@ageofempires should hire him right away and support him to finish all the scenes of the introduction! This is something wonderful and truly worthy to be part of the current definitive edition, instead of making introductions that represent little or nothing of the immersion of the original game or even wors (make it crash).
This is awesome, so nostalgic!! I wish they had kept this intro in the game and just updated it! Just a few observatiosn which I think would make it even better: 1. I could be wrong, but I always though the guy who drops the king piece in the end is the same green king (Graphics weren't great, but they looked like the same model to me), as he has "captured" the piece and defeated the red king. 2. I can imagine it must be really rough to make the whole battle sequence, but feels a bit like an abrupt cut from the trebs to the aftermath, specially since the soundtrack was so awesome in this part. 3. I miss the monks carrying the relic next to the treb. Again, it looks awesome and I can't even animate a power point slide, but just thought would be nice to point those details out.

The thing that grinds my gears is that one person can produce this beautiful remake as a passion project on the side, yet Microsoft hasn't done this themselves for DE (or even one for AoE4 for heaven's sake). Mahmoud, if you end up finishing the full cinematic, we can make a mod in DE that replaces the current intro. Heck, Microsoft might even adopt it as the official remake too. Happy to reach out internally to put this on their radar.

This was an educational project for myself to learn unreal engine I know it needs ton of refinement and rework but I invested 6 months working on it so for making the full cinematic its very challenging, but but speaking about pushing it to be official that’s something lets talk about it.

When I downloaded AOE 2 DE from steam, I was very excited, I thought I would get an opening with improved quality. This is what the opening of AOE 2 DE should be like. But I was disappointed not to get that when I first opened the game. I rap the development team changed it
It looks great but, the guy smirking in the chair should be the one dropping the chess piece in the end seeing his empire crumble in the end. It´s the same for the old intro.
Please finish it if possible, with all the scenes! Also remember the knight at the end is supposed to be the green tunic king playing chess! This is incredible work!
I've been playing this game since I was a child and I must definitely admit that the atmosphere of this game has largely shaped me. Age of Kings and The Concuerors, in my opinion, had a great, unique atmosphere thanks to the music and graphics. Even though the graphics weren't perfect, there was some sense and some depth to it all. Also in details. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case in the new version of Definitive. They made it into refined graphics that are "perfect" and soulless. Maybe it's stupid, but I'm really sad about it. Sometimes, however, you come across a gem like the video above. All in all, this is one of the best things in the Age of Empires atmosphere that someone has created after such a long time since the game was created. It's almost perfect. If You read this, the Creator of this film, know that I am grateful. Huge respect for You. Very Very thank You! Age of Empires!

After seeing the 4K remastered AI version of AOE2, I never imagined this gem would come out! Now it gives me the opportunity to imagine what it would be like in the future, to see it with immersive lenses and be present during the chess game and on the battlefield!

on your point 2: the original long intro was cut shorter when aoe2 was ported to steam i believe

Normally I detest this kind of stuff, but I have to admit, the ending gave me chills. I think this would fit in with definitive edition very well.
