    Works good with a tripod stick setup. Eliminates the poles inside. Works great either way . Most clear simple tutorial on this I've seen yet. Nice job. Love the pups.

    Fantastic tutorial. I was looking a way to make a tent style tarp and this is exactly what I was looking for. It seems you can also cover the entrance with the flapping parts. Gonna practice this today.

    I just bought 2 of these. I already had the DD Hammock. This is a great system. I have no complaints. 10/10.

    Cool. I do the same but with a 4.5x3 DDXL. I tuck a 3rd underneath and it gives me a floor the rest is the same but I use two sticks as an a frame so the pokes are out of the way. The easy way to keep the sticks together is wrap the wrist supports from one stick round the other and put a hat over them.

    Hi bro, in my opinion, if you use a bipod instead of one only "support", you can have more and free space inside the tent. Cheers!

    Thanks if I ever end up with just a tarp, I’ll know what to do. I normally use a pop-up much quicker and easier. Plus I got a floor in and zippered door.😊

      ...nothing beats the versatility of the tarp: you can choose the configuration most adapted to the circunstances, more roomy, more stealthy, more stable, more ventilated, you name it.
      I usually use smaller tarps most often in diamond config but if I am using the 3×3 (I have a DD but I like better the Varusteleeka) I recently bought the V3 but I've only tried it a sleeping bag / outer bag.

    With the handle of my trekking pole, I have a heck of a time keeping it in place. The DD tarp is very slick and the handle is even a soft plastic. With the tension on the tarp, it just wants to slide / kick out at the top. I have even tried putting the pole on an angle hoping it wouldn’t slip / kick out.

      Try putting something on the handle, or tie the tarp to a branch and don't use the pole

      Find something with material like a spare sock etc. should be rock solid with one pole setup.

    Just found you channel... Love this setup and I use a DD 3x4.5 just love the extra room it gives... Also you don't need to push out the corners to do the two pole setup. Great channel and loving what I have seen so far... One question could you put up a vide with all the Tarp setups in one??? easier to binge watch and pass n to others.. same with anything similar subjects... small vides and the a compilation later on...

    You make it sound so simple ..my only concern is how cold would it get inside during the winter months as you will need an airflow to avoid condensation...

      @@RedBranchBushcraft Done this setup with the same tent in spring Finland. My advice that I found worked quite well is to create two little draft openings at the bottom of the tent that are in line and away from your sleeping zone

    You can buy a tent with a floor for the cost of a large tarp.

Tarps are for people playing this bushcraft game which is just a fad and a fraud to make money off of dummies who have never backpacked. Same with the "preppers" crap, and homesteading and off grid BS, just buzzwords to attract the sheep.

      not really, but you can do a pyramid / teepee style set up for bad weather, check my tarpology playlist

      You can pull the two front stakes and stake them in closer together then stick your pack in front of the smaller hole to block draft. I've done that when it got real cold and when it started blowing rain. In colder weather you make the walking stick shorter also. Brings the size of the opening lower (smaller)

      What I do is to affix the front side flaps to their guy rops with carabiner clips. Then when I want to 'close' the doorway I detach the ropes and clip the carabiners together. A neat trip I learned from some other youtuber.

    Nice one. I have a question. Would it be possible to use this setup without the pole and instead use a ridgeline over the tarp and tie the center loop (as my tarp only has 1 center loop) to the ridgeline?

      Thanks!@@RedBranchBushcraft When i set the top peak point... I think i always put it in the wrong place? Because if the sides are nice and taught, the backside is always too tight and there is no slack left to pull it out, meaning it almost meets the ground at the back.

      Ah I understand, I put the peak more forward than I think, around the second ridge tie out , but sometimes I put it further back! Sorry I know that doesn't really help, I find moving things around to" just see" helps
