The "It is what it is" attitude is very important not just for sports but for life as well Dylan, thank you for showing people that, in life you won't always win but it's not about how much you fail rather about how much you get back after you fail, keep going man appreciate you 💪🤛
Thanks for the honesty and humility Dylan! I'm posting for Grimace!! She is adorable!! But you squat program helped me increase my squat and help me come back from injury. I can't wait to watch the next arc!!
Ayo Dylan, I felt this hard dude. I had my first meet 4/28 and I also bombed out of it in snatches with a weight I hit plenty of times in training. Shuff happens, don't take it to hard, snatches are always hit or miss on meet days for some reason. What matters is that we try again in the next meet. Always just try to do better for yourself and nobody else. Big ups dude.
Dude Im really sorry about this meet, however the way you stood up to the loss gave me a lot of fucking confidence about upcoming challenges in my own life. Thank you for that and keep going!
bromo sapien, I feel for you here but at the same time I'm so inspired by your outlook. Keep doing what you're doing! Like you said pre-meet, you are only doing this for yourself, to have fun, and because your life is better with weightlifting in it. Yet, the funny thing is, you're not really doing this for yourself (or at least by yourself) because I know I'm not the only one that is inspired by your journey and keeps striving towards the next biggest lift because of you! Kudos brosef Brolin and keep at it!
Looked like you needed your lift companion! Videos are getting better and better, love seeing this side of things and hearing your perspectives, especially with situations like this. Can’t wait to follow along your journey to the next one!
Absolutely love the realness of this video! I appreciate you posting a meet that you bombed out in. This reinforces the virtue to stay the course even tho we may fail from time to time. It was heartbreaking to see you bomb but I learned more from you in this video than I could if you won. Thank you for showing us the real side of weight lifting! PS I rly love your sense of humor bc it shows you don’t take yourself so seriously. And I signed up for the dog pack program and am stoked lol
That was a tough break, dude. But your determination in the face of things going wrong, is all the proof you need, to know that you’re on the right track. You just hit your initial peak a bit too soon - and didn’t have time to consolidate the weights, and wave back up to them for the comp. The numbers you hit in training, speak for themselves. You were on the right path. As you rightly said - all the various factors came together: and got in your head. Next time, you’ve got this experience to learn from, and you’re already internalising what you need to do differently.
It feels weird to say this but in a way I'm actually glad things turned out the way they did. Don't get me wrong, I was really pulling for you; I was actually so excited to see how you did that I cheated and looked up the results a few days before this video dropped, lol. But - as awesome as it would have been to see you crush the lifts, it was even more awesome to see how you handled things not turning out the way you'd hoped. Just my opinion, but it seems like there is so much stuff out there that's curated in a way that causes us to compare ourselves in unhealthy ways, and your channel, and in particular this video, is like a perfect antidote to that stuff. You are keeping it real in the most real sense of the phrase, and, at least for me, you are helping me be a better version of myself every week. Based on other comments I think that's probably true for a lot of other folks as well, and that's so much bigger than a single result on a single day. Keep crushing it my man 👑
Regardless of the outcome man we all still support you! keep grinding man. You and Zach have motivated me to start my weightlifting journey! #THEDOGFATHER
Damn wanted to shrivel up in a corner for you man but I respect your grind. You truly love the sport and this is definitely part of it. Best of luck next meet
Gutted for you fella... kudos to you sharing the meet and your thoughts/conclusions... Gain, consolidate, gain consolidate...etc over 20wks will work for you...
Great job even if things didn’t turn out well. Even though you failed at what you set out to accomplish you’re honesty and transparency is very inspiring as well as your overall attitude. Keep it up and looking forward to many more vids
Come on, keep going! Bad days happens, keep motivated for the next goal! I wish you all the best! I really like your content and the effort you put in this awesome sport! I'm a newbe and you really inspire me! Regard from Italy bro!
Thank you for your honesty Dylan, its inspiring. As my mother in law says, "growing in grace and character" i had a shitty day in the gym today, so this has really helped. Onwards and upwards!
I agree with you. Clearly, you had the overall strength and power. As others have already said, we really appreciate your mindset, it's a trait that can help anyone in life overcome adversity. It was great watching you train for this one. And it will be great watching you dial it in even more for the next one! LFG!
💯 authentic and unfiltered. I’m here for the journey I’d been on the fence about signing up to a weightlifting programme but your mindset and honesty in this video sealed it for me. Looking forward to my own journey and watching yours
Thank you for showing us this. Would you walk us through your method of selecting opening weights in a next video? Do you think weight selection might have had something to do with this outcome?
I'm in love with lil Grimace 😻!! Thank you for your honesty here. Big things ahead for the Dogfather. Also, ordered some Gorilla Mind with your code and it's fn delicious.
It's important people see this side of lifting. You're going to fail lifts, it's going to happen and it's good to be able to take a step back and be honest about what you can do better.
I'm feeling this anxiety fueled panic attack with you woah getting the sweaty shivers even when listening to the recap. but everything is about to change and you know why? because you got a cat. everything gets better once you get a cat. the dogfather anime revenge story arc has been initiated. 😼 it's one thing to avoid failure but it's a whole other and maybe even bigger thing to deal with failure, mad respect for that!
You are very strong... but you were very excited, I think, but there was really no reason to be.. Because you are someone who knows what you can do. But if you're not failing, then you didn't try! Love your content!
I've never had a competition experience before. It's quite a perspective to think that every lift I'm proud of in training won't translate necessarily in an official competition environment. Would you say aside from keeping up with your training, it's also important to keep your participation in competition active as well.
Solid video. Good luck for your next comp, I will be watching! Do you think training without straps to get accustomed to the weights before comp is a good idea?
As rock and ice climber and a professional guide and instructor in the past, you’ll time spent coaching others while evaluating amd making corrections In your own practice is certainly going to open progress for you going forward and allow to improve at a faster rate. Improvement is already in numbers through your last training cycle. Now they will just solidify without fail.
Execution is a biattch . . . you said it best: "you don't really know what's going to go your way". Any weightlifter who's been doing the sport competitively through at least a few years -- be it at your level or just at the local/regional levels of the sport -- can relate. Great that you didn't shy away from putting up on youtube and the 'gram that reality. You had those missed platform lifts physically. . . just not mentally on that specific day. Look forward to seeing the redemption-plus.
Obviously would have loved to see you crush, but will make seeing you do it next meet all the better. Saw the results kinda spoiled in the comments on the last video, still felt it with you though.
Man I felt you at 14:28. You took this on the chin and a lot of people including myself can learn from your mindset. Thanks Dylan 💪🏽
You a dog big fella
The amount of pure rage from bombing out at a meet is such a motivator
Your mindset has really helped me with my progression bro and my first meet. Much love bro 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The "It is what it is" attitude is very important not just for sports but for life as well Dylan, thank you for showing people that, in life you won't always win but it's not about how much you fail rather about how much you get back after you fail, keep going man appreciate you 💪🤛
Thanks for sharing the more introspective side of the sport with us. Love getting the perspective. Excited for the #RedemptionArc
Thanks for the honesty and humility Dylan! I'm posting for Grimace!! She is adorable!! But you squat program helped me increase my squat and help me come back from injury. I can't wait to watch the next arc!!
some strength of character displayed in this video
Thank you John!
13:19 the Tissot looking fresh, man. Good luck on your next meet!

Thanks for posting this vid. More to take away than watching powerful people lift heavy in the gym. Appreciate it.
Dude Im really sorry about this meet, however the way you stood up to the loss gave me a lot of fucking confidence about upcoming challenges in my own life. Thank you for that and keep going!

I'll be along for the journey to the next meet, you are still a badass and strong A.F. dude! Keep killing it!
Strong attitude Sir, makes up for the Bombing. Looking forward to the come back!
Mate! This was the kick to get me to join the dog pack. Love the drive and dedication! Bring on the next 4 months
Gutted for you fella... kudos to you sharing the meet and your thoughts/conclusions...
Gain, consolidate, gain consolidate...etc over 20wks will work for you...
Way to hang in there and still power through the meet. Thanks for demonstrating a warrior's mindset; looking forward to your next cycle.
Thank you so much for sharing not only the highs but also the challenges… and keep lifting because you want to! Looking forward to the journey…
Great job even if things didn’t turn out well. Even though you failed at what you set out to accomplish you’re honesty and transparency is very inspiring as well as your overall attitude. Keep it up and looking forward to many more vids

Thank you for your honesty Dylan, its inspiring. As my mother in law says, "growing in grace and character" i had a shitty day in the gym today, so this has really helped. Onwards and upwards!
You are a bad ass coach and an outstanding athlete! Such an inspiration regardless! ⭐️
Appreciate your transparency and bringing us along for the ride man! Get after it
Thank you for sharing your journey with us - heads up. we all looking forward for more awesome videos with you!
I agree with you. Clearly, you had the overall strength and power. As others have already said, we really appreciate your mindset, it's a trait that can help anyone in life overcome adversity.
It was great watching you train for this one. And it will be great watching you dial it in even more for the next one! LFG!
Thanks for sharing ! The mental game is the hardest to train
💯 authentic and unfiltered.
I’m here for the journey
I’d been on the fence about signing up to a weightlifting programme but your mindset and honesty in this video sealed it for me.
Looking forward to my own journey and watching yours
Great video, great review of your history, great outlook and adjustment going forward!
Keep your head up Dylan, you have the strength and the fight, you'll be back!
Thank you for showing us this. Would you walk us through your method of selecting opening weights in a next video? Do you think weight selection might have had something to do with this outcome?
Next meet will be great, keep going Dylan!!
I'm in love with lil Grimace 😻!! Thank you for your honesty here. Big things ahead for the Dogfather. Also, ordered some Gorilla Mind with your code and it's fn delicious.
Im excited to see the next few videos of you grinding technique
Full respect for the effort and the mentality here.
It's important people see this side of lifting. You're going to fail lifts, it's going to happen and it's good to be able to take a step back and be honest about what you can do better.
I really like the concept of a 16 week training block vs 12 and excited to get after it!
Much love bro! Youll get em on the next one!
What Dozer was missing here was ZT in the background of each lift hyping it up.

The comeback dub is about to be bitchn.. let’s go

i really feel like it's easy to lose sight of the fun in lifting when we get focused on technique and the next PR.
Respect ✊🏽
you got this dylan, after one meet is before the next. redemption arc let‘s go!
I lift alone. So it's nice to see other lifters get after it.
