The battle to end all battles. What a feeling it is to finally end the Bhaal arc and watch your character grow in power through the entire trilogy . Once a lvl 1 char that could barely survive a wolf in the wilderness has now become a legend capable of slaying dragons among other things :)
Damocles178 Dragons, Demiliches, Demon Princes, Lords of the Undead, Elemental Princes, Virtually Indestructible Demigods, and a Priestess with the Stolen Power of a Lesser God. Yes, the tale of CHARNAME will be written in the stars of Faerun for all eternity

This game is simply amazing. We started this game having trouble clearing a basement from rats. Now we battle actual gods, who swarm minions of creatures from highest level of hell and abyss around us, for the control of the universe. And the battle is, simply put, breath taking. No running around the corners, no going back, no rest, only ever growing swarms and swarms of demons, and returning god of murder who is out to kill us. And the villain reveal was actually quite brilliant. I don't know how you guys, but I never suspected that Mellisan, of all characters, would be the one to become the next Bhaal ahead of our character, even though he had quite the screen time in ToB, and was well set up for the part. This is, simply put, amazing conclusion to an amazing franchise. A final fight as it should be.
@@Arkanizz "The Lord of Murder shall perish, but in his doom he shall sire a score of mortal progeny. Chaos shall be sown from their passing." Is that 'passing', as in 'as they travel past places', causing trouble - or is that 'passing', as in 'their deaths'? Good question.
@@smartalec2001 I wonder haha, but the prophecy I refered to was the one that the stone mentions right as the game begins, just before you fight Ilasera.
@@Arkanizz Yeah that one. This is very important prophecy, because its clearly speak not only about false friend, but also about the ending of this story... no matter what you do, the old god will return... be it Charname with redeemed Bhaal power, or someone else.
The bitch-voiced VA (brilliant work) served as an early indicator to me. She said a few quips in the wrong intonation, just enough to make you doubt the charade.
espacially with the ascension mod - "original gamedesigners cut". Reviving your fallen companions, Gorion, Khalid and DYnaheir joining you in one last battle. soooooooooooooooooooooooooo emotionall
This fight has always given me trouble. It goes fine until Melissan stuns somebody and they instantly get wrecked. I have beaten it but it's always long and tough.
I play through the whole saga probably once every couple of years. Last time, Melissan got *epically* owned by my fighter/illusionist plus Edwin and Imoen, all maxed out. Chain contingencies with 3x lower resistance, spell triggers to back them up, 3x skull trap spell sequencers, simulacra, PFMW all round... she was dead before she could do anything. Don’t think we even suffered any damage. Absolutely bossed it!
@@DinkSmalwood Maybe you're right. Last I tried that I got annoyed in the very early goings. "Oh look, I got critted by a hobgoblin and now I'm DEAD." Should maybe grit my teeth and push through it...
@@johndeighan2495 Sure that was SCS? Cause SCS plays very fair, not really buffing hp and damage significantly except on insane difficulty. But even then it's not by much. SCS is more about improving AI and giving tactics and abilities to enemies that are completely in line with DnD. For example, enemy thieves go from being shitty fighters to potion of invisibility-chugging, chainbackstabbing terrors. But still very managable when you learn how to use terrain to protect weaker members, after which you dispel their invis and burst them down. Honestly I've never been so immersed in the combat before, the enemies don't feel so stupid anymore but instead act appropriately. Combat becomes a real joy and more challenging, in the right kind of way. Then, when you get access to lvl 6 and 7 spells you can solve pretty much any problem, including buffed dragons and liches.
i played this battle on bhaal difficulty and it was simply insane i had to use many times Wish, simulacrum just so i dont run out of spells... but fvk i enjoyed every second of it.
Bored of damn remasters and remakes of worthless and forgetable games... would definitely love one 5nd edition or oned&d remake of this saga ala Larian... And the music fully real orchestrated, but not changed !

I always remember this part fondly. Swatting down Balors and Planetars like they were Kobolds.

The music is exactly what the battle is. Absolutely insane, chaotic and epic.
Never would have made it without that genie in the bottle who refreshed my party during this end-fight...

I never suspected either, but come to think of it, if you pay attention to the prophecy shown at the very beginning of ToB you could guess something.

2024: You shall suffer!
This is God killing music right here
With or without the Ascension Mod this is an epic battle and a great way to end the Saga.
without Ascension its pretty lame if you ask me,
DOOM AWAIT THEE. YOU SHALL SUFFER.
"YOU SHALL SUFFER!"
DOOM AWAITS THEE!
Everything comes together! The Bhaalspawn Saga will NEVER end!
So hard Battle. Very very very good game :). Thanks for music.
A music worthy for the future lord of murder! I am delighted to see that Amelyssan's very soul is destroyed as i am becoming a god! Hahahahaha!!! :))
I wish some day the whole soundtrack of BG will re-created with real epic orchester in best quality..

SCS is dope af. Even after all these years it's some of the best pc d&d combat.

"Your life ends here!"
Vita, mortis, kadiok!
Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio!
The last word is definitely not kadiok. The words are all Latin, and kadiok isn't a word in Latin.
It's Vita Mortis Careo.
I need this but 10 min loop
