+Draegast you're everywhere ?
+Draegast It seems strange that you'd be here, but at the same time, not really strange at all.
+Draegast
And now we''ll be waiting to see this in besiege!
+Draegast Drae has omnipresence
The difference between this one and MMX is astounding.
I was just thinking the same - this was definitely from a simpler, more innocent time!
Coming here nearly five years later... I am just waiting for a similar video about the Marble Machine X
very fucking impressive. You built a piece of art
d1234 Defenately.
How did you ever conceive such a concept? I imagine the planning and designing gave you guys many sleepless nights... Running sequential gears and shafts to produce the necessary mechanical effects, at the right time, on only a crank handle is impressive enough but to have gears, belts, pulleys, etc synced to produce this really on a whole new level!
+JP Lizotte I really wonder what they think of this.
+JP Lizotte definitely Animusic. watch?v=hyCIpKAIFyo
+johan van der sandt looks like a music box. just a bit bigger.
+Moth very fascinating!
+JP Lizotte no, can't say that I have.
2:45 OMG it's Hannes 1
What a big évolution since 5 years, now Hannes 2000, still here!
Here we GO!
F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C.
Not just a music machine, it's a piece of art too.
Its amazing to see the evolution between the first MM and MMX, so much time and effort to create such an amazing machine
A true enginering wonder
revisiting this now that the MMX is nearing completion, it looks so crood yet so beautyful at the same time
You're a talented guy. You saw saw a vison and made it. Absolutly genius my friend. genius!
Genius. Anyone who dislikes videos related to this should be ashamed
they're probably misclicks.
Why did he make it?
The dedication for this is insane.
Simon Johansson How would you even know where to start?!?
you are a modern day Mozart man you're a f****** genius
This is one of the single most amazing things I've ever seen.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Calling this an amazing and fantastic creation isn't enough.
Fantastic Music!
You sir deserve to have this piece in a music museum. You truly are an inventor and a genius.
Incredible....
this guy is a genius
A musician engineer, this is so inspiring
This is one thing that makes me keep faith in music. People finding more creative ways to make music. So interesting!
The complexity of this machine is pretty amazing. I can't imagine the amount of math that went into getting all the timing right on top of coming up with the design of this contraption. Nothing short of amazing.
Patience level 9000
+Brooks Broox IT'S OVER 9000 !!
hhmmm to know that back then this was considered to be finished but to look forward to the future and see how much has changed OMG it is amazing
so so cool! love it!
+Make Something The melody on this thing is really catchy. Super Rad.
Amazing! I watched the video, then had to watch the construction playlist. This guy is a musical DaVinci.
That is some serious creativity and invention. Congrats from the States!! It is beautiful.
Challenging mechanism and project that was completed to the end. Very impressive and a huge personal gain for the people involved.
i hope im not the only one who want to have the same trailer of this once the MMX is done
Next step make it work with steam power
Yep
+Arho Mikkonen So much this... just add a governor that you can use to adjust the BPM, and you have a steampunk DAW.
+Arho Mikkonen Good idea. Then you could add steampowered whistles too.
steam power is overrated. Diesel power is the way to go.
+Derrick Still
Hamster wheel is the obvious solution!
That thing is so beautiful. It belongs in a museum. Nicely done.
I'm remarkably excited to see the finished fruits of your labours! Well done, you're an inspiration!
I'm watching the X build. Makes it easier for me to finish two-week projects when I see someone on such a quest.
That is incredibly cool. Thanks for making the world a more interesting and creative place.
Nunca te olvides. Que tú perfeccionismo. Tus ganas de dar todo para que no sirva " a tus estándares" me hace volver a pintar.
You are awesome !!!!
My son and I built an organ with bottles and bellows to play from a keyboard.
You are awesome.
A year later I keep coming back to your music.
why giving dislike for this work!!! as if they paid him money to make an instrument and were not satisfied!!!
Holy cripes, that's good! I cant even build a musical tin can, and you built this magnificent masterpiece!
ONLY 14 MONTHS?? GODDAMN THAT THING WOULD TAKE ME 14 YEARS TO MAKE
FatMissyCat hat Ikr!!
Man, that machine u built is COMPLETLY AMAZING
Take your time with the final video, I don't think any of us will be heart broken if it took another few days, we're all pretty used to it. We all just want it to be as amazing as it deserves to be.
+livefromhollywood194 and i'm speechless, for having seen the result!
And still speechless from all the work that's been done and the sound and everything. Truely amazing and beautiful.
The amount of planning it takes to make something like this is credible. I nod in respect.
Amazing. If there was ever created a Venn Diagram of Steampunk, CNC Milling, and Drum Machines; I would expect this marble-powered beast to be at its heart.
Without a doubt one of the most extraordinary pieces I have seen. Your devotion to your art is awe inspiring. You have created a masterpiece that is worthy of the world's love and appreciation. Absolutely incredible!
Sweden is home to the greatest creative, musical minds.
You and your team are the "Tonny Stark" of the music
Im dazzled right now :)
Can't wait to see a video like this for the Marble Machine X
Thank you so much for posting some of the behind the scenes stuff. I was absolutely blow away when i saw the debut release video. Very Inspiring. Congratulations!
This thing is amazing. Absolutely amazing. It fills my heart with glee to be able to see every mechanical part moving, the way it's all put together makes sense. That's a feeling most electronic objects don't give away.
The work put in to this is absolutely incredible. You have made an incredible Marble Machine!
Been watching since the very first day! So glad you finished this amazing project
Truly, a Jack of all trades and a master of all.
Wooow, the machine is way bigger and more complex than I had in mind from the last video. I’m very excited to see and hear the Musical Marble Machine in action. That project is insane, in a very positive way :)
Awesome piece of history! Anyone else having this suggested in 2021? 😜
please guys!
just share these video would help them a lot, im just confused how youtube can't find these geniuses
This is fantastic! I'm very jealous of your skills and talent. I'm absolutely floored by what you've achieved!
Amazing cleverly designed music machine! Brilliant concept and dedication
what kind of genius he is. amazing machine.
imagine this getting polished up and remodeled to become a retailed instrument sold everywhere being learned how to play to kids
They'd have to get either a replacement for the Legos or get a license from the company.
+Atomic Robo Tesla no they wouldn't :P
+Atomic Robo Tesla Easy to replace not to mention they wouldn't need to pay them anyway as lego is the supplier for the product in question.
+Gina Yu (Ginaartnerd) Imagine this comment where the machine is supposed to evolve just a few days after its 14 months build, and then heal the world and make it a better place
+Gina Yu (Ginaartnerd) It's a single song machine. Not a creative sandbox of music.
более сумасшедшей идеи я еще не видел! Я поражаюсь твоей настойчивости! Это прекрасно!
You build a piece of art. That's amazing!
This is incredible! A complete and true work of art!
It's done! At long last! I am soooo hyped for the video in 3 days! I was really starting to get worried that you guys stopped working on the project. But oh my god, it looks SO COOL! Great job guys! I can't wait to hear it's debut!
I started building the MMX today in Minecraft on the computer and I have installed some software resources like Redstone and it's running smoothly! It's been 23 months since we last upgraded the 21st unit
Finally, this is one project I have really been looking forward to. Great to see it finished, and great work! It looks marvelous!
Extraordinary human beings. I am so so so excited to finally hear what it sounds like. Lots of love to you all
Brilliant! I am amazed by your talent and abilities. Thank you for sharing another way with the world. I also enjoyed the rift. I have forwarded to many... Please keep up your works I would love to see more of anything you do.
Wonderful work! Thank you for sharing it :D
***** Musical understanding and mechanical understanding in one package makes for pretty amazing humans :D
Outstanding demonstration of your skills in so many area!!! BRAVO!! BRAVO!!
This can change the world
+CaptainKevin546 How? I understand that it's a cool invention, but it's not the most efficient way to make music.
WOW! i just cant wait for this! more than a year watching you making this monster machine, and now it finally came to live! congrats!
I'm amazed how can anyone give this a thumbs down.. Let's see you do better as for me. I'm not just amazed but impressed. .. 80)
Comming back to look at this 4 years later, I can't wait for the Marble Machine X to be finished :D
Fourth anniversary coming up! The MMX is almost complete!
You really is inspiring. Your determination seems to be limitless.
Huge congratulation for what you have undertaken.
I had to watch all the videos until this, in order to understand the secret
of the Höfner bass. I was convinced ever thou hadst built also that one!
I watched all manufacturing videos ! I admire your work ! BRA-VI-SSI-MO ! Fantastic !
