We know you folks are not religious but we pray a hedge of protection around you during your travels... crime is all around us and we must not let it stop us from seeing Gods incredible world. Love your journeys!
We appreciate your prayers and that's what I'm talking about Wayne! Fear is crippling and we refuse to let it stop us from seeing the world. If something happens, know that we were doing something we love! Safe travels my friend!

I live just outside Memphis in Germantown. We’ve lived in Houston, Ft Worth, Miami, Birmingham, San Antonio, Austin, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Buffalo, and more. We’ve been here for 6 years; not our favorite place, but the history here is just amazing. If we were to have listened to people who told us, don’t go there, we would have missed out on hundreds of amazing sites. As with any large city, in the US or abroad, you need to be aware. There is a lot to see in Memphis; next time you’re back in the area, stop by Gus’ Fried Chicken and/or Central Barbecue...you won’t be sorry! Continued safe travels; really enjoy your videos. ;-).
I have to say that I have always been more attracted to Memphis than Nashville because of the genres of music. I am not a country fan but I love rock n roll and the Blues. All of the places you went in this video would be on my bucket list (even the vegan BBQ place).
Man oh man that train was loud. I seems that the fog kept the noise close in. So why is Memphis supposed to be so bad. I live a sheltered life, can you tell? Great video. So much music history, it is amazing. Thanks so much for taking me along. I really appreciate the trip we have been on. WOW. Stay safe and happy trails. Love ya Joyce
The Bass Pro used to be a sports arena and we would fly a 13" R/C Blimp for the Memphis Tigers basketball team before they built the Forum. Always a great time and the place was huge.
Before it was a Bass Pro it was an event center and they hosted the Titanic exhibit with actual items from the Titanic. It was great. Looks like you guys are having a great time in Memphis!
Memphis: depends on neighborhood. I delivered furniture on the bad side of town regularly for a while as a truck driver and never had any trouble. Beale street is great. I have never been to the pyramid. I like the casinos about 20 minutes away in Mississippi. Sun studios is great. The drums in the studio were left there by U2.
Sounds like you got to listen to some great music and some pretty loud trains. Sun studios was awesome, can't wait to see that myself. Crosstown Concourse was pretty cool. It is amazing how an old run down Sears building can be renovated into a functional building. There is an old brewery in San Antonio that they renovated into a retail area with stores and restaurants. When you come back through San Antonio you will have to check it out. Safe Travels
Hey Randy, if you're talking about the Pearl Brewery and Hotel Emma, we were there when we were in San Antonio...it was awesome! Hotel Emma, is still one of our favorite places we've been! Safe travels!
I laughed at your closing because I was just reading on a RV forum this afternoon where people were telling newbies to avoid anyplace near Railroads. You gut seem to find them regularly. Great video!
There seems to be a lot of RV parks near railroads! Probably because the land is cheaper. Chris, here are a couple to get you started....www.irv2.com/forums/ & www.rvforum.net/
Vegan BBQ in Memphis?? WTH!! lol Every major tourist area in Memphis has a police station in or near it.. I delivered LTL freight In Memphis for many years including that sears building lol. If you think safe and stay in those safe areas, Memphis is fine. Lorrane motel would probably be the worse(sketchy) area you landed in. Sun Studio is a must for music lovers... Beale street has nothing but good times and music, from the bars to the streets, plus the Gibson Guitar factory(sketchy again) is just a few blocks away! The last time I was in that Pyramid, I seen lynyrd skynyrd in concert there...I seen a few groups there in its early years.. Kiss was probably the most extravagant one. times be a changing.. thanks for taking me back to those streets.. lol Safe travels.
Yep, Vegan BBQ...who woulda thought! Lol! I agree with the rest of your statement Michael. Certain areas in daytime and others at night. Be aware of your surrounding and hope for the best! We enjoyed Memphis...thanks for sharing! Safe travels!
thank you for the tour of sun studios I would never have got to see any of this with out you two fine people doing all this fine work people like me would not see any of this thank you ounce again ehhh
Btw...I lived 2 blocks away from the Sears building. Local dive bar just a block away from me, had my first pickled egg, and picked pig feet. Also was where hookers hanged out....don't judge me.....moved there from Nebraska and was a naive 18 year old white boy.
Been to Memphis many times. Checkout the Memphis Music & Heritage Festival every Labor Day weekend. Also free parking at the Arkansas Welcome Center on I-40.(It is also loud)
Love it. I stop there every trip north. If you wanted to see scetchy you should have walked from Bass Pro to Beal street the google map route...I learned to take a different route and not much scares me lol
I was planning to go visit family in MO on the way to AZ next year, but the route from New Orleans to MO takes me right through Memphis. I thought that would be cool so I could go to Graceland, but after your video, I have second thoughts as I will be a female traveling alone. Your videos are really helpful in planning future trips.
The Graceland RV Park is attached to Graceland. It will be fine Joan. Just don't go out looking trouble in the middle of the night and you'll be fine! Safe travels!
Thanks as enjoyed the video. When I moved back home to the Houston area I decided one day to take an adventure trip. Well through one area I got a police escort until I reached a safe area. Personally it didn't bother me as have been through many strange areas of Houston. When I was younger they were all my short cuts. So I know what you are talking about. Hope you got some sleep. Take care and HUGS.
Thanks for sharing Leann! Who knows what a "safe area" is anymore. We all need to be kinder to one another and not be so selfish...if we can do that, we may create a safer world for the future. Safe travels!
I enjoy your videos. I heard on a video recently where you said Loring was doing payroll. Can you tell us how you fund your travels? Or point me to a video that tells about it. Thanks!
We talk about it in several videos Aaron...nothing too exciting, we have an auto detailing company in Las Vegas. We have an amazing crew working for us!
It was ok to leave the MH and go explore? Do you worry about the MH when you leave it like that? Thanks for the tour of Memphis, think I'm adding it to my bucket list lol
We wouldn't leave the motorhome just anywhere. Usually we like it to be in a campground, but we felt the parking lot at the Bass Pro Shops was good because they had security patrolling and a Memphis PD camera set up there. We stuck to the main areas while walking at night and stay aware of our surroundings as much as possible. Safe travels Stewart!
Not trying to be defensive but As a Memphian but I don't think it's quite as bad as folks make it out to be! Yeah we have a bad element in the city but I think the good of alot of the people gets overlooked! Every big city haze it's issues! Hope that makes sense!
I live in Memphis, and it's definitely dangerous. All those police cars were there for a reason. People have gotten shot on Beale Street, street fights break out there that are most likely gang-related. I think we have about a murder per day here (sometimes several), and a couple of people were recently shot driving in their cars on the interstate. That doesn't even include the general violent crime/aggravated assaults.
I understand Marla, but that stuff happens everywhere and as we have said over and over, "safe" is a delusion nowadays. Some places are definitely worse than others and for whatever reason, Memphis is one of those places. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the underlying violent mentality in this country will stop. That is probably a delusion as well, but something has to change. We treat everyone we meet with respect and compassion, hoping that eventually it spreads and people learn to love and respect one another. It's sad that young people feel their only choice is gang life and a life of crime. I spend countless wasted hours trying to figure out how to change that, but it has been that way since humans have walked the earth. Be safe out there folks! Love one another and safe travels!
Not to safe for a biker traveling through the city by himself... Every red light could be his last one that he gets to keep his bike... Sad to say... NY and a few other big cities just as bad... That's why rambling lone bikers stick to the smaller cities unless they hook up with a group of other bikers... Just saying.. But back in the 60and 70's it wasn't as bad as it is today. Punks have gotten very bold they think their bullet prof they'll walk right up to you at a stoplight during the day point a gun at you and say get off, and shot you if you don't.... I think I'm going to getting me a legal scatter gun for when I get back on the road. So I can shoot my super fresh every night... LOL,LOL... Just kidding my wife ain't going to let me have one of them... LOL... Great video thanks for sharing it.... Be blessed... BBE..
I love Memphis. I’m glad you gave it a try. So many people miss out on the richness of culture, history, music and food.
Agreed Diana!

Great attitude Lana! And you are correct! Safe travels!
Awesome! A great combination...music and vegan barbeque food! Can't go wrong! 😊
And then we wound up not ordering the BBQ!? What the heck? Lol!

after watching the video going to stay more than one day
Looking forward to spending the whole month of May there to enjoy "Memphis in May".
Is that a Music Festival?
The Motorhome Experiment Every week throughout the month of May is different. One week is music, another is Food, etc.
Before it was a Bass Pro it was an event center and they hosted the Titanic exhibit with actual items from the Titanic. It was great. Looks like you guys are having a great time in Memphis!

Thanks Madeline!

Knowing where the hookers hung out and knowing them personally, are a totally different thing Robin! Lol!
Been to Memphis many times. Checkout the Memphis Music & Heritage Festival every Labor Day weekend. Also free parking at the Arkansas Welcome Center on I-40.(It is also loud)
Thanks for sharing Gary Overton!
Kathy and I saw the King Tut exibihit in the Pyramid when it was touring the U.S.! So sad to see it turned into a store!
I think that's why I thought it used to be a science center!?
Fantastic vid
Thanks!
Love it. I stop there every trip north. If you wanted to see scetchy you should have walked from Bass Pro to Beal street the google map route...I learned to take a different route and not much scares me lol
Like anywhere right...make one wrong turn and it's a totally different experience! Lol!

Thanks for sharing ,was it really a dangerous place ? What the heck listen to the noise of that train lol goodnight peeps
Statistically, Memphis is a dangerous place, but what is "safe" really these days? Luckily we were so beat the train didn't bother us! Lol!
I enjoy your videos so much. I like to travel and not able to do it much anymore, I feel I am on your travels with you.
Glad you can travel with us!
Gotta give it to ya both! You are brave and able to sleep anywhere. I could never sleep with that noise! Safe travels see you both in the next video.
I would say, you get used to it, but I think we just don't go to sleep until we are so tired it doesn't matter! Lol!
I enjoy your videos. I heard on a video recently where you said Loring was doing payroll. Can you tell us how you fund your travels? Or point me to a video that tells about it. Thanks!

Hey, y'all are in a van down by the river! Bonjour mes ami. Jentre dans la salle de class. J'atour de mois, je oeuvre la fenetre, je fermez la port.
Practicing your French Taka....something about close the door...now I have to get out Google translate! Lol!
How much sleep did you get with that train? Very cool video as usual.
We had a pretty full day Cecilia, so we slept like babies! Lol! Thanks for watching!
It was ok to leave the MH and go explore? Do you worry about the MH when you leave it like that? Thanks for the tour of Memphis, think I'm adding it to my bucket list lol

Was that toyota motorhome parked by yall towing that van ? I have one and no way would I try that lol. The brakes would not stop it.
I think it was, but not sure. Definitely on the edge of safe! Lol!

Just a quick note! If you do get a chance to come back at some point hopefully the trolly line will be done and repaired. That is a great experience!
You put a rose on Memphis.
Lol! We liked it!
You missed the Gibson guitar factory.
How many things are on your bucket list? Haha
