As interesting as it would be for the remaster to change the story so drastically, I doubt the plot would even be salvageable at that point. Think of how much dialogue they would have to replace if the sandwich died back at Colony 9.
Hold up... Gormott and Uraya are totally 2 arcs each. You have the arrival arc (capped by Bridgid) and Nia retrieval arc for Gormott and the Mercenary Village/Mentor's tests arc and Mentor's will inheritance arc. Heck, even Tantal on it's own is almost 2 arcs, because there is that one really big climax, then the action falls and rises to another climax with Jin. The more I think about it Mor Ardain has two arcs and driving plotlines, the Imperial Alliance Arc and the Poppi Upgrade/Dadapon Retrieval Arc, but they have a nice, but brief overlap, where both are going simultaneously. The World Tree is also a lot of mini-arcs, because the Amalthus Trancendence/Torna's Last Stand arc has it's big climax*, preceding the Elysium Revealations arc that culminates in the Aegis Death Battle fight. Almost all the titans would be acts/chapters composed of about 2-3 arcs. It makes sense they would want the chapters to be 2 arcs, because the climaxes shake things up and keep the story interesting since chapters can take 10s of hours. *Indol declaring war on everybody could also be considered the end of an arc as well, but what kind of an anime would have a single guy literally start a war with every nation and the series' previous antagonists, uniting the entire world and previous antagonists into a unified force against him and his "army" of countless mooks.
If we're thinking of Xenoblade 2 as an actual anime I think it would be best to either split up Torna into more than 1 part or shorten it. Usually when a series strays from the main cast and story for too long people lose interest.
You can have some flashbacks on previous arcs for context and then do a 2 or 3 episode segment of Torna. Something like the story of Avatar Wan in Korra could work well.
I'd like to edit xenoblade cutscene and some gameplay parts as anime episodes to make it easier to watch without having to play, I'm lazy so probs will never get it done
Putting all of the cutscenes together in Xenoblade 2 comes to about 14 hours. That would be able 28 half hour episodes, which could easily be cut to shorten things down to 2 cours.
I can see why you break up the story like you did, but I'd define the arc's/ saga's for XC1 a little differently. I break it into 'Innocence' (named for it's contrast to the next arc, this is the game up to Fiora's 'death'), 'Quest for Revenge' (this arc is rather self-explanatory), 'Confusion' (this is where we enter the grey area where Shulk is torn between wanting revenge and sympathizing with the Mechon), and 'Redemption' (Shulk choosing to fight for those he once swore to destroy, fighting to break the cycle of hatred and revenge).
Do you want gameplay or story? Xenoblade X is easily the best xenoblade gameplay wise imo, it's huge and amazing and just a lot of fun with great side quests and world building. Not as main-story heavy Gears is super, super narrative focused and the story is very complex. I started playing it on my phone but it was too difficult to play with the little controller I had so I quit and just watched the story on RUclips. You could do that if you wanted to experience the story and be able to play X.

@@xenobestx8423 yeah man it really hit home 40 hours in how lonely that sandwich was

I think shortening it into a 2 - 5 episode mini arc would be what I would do.
Torna: tales from the past saga
Make get another one of these for xenosaga and xenoblade 3

LUXIN! do you recommend Xenogears or Xenoblade Chronicles X? I only have enough for one and I don’t wanna make the wrong choice

People complain that xenoblade 1 is anime as fuck, even though gears and saga are pretty damn anime as well.
