    Thank you for testing the security for this device! I also saw the paper clip video but I feel pretty confident buying this for myself now.

    Been trying to identify how easy it is to get in to the small Vaultek safes. I’m scared to have something so easily picked up and broken into.

    Thanks for testing out, I need one for my getaway pistol in natural disaster but other products are too expensive

    Use it for what it is and don't let your expectations exceed it's obvious limitations and you'll be fine. Do you buy a car expecting/hoping it will fly? This is a privacy device meant to keep the contents private and more difficult to access, not protect the contents to a high degree. It's lightweight and it's security features lend it to be a good travel companion.

    I love LPL and reviewed a lot of mini safes before buying this but I didn't bother to check what LPL had to say because it seemed to be the most secure lightweight option to what I was looking for. I've been really happy with it but tonight decided to see what LPL had to say and when I saw the picture of it with a fork I was like awe shit lol thankfully Vaultek, like a boss fixed the issue which was super cool to find out so I went looking to see if there was an updated video since the change and came across yours. Thanks for testing out the other possible flaw, I feel better knowing a grownman with a screwdriver couldn't easily get in, so thank you! ❤️

      It's a pretty solid choice. I thought it was going to be easier to get that panel off but it is on there pretty good. I am thinking about continuing to try to see if there is a hole underneath I can use to reach the latch but I'm not sure I want to totally destroy it at this point because it seems secure enough.

      Amazon has it on sale for 68$ right now so now would be a good time to replace it and keep digging at the other.

    It’s a plastic case. I’d say the only people you’d be worried about keeping out of it are kids and people that aren’t willing to destroy it.

    Spatchula or a tire iron work fine just put one foot on it and push the whole assembly pops off after the plastic warps a bit also any Dremel tool or handsaw can get through the hinge in under 5 minutes

    • @SHINE88
      @SHINE88  2 года назад +1

      After the assembly pops off, are you able to push the latch and open it? I figured you could cut the hinge too. I might do that next and film it.

  • @liameneuk
    @liameneuk Год назад +1

    I guest softening the hinge by a heatgun may do the trick.

    likely I would cut the cable and just cut your safe open in a Safe spot , no pun, the rechargeable cutting tools its no challenge

      So would a forklift. Or some TNT. What are we trying to find out - if a 100 dollar item is impenetrable? It's not. It's 100 bucks. The real question is just whether or not there is a BETTER 100 dollar gun safe? If so, what?

    If you got all this time to use a screwdriver, you might as well take out a rotary tool, cause a robber is not staying at someone's home doing this shit lol Yes, i understand the point of this video

  • @Goldarach

    Why ruine the safe knowing it's the updated version? Obviously if you brute force your way into any safe, it will eventually crack open proving absolutely nothing (since all safes eventually succumb to said brute force). It's a great safe but you didn't need to confirm the obvious.

    • @SHINE88
      @SHINE88  2 года назад +3

      I saw another video for a similar vaultek safe and they easily removed the keypad section and opened latch using a paper clip. I wanted to see if I could do that with this safe. I know with more brute force/power tools I could get it open.

      That's a good thing in my mind. I wanted to see how it would stand up to an attempt to break it open. It actually still works, just a bit mashed up.

      @@SHINE88 I wouldn’t use this for home, but I think it’s a pretty solid safe for keeping in a vehicle. I’m thinking of buying it for those times I can’t legally carry, and it should do a good job in that application. I appreciate your time and sweat brother. Happy Thanksgiving 2022!
