Can’t wait for the next anniversary tour for Ixnay. They need to play Gone Away, I Choose and Amazed live again. Me & My Old Lady pffttt it’s over… easily their best record
58 years old and hes still doing it. Always heard his voice on the radio working on dragsters and funny cars at the track..and at the skatepark. 34 now still a huge fan. I try to buy his hot sauces when I can.
I still remember the 90s being introduced to the smash album. Would listen to the smash album, old green day and beastie boys over and over. Finding and listening to music was such a community activity and effort in the past. Now I can find 10 new singers/bands a day on youtube just riding the algorithm wave sitting on my lazy boy.
I am not saying that I like the way you can get access to new bands/singer's now a day's. But I do have to admit I do miss them day's of going to the cd store and picking up some of your favourite album's. I love the excitement of opening that plastic seal wrapped around your new cd.
@@martyt666 I certainly don't miss spending a year's allowance on albums just to bring them home and find that the single rocks, the next song is half-decent, and the rest of the album totally sucks :) What I definitely DO miss is the very rare pure magic of finally finding that great album. I'm 47 now and not much in life really compares to that. All the usual garbage about normal life like jobs, making money, buying crap absolutely NEVER competed with the joy of finding a great album. The love for music changes you. All the other stuff in life that people make such a huge fuss over is such trivial BS. I'll never get excited about working, money, cars, consumer shit or buying stuff. I certainly never cared about having babies and making big fuss over their "careers" and whether or not the little shits are going to Harvard or Yale. The love for music reigns supreme. Music is Life.
This interview took a while to get going and for them to build a bit of rapport and then just as they get into a flow, it cuts! Wtf? Give us part two! 😂 When Joel said ‘two records’ I definitely thought it’d be Smash and Americana. Loved Dexter’s smile when he said Ixnay, you could tell he wasn’t expecting it even before he said it!
My man! Thanks for the observations, you are a true fan,I was not expecting such moment anyways, I'm grateful for the love. How long have you been following me?
I remember hearing The Offspring back on KROQ and bam just loved them! I made a play list of 105 songs, 5 hours and 15 minutes from the start of Manic Subsidal, the one song I could find. Followed by each album in order of dates they came out. Now I pass my love of the Offspring on to my kids & my car
Yeah, it's a great one! I can't believe it was so long ago. I never got to enjoy Ixnay when it was released, I had just finished high school in 1996 and when Ixnay came out a year later I was agonizing over working for a living. I hate jobs so I was morbidly depressed and Ixnay passed me by. Years later I gave Ixnay a passive cynical listen just out of idle curiosity. WOW. Mind blown. What a fucking GREAT album.
Fuck off. Get over it already. If you think their music sucks then don't listen to it but keep your politics to yourself because we're all tired of people bitching about this shit. Dexter knows a hell of a lot more about biology than you do, he has a PhD in it so you can be fairly confident that he had damn good reasons for getting his band members vaccinated.
They fired Pete because he wouldn’t be able to tour, that’s basically their main source of income and way to stay relevant. It was 4 years ago as well, and their new drummer is fantastic. Go listen to The Defiant if you’re still hung up on Pete Parada, he’s in a band full of unvaccinated people lol
It's pretty obvious if you gave enough of a fuck to figure it out! They wanted to tour which requires travelling, you can't do that unless you're vaccinated because of the risk of spreading the disease, so they needed a drummer that could accept the vaccination. Why the fuck is that so difficult for you to understand dumbass?
You keyboard warriors are really the only ones who keep bringing it up. But go ahead and challenge science with a dude who has a PhD in molecular biology, and did a 180 page dissertation literally studying a virus.
@@strangerflowersthat's an appeal to authority fallacy. Doesn't change the fact that he was wrong and so are you. All that education, only to be outreasoned by people that you consider less than himself.
Ixnay is 10/10. Its an amazing album! So underrated

Ixnay is so underrated. So many good songs in it
No kidding! Ixnay is just about a 10/10 album and I can only name two off the top of my head and I've been a music fan for well over 40 years!
Great interview. Wish it was longer!

I'm with Joel on the Ixnay album. One of the best ever. MOOTAAA!!
And now I have to go listen to it...

It's insane how youthful he looks
Yeah hes barely aged in 30 years
Loved that but definitely wanted it to be much much longer.
Finally someone mention Ixnay on the hombre that’s great album , and where is the rest of the interview 😢❤
Very nice but ended abruptly. Is there a Part II or a full interview somewhere?
I'm sorry for the abruption,I always hope to do better, any recommendations
Keep on support
Smash and Ignition are my favorites by Offspring.
Smash is definitely one of the best records of all time. I do agree with Joel there.
1994 was just a legendary for music in general so many iconic albums.
Ixnay might be their best record pound for pound

Yeah it just ended and now I got blue balls big time
Great conversation, congrats! Dexter is my f*cking hero.
I love Joel Madden and Dexter Holland
Oh my gosh, I never thought about it, a lot of stars do interviews where the interviewer doesn’t even care about them. Yeesh.
Ixnay is arguably their best record
This chat was cool as fuck.
Ixnay is what got me here!
Part 2!
Can we see the full interview somewhere?
Looks like all the videos on this channel are only 15 minutes
On Veeps website or app.
Dexter sang on "Massacre" with the Dwarves that took a small shot at G.C. so this might be a little weird...
Ignition
What shoe is dexter wearing?
Huh? Who cares?! I guess you're a chick asking lameass questions about his stupid shoes. I wanna know what aircraft he's flying!
The Offspring rocks!!!! 😂😎
His hot sauce Gringo Bandito is great

This guy is a horrible interviewer. Dexter had to step in to make things flow a bit better
Yo Dexter. Why did you fire your drummer after he presented legit reasons why he couldn’t take the shot?…..I guess money is more important.
Yo, Kevin. It happened over four years ago. Why are you still hung up on it? I guess pushing a narrative is more important.
Because he wouldn't be able to travel, so he wouldn't be able to tour. Offspring still wanted to work.

Why didn't you ask him about kicking the drummer out because he wouldn't take the poison?.

How many times is Dexter vaccinated? If it's not at least 50 times, I'd kick him out of the band.
Oh Christ get over it. That's the only thing people can say about the Offspring?!
