    So, HSD's F16 105mm sold for $1000 back in 2020!!! It's like a 25% increase over 4 years.

      I think the first original birds were around 8-900 bucks. Then they upgraded the motor, speed controller, landing gear and the price was around $1200. Thats what I paid for the last one I purchased about 4 years ago.

    Nice! I bought this Jet after seeing Fred Original video but I got the "larger" ESC the 150 I flew it three times wasn't impressed with power or electronics put it in hanger and forgot about it might have to dig it out and see about upgrading Fan and flight controller because the bones of this Jet is Beautiful gonna give it some attention in the coming weeks! Good job Fred!

      You're very welcome Ron, Like you I shelved mine for almost two years. I was told about the new EDF by a friend of mine, contacted HSD Jets and wound up not only making this video but having a blast with the new power. I am going to run a speed test next week end to see what she has.
      I can tell you she's a lot faster than before. So much so I came home and balanced my elevators to make sure I wouldn't get any flutter. The EDF motor combo is $185. Best upgrade I have made to date. Now it takes off like a fighter instead of a Fed-X cargo plane.

    Nice to be able to see a visual beach test of the numbers. That's a big improvement over the stock. Wonder how it compares to the JetFan 110mm ?
    Thanks for the video.

      I was thinking the same thing myself. I flew the F16 for 4 minutes and had 3.72 left in the packs. With the performance upgrade I got from the new fan without any mods, I think I would have gone the 105 route unless the 110 is just a super killer setup.
      You know what. Theres a guy on RC groups that responded to the vid today and he had a 110. I will see what I can find out from him and get back to ya.

      So I found your answer. The 110 jetfan is an inrunner, weighs a ton, requires an ESC change, but is just as efficient as the new HSD S-edf.
      RC Jetwerx has been selling the 110 jetfan but they are going to discontinue it. The hsd fan is such a smarter buy. It's less than half the price, lighter and can use the stock ESC.

    Watts and amp figures are fine but what about some byproduct, meaning “thrust” figure?

    Can you help me with getting my afterburner working. There is no afterburner plug in the signal spot but the after burner is plugged into L 1. Thank you

    • @Condor060

      If you're asking about the AB lights, we plugged them into the receiver and programmed that slot on the transmitter as throttle signal like you would for an electric motor. Then we programmed that throttle output to start its output at 75% throttle on the stick. Meaning, the receiver ignores all throttle output until you hit 75% on the throttle stick then climbs to 100% when you hit 100% on the stick. That way the lights don't start to engage until you hit 75% throttle and go to full capacity at 100%

    Just wondering if it is any better than the all-metal JP Hobby fan 105mm?

    Just curious why the hsdjetusa site and several others are stating 4258/700KV motors for the Super Viper?

    Hi Fred I just got my new EDF motor and went to install it and doesn't fit because the bullets don't fit the ESC!

    • @Condor060
      @Condor060  4 года назад

      First off, what ESC do you have? You can take the bullets off the original fan and use them on the new fan. Thats what I did.

      Thanks and my esc is the 150 amp

      @@andrewmccleod7785 And they wouldn't fit? Mine was a 120 ESC so when I swapped out ESC's I had to use the connectors from the 120.
      Go figure.

    So to be clear Fred I have the FunFly HV160A that came with my HSD F16 so all I need to do is order the New 105mm EDF install it and I am good to go.

    • @Condor060
      @Condor060  4 года назад +1

      Thats correct. The new EDF pulls 123 amps so you are good to go. The FunFly 160 is what I am flying on myself.
