This was an educational project for myself to learn unreal engine I know it needs ton of refinement and rework but I invested 6 months working on it so for making the full cinematic its very challenging, but but speaking about pushing it to be official that’s something lets talk about it.
This is awesome, so nostalgic!! I wish they had kept this intro in the game and just updated it! Just a few observatiosn which I think would make it even better: 1. I could be wrong, but I always though the guy who drops the king piece in the end is the same green king (Graphics weren't great, but they looked like the same model to me), as he has "captured" the piece and defeated the red king. 2. I can imagine it must be really rough to make the whole battle sequence, but feels a bit like an abrupt cut from the trebs to the aftermath, specially since the soundtrack was so awesome in this part. 3. I miss the monks carrying the relic next to the treb. Again, it looks awesome and I can't even animate a power point slide, but just thought would be nice to point those details out.

Epic modernization of the original cinematic! I was a big fan of the original game when it first came out, and have been playing it up to the present day (strictly single player, as I'm not a PvP type).
I've been playing this game since I was a child and I must definitely admit that the atmosphere of this game has largely shaped me. Age of Kings and The Concuerors, in my opinion, had a great, unique atmosphere thanks to the music and graphics. Even though the graphics weren't perfect, there was some sense and some depth to it all. Also in details. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case in the new version of Definitive. They made it into refined graphics that are "perfect" and soulless. Maybe it's stupid, but I'm really sad about it. Sometimes, however, you come across a gem like the video above. All in all, this is one of the best things in the Age of Empires atmosphere that someone has created after such a long time since the game was created. It's almost perfect. If You read this, the Creator of this film, know that I am grateful. Huge respect for You. Very Very thank You! Age of Empires!

I would've been awesome if this intro actually made it into Age of Empires II Remastered! This is an iconic intro cutscene for a reason, as it artistically uses chess to symbolize war during medieval times.

on your point 2: the original long intro was cut shorter when aoe2 was ported to steam i believe

In the classical intro, the guy dropping the chess piece is indeed the younger king, although he was hard to recognize under his armor.
