Ah not sure what you mean mate, I just use some Himalayan salt (pink rock salt) and sprinkle it into my bait mix which could consist of anything really. I use the Nash stuff but you can use regular salt. Salt is an essential part of the carp’s diet so it’s a powerful attractor.
@@bmarkham47 Hi mate, a syrup by definition is sugar based so if it’s a syrup you want you have to use sugar in some form. Mix salt with water and you make a brine, not a syrup. However, there’s no reason why you can’t make a syrup with plenty of himalayan salt in it and that’s the road I’d take. Best of luck, Matt.
Thanks Matt. We know syrup is sweet.but if im adding hymalayan salt im going to loose the sweetness. Is there maybe another way to combine both. I can only think of a syrup mix then when I go fishing to add the rock salt at the last moment for max taste of sweet combined with the salt ...idk.

Matt.i know your busy but could you point the time to make a himalayas mix..???
Brian
Ah not sure what you mean mate, I just use some Himalayan salt (pink rock salt) and sprinkle it into my bait mix which could consist of anything really. I use the Nash stuff but you can use regular salt. Salt is an essential part of the carp’s diet so it’s a powerful attractor.
Sorry Matt.bloody auto correct..it should have said could you possibly make a hymalayan rock salt flavour syrup???
Sorry if im taking to much of your time.
Brian
Spoilt for ingredients in France my farther inlaw is French he misses the food more than the people lol
Well we miss bacon and cheddar mate lol but you can't have everything 😂
Can the first recipe be stored and if so how long will it last???
@@steveparsons9110 It's only sugar, water and orange zest so it'll keep for months in the freezer.
How well does this syrup work compared to store bought?
I made this for fun, I fancied trying it and it works great. I use branded liquids as well and they work too 😊
Maybe adding a few drops of essential oil orange tangerine or cinnamon 🤔
Yes, that would have been a nice addition 👍
@Matthew Collins also using liquidised corn instead of water 😉
Hi Matt what would I need to buy to make this plz would like to know everything I need plz so I can try it out
Hi Bert,
For the simple syrup, I just use water, sugar and orange zest.
For additional flavour I added: orange flowered honey, condensed milk and Cointreau (orange-based spirit). You could swap or change ingredients of course.
@@matthewcollinsangler where can I buy those from what is zest
@@bertharding1987 You can buy the ingredients in a supermarket. Orange zest is what you get after you grate the outside of the orange. Have a look at the video, I go through each step in detail.
@@matthewcollinsangler the skin of the orange u mean
@@bertharding1987 yes
How you getting on with this? i filter out all shorts so I can't see your upload about it.
Hi Richard, February was tough and I blanked for 3 ½ weeks! Nothing to do with the syrup though (there’s a full video out tomorrow about my winter session and my blank.) In the end I had 11 carp, fishing with the syrup. It works well mate. You’ve still got to get everything else right of course but I’ll definitely be using it again when time allows me to fiddle around like this. Cheers, Matt.
@@matthewcollinsangler great i will watch tomorrow find all your videos informative 👍👍👍
Used for the first time caught a 38lb catfish with it
Very nice, great to hear 👍
Bro is cooking better food for carp than i am for me 💩
Why can't a translation in Polish be generated in your videos
Hi there, I'm surprised it's not working for you. Go to settings on the video, then subtitles, then auto translate and then pick your language. I've checked and it works for me.
