I am not a gun nerd, but it's nice to see how those guys enjoy their find. And thanks for taking care of the German guns feeling! ;-) Let me return the favour: The dedication in the book is written in the old German script and translates as: In loving memory from your sister Lotte (Zur liebenden Erinnerung von deiner Schwester Lotte)
Just that box of Walthers and the Luger are worth a lot. The PPK is a superb little gun that many underestimate. Looks like the person had something for german firearms! There's a LOT of money invested inside those safes. I'm a collector and I'm impressed!
It may just be my fondness for Walther/7.65 but I suspect that your collection is far superior to my own, since you are impressed and I am struck with jealously and/or envy.
Yah he definitely had a thing for German guns and then he pulled out that copy of hitlers autobiography and I was like yaaaaaah.
Most of these guns were pretty cheap back when the original owner bought them
I equate a PPK with all of the James Bond movies until 97. Bronsnan Bond got a P99.
here in Norway you can buy a like new ppk for 200 dollars.
So much history in those 2 safes. What an incredible collection.
It might have been a good idea to check and ensure the each gun is clear as you picked it up.
Do you really think he didn't? Jesus. You safety nannies are insufferable.
lmao he flagged the cameraman a few times
@@Nathdood more than a few times........ SMH
@@Nathdood my thought too... pointed it at his head as well
well it fake as f...
I am an avid collector that has bought several estates over the years. I would have been 100% thrilled with almost anything from that collection, but the sheer number of world class guns is staggering. That collection will buy a very nice house!
What an amazing collection, the value is certainly a tremendous amount, the first generation Colts were killing me, such a fan.
Just a little side fact if anybody else wondered what the inscription in the mein kampf book at 8:43 was about: It says in German „Zur Beeinerung an deine Schwester Lotte“ which translates to something like „In memory of your sister Lotte“. This old font is called „Kurrentschrift“ and is really hard to decipher, even for me as a German. So correct me for any mistakes in the translation if you now better!
Zur Erinnerung ... but otherwise korrekt.
the way to write is called Sütterlin. it's the way german was written before the latin way of spelling was used.
A book written by a brutal dictator who killed millions. I will pass. No glory in having that.
@@user-ll4lf5go1m That's a strange way to spell "a hero who tried to save Western civilization"
@@user-ll4lf5go1m No different in the "glory" of collecting the weapons they used. It's all historical now. Collecting these things is what keeps the history alive, otherwise it falls down to a place where most history may not be forgotten, but is definitely not teached to most. Ridding ourselves of history is exactly what dictators like him do and have done.
The amount of money sitting in the garage is actually mind blowing.
Might be worth more than the house.
WOW I was hyped up before he even got to the safes and was going through that plastic gray box. What a find!! Im glad the right man has these now and they are in good hands. Great video!
My jaw dropped with that p5 compact. What an amazing under appreciated pistol. I’d have picked that up.
Me too I’ll love to have one
I looked up a couple pictures and I love the Lang version, absolutly beautiful.
Love that he points them at everyone without clearing them. He is dangerous AF.
I find myself dodging the screen, and praying for everyone in the background
Dude, go back to your safe place, and take your blankie.
with a finger on the trigger.....
You guys are all morons. Everything was cleared and checked. Imagine how long the video would have been if they would have shown you them clearing every single item. It would be a 4 hour video. Nothing like RUclips nannies.
Add he picks them up by putting his finger in the trigger guard.
I can't imagine how thrilling going through this incredible collection in person. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
I am SOOOOOOOO glad the family didn't simply call the police to have all that stuff hauled away and destroyed.
Total waste of money if they did that lol
My grandmother did that with my grandfather's stuff from being a NY police officer and detective. My aunt was so pissed and told them they needed to give it all back. They made her go through 6 months of classes and permits/licensing (NY) and then they would only give back 3 pistols. They said everything else was illegal and they were to be destroyed aka they kept it all for themselves. That's the one thing my grandmother did that pissed me off, but she was older and mourning so she wasn't thinking straight.
In 55' after having it for almost 20 years, *he was an officer from 42-46 in the Pacific*, my grandfather turned his Navy issued 1911 over to Cleveland police. Nobody knows why. Conscience perhaps because they weren't supposed to take them home. Of course, I am sure an officer took it immediately for safe keeping.
@@pattycakes456Probably won’t keep em for themselves, definitely will destroy them, I have a friend in the Ohio police who had to watch a M1928 Thompson with drum magazine, an MP40 from 1943 Eastern front and another Thompson M1A1 variant get taken away to be destroyed.
We are SOOOOOOOO glad that you’re glad. Thanks for your great comment.
SAD going thru his pride and joy knowing he is deceased .
Yes but in good hands.
dead man's treasure. Shows How he spent his life.
its in my will.....all my guns are to be buried with me. hahahaha!
Awesome finds!! Zero muzzle safety.
I came to see if someone talked about that. They either cleared them before the video or should never handle a gun again.
Accident waiting to happen ... made my skin crawl ... even had his finger on the trigger @7:14 ...
you really think a gun expert isn't going to check the chamber and the mags beforehand lol, kinda silly to think that way
As a Locksmith and Safe Tech, I have opened many safes and seen some great collections. I would have had a heart attack if I would have swung the door on this 😮
Question as a Locksmith/Safe Tech do you stack a bunch of stuff in front of the safe after you finish the task of opening?
@@learnmore6192 Nope. My thoughts are that they must have been able to get the factory combos from Liberty.
So tell me this how much are those & are they official gun or weapons storage safes or just Safes?

EPIC collection!! As a Marine, I've wanted one of those USMC 1911s for YEARS!! And they have TWO!?!?!
Wasn’t those 1911s issued out to the Recon guys?
@@frankcastle4435 Yup. Saw a couple in country. I think Kimber made some for us at some point, too.
Gunbroker has plenty
@@Clevelandsteamer324 I see one on there from time to time...the price has gone through the ROOF over the years.
this dude definitely bought these guns when they were MUCH cheaper and more common
I like how the gun “professional” flagged everyone with the pistols, that was real nice. Didn’t clear one of them.
Im betting they went through everyone of them before making the video. We dad that with my grandpa's collection as we laid them out my uncle cleared everyone and then we went through writing down serial numbers and marking each one with tape, value and name of family member grandpa had it going to. The video would be way to long to appease the safety nazis who need to see every gun cleared.
The video had cuts in between parts so how are you so sure they weren’t cleared?
Either way - wasn't the best handling of them... @@Bigmanfitness77
I was thinking the same thing, more about how he swings them around. I am assuming all were unloaded but the way he swings them around isn't ideal.
Man that was so triggering. Even if they precleared and the video is staged, at least go through the motions of appearing to be professional and clear the pieces and for god sakes don't flag em.🤯
Wow, didn’t expect that volume of collectible pistols! Take care of yourself and keep enjoying the hunt for years to come, always nice when you bring us along too!
That was a lifetime collection. Image the leg work involved in building a collection of this quality. Wow I am blown away. He definitely had good taste.
What a treat, after a long day of yard work in Florida. Thanks for bringing us along!
The dedication in the book is "In loving memory of your sister Lotte"
Thank you! It’s hard for me to get through the handwriting, so I appreciate the translation. I was wondering what it might say.
The handwriting is actually the older folk's style - it is called Sütterlin (Suetterlin, without the Umlaut)... My grandparents were fluent writers and readers in this. Reading old postcards and letters is always a treat (NOT!!!)... 😁😁😁
Now that was an absolutely gorgeous collection . Never ever call the authorities for such finds..
Making me nervous swinging those muzzles around. Nice finds!!!!
Watching from United Kingdom and I must say how lucky you are over there what a find.
If ever you get the chance, do come and visit! The cities aren’t nearly as worth it as the countryside here in the US, so I would recommend a tour of one or more of our national parks. Besides, there are more gun ranges with interesting rentals out in the ‘boonies’ 😉
WOW! I am speechless! What a collection! I'm so happy tat the family called the right person to open and inventory the safes because they could've gotten ripped off very easily! Thanks for sharing this video with us!
Nice collection , wish you would have given the manufacturer of the M1 carbines .
Love the fact that the barrel is pointed at his side kick almost evertime he handles a new gun.
Love the Enterprise up top from TOS. my favorite enterprise.
it certainly fits with the whole "nobody has seen these in a long time" notion. To boldly go.... into old safes in search of antique firearms!
this fella really loved his Walthers...
Wow, amazing collection. Thanks for bringing us along. The Enterprise model on top of the safe is awesome too.
That is a lifetimes worth of passion and hard work amassing all those amazing firearms
If the owner passed and all are getting auctioned off, it is sad in a way. You can never take it with you. At least his family will get the benefit of his hard work.
Can't wait to see what the final valuation/auction sum is for the whole collection, make sure you give us an update on what the family got out of it when all is said and done!
Cameraman got a nice view down the barrel on almost every gun!
it drove me crazy too!
Yup couple times with a finger on the trigger
A collector would leave them unloaded, but you never know.... and that is a terrible practice without checking first as we are all aware.
People die all the time making that assumption.
Also bugged me how he didn't seem to check a single of those magazines.
What a fun video! I share so much of his excitement. Imagine you being the one to open up these safes and go through all of these amazing guns.
Now that was an absolutely gorgeous collection . Astounding find. Thank you for showing us this impressive collection!.
It’s cool how the mags are still in, Safety is off on many of them and none 7:33 seemed to be checked and cleared properly. Fingers inside trigger guards.
This is incredible
Just the safes are awesome.
The collection is out of this world.
I didn't hear the background, probably an old WWII Vet collection. These firearms were very inexpensive in the 60's and plentiful. Not so today. There are a bunch of these treasure chests out there. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so jealous. Such a beautiful collection. I’m not as into the ppks and mousers / Lugers but the revolvers and the 1911s are incredible
Absolutely amazing and beautiful collection. I couldn’t imagine being you guys to open the safes and find all those!
Yeah but that was someone's collection before. Who knew what sort of collector they were or if they wanted others to see it. But now they are dead and others are going to use it a lot more than that guy ever did. If anything is learned here it's that you should enjoy your life and the things you have because one day you'll die, and all your things in this world will be up for auction like this guy's stuff.
This is some of the most dangerous gun handling I've ever seen!
all would have been checked and logged prior to the video making
@@MegaDRjohn ALWAYS treat a gun as if it were loaded.. but hey it was checked.. like Alec Baldwins?
@@mjl603omg the guy has been doing this for his whole life! Stfu buncha dork ass know it alls. You have NO idea what occurred before the camera starts rolling🤦🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫
They're using the Alec Baldwin Manual of Arms.
You must live in your parents basement! Before showcasing any gun they are "Always" 1st checked for being Unloaded. Gun and magazines. Go back to your basement.
Amazing what one person can collect over a lifetime.
If I had all the ones I've ever owned, there would be a lot more safes than that to go thru.
I love Horders
It was probably not that hard/expensive to collect these like 50,60 years ago... :) Who would want old war pistols after the war...they were literally everywhere.
What one person used to be able to collect*
Collections like these just get broken down and sold. But hey, it’s better than the countless priceless firearms that the jackboot npcs have shredded over the years.
Many years ago I had a neighbor in his 80s who had been an infantryman and had pretty muck walked from to the coast of France to Austria in WWII. His unit came across a warehouse and of course broke in. They found cases of P-38s and helped themselves. He took a dozen boxed pistols and over the next few weeks tossed them one at a time on the side of the road as they became heavier and heavier.
Absolutely amazing collection- glad they were not destroyed
Had a blast watching this. Genuinely outstanding "garage-found". 😉👍🏻
Excellent collection! The deceased was indeed a man of high taste.
Yes he was. I’m old, and slowly getting rid of my stuff. When I go….I have to leave it all behind anyways. We come into the world with nothing…and we go out the same way.
To heck with that; im taking it ALL with me! Including the 3 or 4 concubines that will have to be slept before being tucked in beside me!!
I concur with your assessment
The first thing I would do when picking up ANY weapon would be to ensure it was not loaded.
Wow! Thank you for sharing this amazing collection!
That is an insane collection, I'd guess around $500k dollars for everything at least . WOW
Try over a couple million dollars 😉 maybe in an auction the sky is the limit. A lot of time pieces that are part of history.
A dozen Lugers, a few dozen PP’s, PPK’s, P38’s, a dozen 1911’s, mix in a few SAA’s and some M1 Carbines, all of which are in near pristine condition and of great quality. Yeah, thats $500k plus. Hopefully over the next couple of years it all gets dispersed and lowers the prices of Lugers and PP’s at least by some amount.
What a collection of historical artifacts, I would love to own just a few of those incredible peices.
I mean that US&S 1911 is probably worth at least 20k alone. Watched one go for 25k a few months ago.
That will be a 2 million dollar collection by the time Legacy puts their price tag on it.
Astounding find. Thank you for showing us this impressive collection!
Really it looks like every gun he showed us in the past 5 years 🤔
My Grandfather (WW2 airforce veteren) passed away when I was 19. The family on my moms side didn't know I had my firearms license or an interest in WW2 history. They gave all of his firearms to the RCMP for destruction. I only found out about it when I was 25. I'm devastated every time I think about it since then. I can only imagine what he had in his collection from the war. So sad.
just about how bad i felt after seeing a 1950's baseball signed by the NY Yankees . signatures collected by my grandfather in Florida during the winter league one by one ,get totally ruined,,, by me
Glad these are all going to good home. Makes you wonder whats just sitting out there in garages, forgotten behind old Christmas decorations and file boxes.
My interest is the SAA Colts, I noticed instantly what's referred to the black powder frame guns, with the screw for the cylinder pin in front of the frame instead of spring-loaded cross pin.
I've always wanted one, but they are out of my price range.
It is an incredible find and incredible piece of history.
What a fantastic collection!!! Outstanding,
Someday, it would be fun to watch you show off the contents of you gun vaults.
This was the most exciting video I’ve seen in years on RUclips. Also makes me think twice about my safe being inside of the garage.
Wow! That tote box with the PPKs in it would have been plenty for me!! Such a grand find! Someone was a serious collector. Especially wartime collector!
Now that was an absolutely gorgeous collection 👍🏼
I am very happy to have found your site Thank you so much for showing us all these beautiful pieces of history God bless you all
Now I know why the lugers are so hard to find and so expensive ... this guy owned a lot of them!
Him pointing the barrel of those guns at people so many times caused me a lot of anxiety!!
Those P38s made me drool. The amount of Lugers were unreal! Wow!
@user-dn2kh4fn8sI have a gif for you, but utube doesn't allow insertion.
He had a fantastic collection. What a Find Tom.
What a absolutely amazing collection. I mean insane collection! Many people would be thrilled to have one or two of these in a collection much less the dozens of pretty much every significant WW2 pistol and so much more.
What an amazing find. Really enjoyed watching this, thank you!
Wow. So much history. Incredible collection.
I know your channel is geared towards the 20th century military firearms, but I so would have loved to see more on the Colt Peacemaker's he had in his collection. Astonishing collection. I would have liked to hear more about who this collector was as well. I have no doubt he would have been a fascinating guy to talk to when he was alive.
I second that, I've been growing a fondness for the 1873 SAA's (clones) myself!
@@freddobbs4437 Ditto.
Love how he picks up the pistols and just points them in his face and the cameraman's face without checking them. Darwin was on vacation today.
Thanks for sharing! Amazing knowledge of the guns.
And this is why gun collecting pays off. This guys collection probably quadrupled in value from the purchase dates. I'm sure it fared better than his 401K.
Didn't take it with him.
Prolly better than gold.
Didn't pay off for him, just sold off.
What a beautiful collection. My grandad brought back a P-38 from Germany at the end of the war and a bayonet that I always remember hanging on his wall. The craftsmanship of these firearms, the history and the fact that someone in WWII and even up to over 100 years ago carried some of these makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Greetings from germany. Nice weapons we have. This collector love german weapons.
Amazing gun safty checked all as you went along making sure none were loaded
I’m curious if they did a consignment or if they did a bulk buy? Tons of value there for sure!
Thrilling. Awesome collection!!!
I miss the days of exploring and acquiring collections with my dad! (He had an ffl and traded in firearms from 82 to 96, his passing.) Love the channel and this video really brought back the memories. Thank you so much!!!
Happy for you and Legacy...thanks for sharing the reveal.
Glad you didn't have a heart attack with the excitement and running back and forth...lol
Yikes! Safety flew out of the window on this exciting find and as for as we know, no one was wounded in the making of this video.
P.S. Actually No locksmith was needed, you could have called the FBI, they have All of the Liberty Safe Code combinations!
Yeah, guy was flipping guns around all over the place, several times pointing barrels at camera person and others. Just dumb.
If they get a warrant then the safe company will provide them the code, they don't have "all the codes" you misinformed gullible dolt. BTW, the FBI & ATF keeps us safe, so stop bashing them. They have stopped and prevented hundreds if not thousands of bad things from happening to people and to this country every year. The FBI also saves a lot of lives every year and arrests a lot of very bad people. They don't always advertise their accomplishments. They're heroes. They just recently arrested a crazed individual who threatened the life of a Republican Congress woman and her family. The funny thing is, this Republican Congresswoman called for the "defunding" of the FBI, but now she's taking them. You should stop spreading misinformation because it's contagious and dumb people are prone to getting sick from it.
Very first thing I noticed. He didn't clear a single gun, safetys off, and flagged the camera man more times that I can count.
All these locks have the ability for the owner to change the combination. They only way anyone would know the combination is if the owner kept it on the 'factory setting'.
right... call the fbi because THEY can be trusted these days.
Wow, great find! That enterprise model was awesome!
Good to see gloves come on around 8:00 min in, I wear gloves when I handle guns (mine or other people's)
I like the way u flip all the pistols around & point them at the camera man & other bystanders 👍

my jaw dropped just on the first bucket oh my god.... this is so gorgeous i would do anything to be the lucky guy who got this stuff or just to be in the same room as they went through this.
Hey Geraldo, Is it not customary to check any of the guns you are handling for the first time to see if they are loaded...? & the white cotton gloves are a nice touch, after you've handled all the guns already.
He says he put the gloves on so as to make wiping away grease and dust easier for checking stamps and engraving.

There are some cool non operational pieces out there. My dad has one that doesn't fire but you can play with the magazine and the toggle lock, I can't remember if the trigger clicks or not tho.
It's sad for us average guys income wise that really good quality Lugers have become very expensive! Back in the 90's you could buy a really nice Luger with holster for maybe a grand. Now that probably wouldn't put you on the Layaway plan with a good Gunbroker dealer! Back in the 90's I bought several really nice Lugers but had to sell them when I had a layoff from my job in 2008. Very nice! I think though what goes by most people is that during the time frame this particular collector acquired, the firearms were plentiful and very reasonable in price. I'll surmise a WW II veterans. I had an uncle that was in WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. Quite a colorful career. Collection was at least five times greater than what was shown. Nonetheless, this was cool. And there are other large collections awaiting as time and contacts unfold.
I am disturbed that he is waving those firearms around without clearing them first.
But what a beautiful collection!
