- We're back in the air and this time we're checking out Etihad Airways economy class! It was my first time travelling on Etihad Airways as I went from London to Abu Dhabi for the next adventure!
In today's video we take a look at the free amenities, the seat itself, in-flight entertainment and of course this is Manps On The Map so we gotta eat some food!

Thanks! The seats recline an okay amount…nothing more than standard for economy on any airline 👍

On Etihad Airways, the carry on luggage item is limited to 7 kilograms or 15.4 pounds from outbound flights from India. This is not a lot of weight since the luggage itself has its own weight (5 pounds plus in most cases). The check in process is not pleasant experience as the Etihad Airways employees from India try to implement this rule precisely via Indian culture

hey how is the customer service on this airline. Will they let you get away with 8kg cabin baggage,. Are they strict
Customer service is good from what I experienced...I had no issues. So when I flew they didn't weigh the cabin baggage that you take on the plane lol, but I can't speak for every check-in desk. Probably best to stick to the 7kg limit to be on the safe side!

I haven’t flown Qatar before but emirates is so good! I think I preferred Emirates over Etihad actually
According to rules we are only allowed one 7kg cabin bag but should we actually risk taking a laptop bag with it ? I heard that ethiad strictly doesn't allow that and cause trouble on the airport.
I think the rules have changed since I've travelled so I would follow the current Etihad rules so you don't have any problems...I wouldn't take the risk personally!

Hey Mary! You can check luggage allowance on the Etihad website (www.etihad.com/en-gb/fly-etihad/baggage). The website also says this "You can split your checked baggage allowance over multiple items and check in as many bags as you like within that allowance." So yep, you should be able to check-in 2 suitcases as long as the combined weight doesn't exceed 23kg!

The info was NOT great. It was super basic. And no one is making him spend his money to do this. That's ALL on him if he wants to do it.

How is the reclining seat?
It was pretty standard to be honest…reclines the same as any other economy seat
I loved the video but i have a question as i never travelled with etihad, for baggage allowance i have a quick question, do they allow laptop bags with the cabin bag and 2 check in bags? On website they show only one cabin bag is allowed but you showed that it is, Can you please help me with that?
I think go with what the website says! You can put your flight details in and it will tell you the allowance. Things have changed since this video was uploaded
i have the same question, i mean, the website says you are not allowed to bring a personal item. So does it mean that not even a small back bag with my laptop inside is allowed?
@@Travistabickle So the allowance has changed since I travelled so I would go with the website, meaning no not even a small laptop bag unless that is your only carry on. I just got back from travelling with Emirates and they had the same rule

Update in case someone needs the info: at the end I manage to get on the plane with my 7k personal item bag lol and no one say anything but they kept saying on the speaker it was not allowed but I got away with it. I wasn’t the only one but let me tell you, mine was heavy hahaha 😂

U mentioned that the total checked in allowance is 23kg , on their website they mentioned 40kg for economy, are you sure about the 23kg ?
I would check the website and put in your departing and arrival destination as it might vary. For example, on the website London to Abu Dhabi now says 20kg

No, i don't think so since checked luggage is usually included with a lot of tickets. I saw on the Etihad website some tickets can be 'hand baggage only' so it might be worth looking into that to see if your destination qualifies

No sadly not
CORRECTION: 0:23 Luggage Allowance - TWO 23 kg (2 x 23 = 46 kg) checked in bags + ONE 7 kg cabin baggage + ONE personal item like Laptop bag/back pack.
The luggage allowance depends on the departure and arrival destination so is not always the same. Allowance also changed since the upload of the video

@etihad They are doing some shady business with customers! They have a bug in their Etihad credit system where it set to expire UAE date & time and I recently lost over $1600 Etihad credit due to their software bug.

Etihad doesn't mention separate laptop bag on it's website and app. It says that laptop should be included in cabin baggage. Can you confirm how did you take laptop bag with you
I think the rules might've changed since I travelled. I'd go with what the Etihad website says currently which is that the laptops need to go in the cabin bag

Such a worst airlines, They paying this youtubers free seats for marketing but originally this Airline is worst. My family (1 adult 2 kids under 5) recently traveled JFK to AMD-India
1) they did not allowed handbagge to throw with checked baggage.
2) flight was delayed 4 hours.
3) out of 6 bags, 1 bag came at AMD.
Now calling at Etihad about bags no answers from them they don't now we have to airport for inquire which 2 hours away one way.( $200 a trip to check bag at AMD)
Such a worst experience.. specially with small kids...

The legroom is bad. You did not show it but I know. But Business is great. Economy is mediocre.
LOL...I'm not super tall so don't have major issues with legroom. I felt legroom wise it's all kinda the same for economy flights. I agree business class legroom is so good!

Etihad is cheaper. The service seems fine for what they offer. Obviously there are more luxurious airlines

The other point is the country does have a decent human rights policy . That to me is important . Most of the Airlines in that part of the world has not played its part in basic 'human rights ' . Look at the recent hanging inthat part of the world just for speaking out and protesting .
