Very nice of HP to post these service videos. This will save you time and money and it discourages exagerated consumerism and throwing items away. Very well done!

I just followed the instructions from 6:27 to 7:22 . Then I popped off the LCD front plate and the whole screen/pcb came out. Then I opened the ribbon cable latch and now I have the whole assembly removed from the printer. Why don't they tell you to do it this way!? It only took about 3 minutes to figure it out.
Can you make it anymore difficult to remove and replace a simple screen. Too labor intensive. HP used to be simple design. This is why Lexmark is surpassing HP.
boy, no kidding. Seems like a basic plug at the base of the screen mount and you'd have almost no disassembly required. Instead the entire printer comes apart to replace something on the *outside* of the printer...
Hi, The touchscreen on my MFP M283fdw broke. It’s very nice to find this video, but now I am looking for a replacement screen to order… and I cannot find it ! Can you give a pointer to where I can order a replacement touchscreen ?

A word of caution; after researching this myself I've found my M477 ribbon cable for the touch control panel has only 28 pins, while this one at 5:55 and other sellers will have a 30 pin cable and control panel. My printer board does not have the right two pins soldered, so they used a smaller 28 pin connector & cable. Measure your ribbon cable, if it's exactly 9/16 inches wide, then it's a 28 pin. If it's slightly wider then it's a 30 pin. You will need the correct part for your pins, which seems like 30 pins is more common.
What are the part numbers for the plastic housing, ribbon cable and the grounding wire? Or does it only come in one kit with the screen? The plastic housing on my m479fdw was over extended and it broke the house, ribbon cable and grounding wire.

@@HPSupport *translated from above* Hello! Good video! I need to change the touch screen on a Laserjet MFP M 521dn, Do you have a video that demonstrates that? Thank you!
LOL that is way to much work. It would be much easier if you could disconnect cable for the display. Insane stupid. It is like working on a Nissan front wheel drive with a 3.5 L. No matter what your working on you have to pull the engine lol. To make this job more simple set it up so when you pull a pin the printer falls into pieces. No point in trying to make things so complicated a customer won't mess with it doesn't work. They see the cost and try to fix it themselves with no idea, see this video that will give them confidence they can do it. My advice is this. Don't buy these printers, lease them. If you buy one get rid of it once warranty expires or trash it once it breaks down. Toner cartridges are expensive so when warranty is about to expire might be best not to buy any because they probably won't work in the new printer.
