Ive only just discovered your videos. Hello! Sharing your vintage knits with us is a fantastic idea. Such wonderful pieces. I’m knitting socks while I listen to you two lovely men sharing your creativity and kind souls. Thank you so much. Marina in England. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Just discovered your videos, and love all of them. My sister and I are compulsive knitters, and wish we could send you pictures of the stuff we knit and crochet. I'm definitely going to knit one of your patterns. We love the way you present your work, so casual and interesting. All the best, and we are waiting for more. Greetings from Mussoorie, India.
I love the Maihaugenkofte you have here so much. Beautiful colour choices. I want to ask my knitting friend if she can make one for me with those colours and the ribbed collar!
I quite enjoy getting the small peek at the floats of the sweaters. So neat and even. My only experience knitting floats were on tiny Christmas tree stocking ornaments.
Carlos - A pattern to use while piecing together the pieces of old sweaters that are still wearable would be wonderful. A video series on how you would do that would be a nice addition as well. You & Arne are so inspiring!
I adore the cut and sew jacket! I find some wonderful, but well worn, pieces at the 2nd hand stores and what a wonderful way to repurpose them! You two are always so inspirational! YES, the double knit scarf needs to be written! I was not aware of all the work you did for Japanese clothiers! Love them ALL! 🙋🏻♀️ from the US
Carlos, I would love to know how to piece together several sweaters to make one. A pattern and tutorial would be so helpful, even if you attach one or two pieces in the tutorial. I have some old sweaters that need repairs and I love them all, so just to take them apart and combine them to make one OMG would really be awesome. I think when you mentioned the pattern everyone wanted pattern to knit, but I totally understood what you were talking about getting a patter to puzzle it together. Please do a tutorial. How to cut, tear apart, I have no clue how to even start and I am sure that all of your viewers would agree with me to get a tutorial out. Thanks a million. I love you guys. I tell my husband he is just like Arne and I am more like you. What's that saying "opposites attract". We have been together 40 years, so I totally agree that it is so true opposites attract. I love you guys. Carlos, I think you said you were from Brazil if I am not mistaken, I would love to hear about your culture, fashion and old wives tales. I am Hispanic and OMG, some of the wives tales we grew up with were amazing and worked. I love hearing about Arne, I love that he kept all of these sweaters since 1900's, I don't think I have anything passed down from my ancestors. It is amazing. Love Love seeing you guys. Thanks Linda V.
Greetings from Canada! Thank you for another great video and for sharing more of your sweater collection. I look forward to Sundays because of you two. Always enjoyable!
Hi from Newfoundland! I loved seeing Arne’s grandmother’s barn jacket. Very heartwarming to see that it has been kept and cherished! Thanks Arne and Carlos for another fun video!
I LOVE Arne's grandmother's 'barn' sweater. I could not find the pattern on the web, so I decided to make my own design after studying the original sweater. I have a finished sleeve and 6"/ 15cm of the body so far.
Love the little pops of color in the grandma barn sweater. Like flowers in fields on spring time. Really enjoy watching you guys knit. It's keeping me inspired to keep going while I learn to knit :)
I love, love, love this channel and you guys! Beautiful sweaters. I’m just getting back in to knitting and find you stories and instruction very interesting!
The last "ugly" sweater has a beautiful pattern that would look fabulous in Alice Starmore's yarns and colour ways . I totally agree re the green - wrong shade and too much. Lovely collection and I can't wait to see more!
I think the green is fun. In winter everything is SO drab - a shot of hideous unrelated color can be a nice pick me up. Color reads so differently by season or location. I bought LIME green linen slacks in California that looked like they were wired in when I wore them here in Missouri. Out there the sun is so bright I thought they were okay. NOT.
Hello again Arne and Carlos so lovely to see you both again. I adore your Grandmother’s cardigan Arne she was obviously so talented and creative just like you and Carlos. I also loved the ‘ugly sweater ‘ but agree that the green really spoils the finished piece - what a shame. Carlos I remember you wearing something similar to the cardigan you displayed tonight when you were both in your lovely garden but can’t be sure. Another great video Guys you are my most favourite Sunday evening guests - the kettle is always on when you two call in😃😃 Have a wonderful week ahead, sending you both lots of love as always from the U.K. Dorothy xxxxxx🙋🏻😘❤️
I look forward to each video you post and I especially loved this one! It is such a pleasure to listen to you both as I knit and crochet here at home! Sending a huge hug from upstate New York xoxo
Beautiful sweaters and kofter, but I love the barn kofte! It's so pretty. A little side note. I know a lot of people call stranded knitting for fair isle knitting, but as you know it's two different things as fair isle is a type of patterning and stranded knitting is when you knit with two or more colours. Maybe a tip for an episode - the difference between fair isle and stranded knitting ;)
Great idea.. I don't have an overlock but, do have a zig zag and can save some old sweaters by re making them. You guys are a hoot. Watching you just calms me. Thanks for showing some of your collection. What fun!
Hi guys. I looked for the flower design in the other episodes and found one that Arne was wearing ( blue and white) the blog was posted on the 17 th January 2017. A beautiful sweater. My favourite from this programme is the ‘Icelandic cat Sweater’ with the beautiful colour combination :browns, black, beige ........Regards. Ally
Ohh jag har det där mönstret här hemma 😍 Maihaugen. I är av min svärmor. Mönstret är i en annan färgställning, grå /beige och röd och utan knäppning. Väldigt roligt att se er tröja 💞
I agree the feminine shape on the last one is beautiful but it should have other colors My favorite is the farm jacket great pattern. All of the sweaters are beautiful anyhow
Love looking at all the patterns and color. I must say I now need an idea book to keep track of everything I want to make utilizing them. Arne great hair today ! 😊
I just found your website and your You Tube recordings yesterday. I can't stop reading and listening. Thank you for your wealth of inspiration and information. As a German now living in the USA I am always looking for European influenced knitting. Just a side comment... Maybe the "Strick Trend" sweater is German. Stricken is the German word for knitting.
Hello! I have to say that these are probably my favorite videos from you guys. Every time I see one of Arne's grandmother's sweaters, I have the urge to knit the same sweater for myself. So inspiring!! Thank you for posting.
It's so interesting to see your wonderful sweater collection. I really liked seeing Arne's Grandmother's sweater. Knowing it was worn and by who makes it very special and I'm sure brings back some sweet memories for Arne. It was also nice to hear about each piece and where it was from and designed by. Thanks so much! Sharon :) xx
Greetings from Alameda, California, where we just had some crazy hail, but never have snow! I love your videos, Arne and Carlos! The production quality is excellent, and you two are very charming. I just went looking for the cardigan/jacket inspired by the one in this video--and I finally found one. I almost don't want to say it, because I want other people to find it too. So I will just say that you two are making something in the garden, and Carlos is wearing that jacket, and Arne is wearing a blue, red, and white cardigan. Carlos' jacket is very much like the one you showed in this video, but the big motifs are replaced with something cuter. Now, it's time for me to sit down with a cup of coffee and work on my own cardigan, while watching some more of your videos. :)
Your videos always give me a smile and brighten my day I just love both of your humor And I thought I didn’t like these style sweaters however u have changed that I just adore your patterns and ideas
I so look forward to your videos. I enjoyed this one very much. I too found the cardigan in your guided tour video. I liked the big motif from the original a little more, however they are both wonderful. Thank you for these videos, you keep me inspired while I learn.
Thanks so much for sharing your sweaters - love Grandma's barn sweater and the gray and white one. Could you talk about balancing colors in Fair Isle design?
I noticed the black/white asymetrical pattern sweater - actually the scarf the first time Arne wore it sitting in a yarn shop talking I think. I looked high and low for the pattern. I don't completely agree with you Carlos, that it's pointless to knit that sweater - or at least the variety of patterns in your own arrangement. I think you could provide the patterns for handknitters who are creative enough to surprise you with their color combinations and arrangements of the designs. Knitting blocks would be a good introduction to Fair Isle knitting for those who LOVE that, I often steek and cut pieces as a swatch - to get correct gauge for knitting in the round . They aren't coordinated tho, so I don't have a sweaters worth. So maybe a series of patterns as a challenge? PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSE? I could see the back in two panel pieces and the front in 3 and then seamed, or use a purl stitch between panels to imitate a break. The only thing I don't have a source for and couldn't wing it with is the gazelle which is JUST so unexpected and totally cool. Thanks for giving us all a glimpse of your home and world - and I'm glad you left the high end of design for the craft market. Long may you run.
I just can’t get enough of you two 😊 I wish you two had kits for purchase....it would be great success. Are you still with Regia? I can’t seem to find your line with them. U.S.A. Fan 👍
I love the design of the last sweater on the dummie....the fitted waist and the wide lower ribbing is nicely balanced by the neck....while the color of green is very bright it clashes with the other colors.... perhaps at the time the. Knitter was unable to find a selection of wool in their local community....perhaps it’s the lower garment that one would wear that could adjust the eye to the green?
I am very late to the party-I am watching these two collection videos right now. How do you protect your sweaters? My stash seems OK from pests buy my husbands nice wool sweater has a sweater that has become quite a moth feast. I love the collection!! I have also signed up to watch your lecture next week. I am looking forward to it.
It's never too late to start collecting. Search thrift shops and second hand shops, we are sure you will find some treasures for your upcoming collection!
Hi.. Can you write a book with patterns of your vintage collections, please.. I am very much intrigued to knit sweaters like this. Esp, i wanna make the asymmetric sweater with double knit scarf.. Please do make a pattern to hand knit..

The last sweater (the "ugly" one) looks like finnish revontuli (northern light) sweater. I'm not sure if it's finnish or was it just popular in Finland at one point
Your grandmother's barn jacket is my very favorite of the sweaters you have shown us. I love it. Especially the colors and the geometric design.
Thank you Colette, we love it to!
Colette Gjuka it’s just like mine and mine is worn out from wearing it lol
I found a free downloadable pattern with the same color work.

@@colettegjuka9604Thank you so much! I love this jacket and hopefully I will someday knit a version of my own in autumnal colors
I love the stories about Arne grandmother. Her barn sweaters are so beautiful. Thank you for another lovely video.
I love how you show such kindness to one another.
From the second Arne said “hello” in his adorable way, I had a smile on my face.
I know you don't like it, but that zipper one is my favorite! That green is just wow to me.

Love the Scandinavian leopard print sweater!
Love peeping in your closet 👀

Love all the sweaters! The green is not ugly or too green. It's pretty the zipper does need work. Thank you for sharing.

HI arne and carlos! i was wondering if you would show us your own collection of sweaters that you made and wear??
How do you store your sweaters to keep them fresh and safe from wool bugs?
Hello I watched this channel and finally got a book because I wanted a sweater with a ball of yarn. I'd like to read a book and use the yarn, but please tell me what to do. Thank you for always looking forward to it.
Hi Noriko, we have several tutorials on how to knit on our website.
@@ARNECARLOS Thank you. I always saw how to knit and understood. However, I want to knit with the same yarn if there is one. Yarn ball 2014 winter page 10 I inquired about the original yarn of Arne & Carlos.

You have just answered my question from video number 1
😂😂
Is your grandmother's barn sweater and the grey sweater from the attic made with the same design? They looked simular. I would love to make a sweater like the barn sweater, it was truly beautiful!
No, the designs are quite different. Both are equally lovely, though.
Do you know of a pattern that is similar to the barn sweater that I could use?
There is a pattern, but I think it is in Norwegian. It is called "Maihaugen-kofte". www.sandnesgarn.no/maihaugen
The last sweater (the "ugly" one) looks like finnish revontuli (northern light) sweater. I'm not sure if it's finnish or was it just popular in Finland at one point
Thanks for the feedback, will make a point of investigating further and learn more about Finnish revontuli.
Enjoy very much
Do you machine knit? If you do, what machine do you use? I knit on a brother, a silver reed or a knit master.
Very rarely. We have a hand knitting machine but we don't use it very often. It's a Brother.
Strick is written in Germany we call knitting stricken
😊
Älskar den gråa koftan med hakarna och den fula koftan skulle ha en mörkare grön färg .
You say you have an archive full of inspiration. Then you make it modern. What is "modern"? Just shape changes?
Wow
Thank you!
The «ugly» green sweater looks like Eskimo by Sandnes
Trendstrick sounds German. Stricken is knitting in German.
YEs, you are right about that. It's German :-)

Thank you!
