    I wish this music was heard more in this modern day...

    As someone majoring in Muisc Theory, I can say with some authority (on account of the pressure placed upon me to be snobbish about music) that his piece's popularity does not, in the least, exaggerate it's brilliance as a composition.

    It is crazy to think that Bach never published this work. It is fantastic!

      The building lacks reverberation. Sounds a shade acoustically dead. Just my own humble opinion. Fantastic playing.

    That is just one separation my friend, in fact, there are so many separations between toccata and the fugue. For example, near the final of the song, the toccata returns to scene, just before fugue was played.

    As someone that is also majoring in Music Theory, classical pianist and rock guitarist, I can say with some authority that this piece is brilliantly perfect (in the Fugue) and explosively rock (in the Toccata.) What can you say? Bach is Bach!

    I heard a theory that this piece was improvised by Bach and written later by one of his students/children? It seems simpler and so much more "rock and roll" than Passacalia for example. Could that be?

    • @fffhhh9982

      I read (in the kommentar of the organbook with Tockata d & Fuge) a Bach- scholar, Krebs, perhaps has written this piece. First it has been only a solo-string-instrument piece.

    It's 1 semitone higher, but amazing performance nonetheless

    • @LS-oh8kv
      @LS-oh8kv 6 лет назад +3

      No, it’s correct. The organ is tuned to A465, which is close to a half step higher not exactly. I believe Bach’s organ was also tuned to A465 so technically the other versions you hear would sound about a half lower than the original would’ve been.

    • @kennethcarrizal9871
      @kennethcarrizal9871 4 года назад +1

      @@LS-oh8kv Chorton Pitch (along with Kammerton Pitch A415) were all you would hear in the Baroque Period. We haven't even mentioned the Modified Meantone temperment at 69mm wind on the 1741 Trost Organ.

    • @watchmakerful
      @watchmakerful Год назад

      @@LS-oh8kv I often hear this tuning in various organ performances, it sounds rather unusual and charming.

    • @watchmakerful
      @watchmakerful Год назад

      @@kennethcarrizal9871 This means that the organ tuning and the tuning of other keyboard instruments (like clavichords and harpsichords) were incompatible with each other, i. e. the organ could be played only alone (or with a choir). Is it correct?
