So true. I am a... "multi-system-shooter". Every brand has it's own... characteristics. And limitations. So it's always a challenge, inspiration and fun to shoot different cameras, especially older ones. Thanks for your honest thoughts 👍🏻
That's awesome. And I love that thinking of being a multi-system shooter. We have so many great choices for cameras now. Why not experiment and try different things.
I was one of those mad at Chris Orange for switching to Leica. One of the reasons was that his Fujifilm gear reviews were some of the best out there. I made a bunch of camera choices based on his recommendations and followed him closely through his Fujifilm journey. It was the loss of future reviews that saddened me most as well as the feeling he was leaving the ‘family’. I eventually came around and I remain a subscriber. I continue to enjoy his outstanding photography and wisdom.
Exactly! I mean these labels are inevitable and I’ll still throw them around about myself but some people are way too attached to the brand and what not.
Let's don't forget that YT is also about business and many RUclipsrs change camera systems from time to time to give a push to their channel (although they won't tell us). Recently there have been quite a few changes away from for example Fujifilm to Leica. Maybe Leica is trying to get more presence on YT?
Agree. I think when some people watch a channel about certain gear they buy that gear based on recommendations from the youtuber. When the said, youtuber changes gear they feel like they've been duped maybe? Look at the outrage when Bob Dylan picked up an electric guitar. We tend be tribal in our outlooks about anything - I think it's human nature.
Great point about feeling duped. I can understand how some might feel that way sometimes. And tribalism is definitely human nature. Thanks for watching and for your comment! I appreciate these conversations.
I am not a photographer. I take pictures. There’s a huge difference and huge reduction in ego because of it. You call yourself something romantic like that and you start thinking your bigger and more important than you a really are. The push for individualism caused this!
@@jorghahn2903 one mindset you feel like people should look at your photos. The other you just take pictures and what happens, happens. Connotation has a lot to do with it as well
@DeeB1345 I see your point. For me, "photographer" has always been the profession, although technically speaking, anyone taking photos is a photographer. With that said, I also consider myself as someone just taking pictures.
To my way of thinking, a photograph is something produced by a camera. A picture is something your kid drew at school and you stick it on your fridge. I don't see anything arrogant whatsoever as referring to yourself as a photographer. It is lkterally the definition of the word. What do you call yourself, a picture'er 😅?

Yeah, I feel you, I really do.
"I am a photographer"... although everyone calls me a Fujifilm photographer, I use Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and more!

Very true. Great point.
Interesting. So what's the difference?
