I thought it was such a great suggestion of a name for this quilt. I just had Elonie and Chloe helping me with naming fabrics for a fabric line far in the future. I seem to always be in need of names! =)
Love your videos. I am really enjoying this Sew Along, doing a block from each quilt in the book. It is a great way to become familiar with the construction of the block for when making a quilt from the book. Not to mention the beautiful quilt we all will have at the end. I also am loving colors in the Buttercup and Slate collection.🥰❤️🧵🪡
Thank you so much Roberta!...I'm so glad you are enjoying it. =) And you're right, it does really help you get familiar with a lot of the blocks in the book.
I always enjoy your presentations! I especially admire your use of other designers fabrics as many block and pattern designers do not venture beyond their own fabrics. I too LOVE Tilda 💗💗
Beautiful quilt and of course love seeing a lot of Tilda prints that I have used and still have a good selection. Thank you so much for sharing your blocks. 👍❤️😊
Proposal is my favorite quilt in this book. I love the design and I think the Tilda fabrics made it so special. Now you’ve got me hooked on Tilda too ☺. I have loved making each of the blocks, and can see myself making several of the quilts in this book.
Hello Corey, I am Loving the design of this pattern. Now I feel even stronger after hearing your daughter coming up with the name, so sweet. 💞👏 Thank you for sharing, 💞 Chris
Wow, just came about your video at the right time. Thank you 😊. I feel like I've been going through that moment t just before death, where you see your whole life flash before your eyes. These past couple years has been an emotional rollercoaster. I have a strong intuition, and am aware of everything going on. It's hard, cause my family doesn't see it. I find it hard to deal with mean negative people/family. But like I said, and I'm sure a lot of people are going through this, because of the evolution, that we are judging ourselves for our past actions, and our words. She's that sound crazy!
I love this block Corey!! In fact I chose this quilt from the Oh, Happy Day! Book to make and I am almost finished!!! YAY!!! I just have to get my borders on. It was really fun to put together!! Thank you for the great tutorial!!! Your instructions are always so clear and super helpful!!!
😊 yippee skippie a block that I can show case the larger print of the fabric line that I’m using. I’m having SEW much fun with this sew along. Thanks Corey
Thank you! This is a beautiful block and I can’t wait to make it. Another crazy busy weekend/week so it may take me a couple weeks to get back to sewing. So thankful for your tutorials and the ability to come back and watch again when I get ready to sew. Have a blessed weekend!
Beautiful yet simple. I think one of the reasons your quilts are so beautiful is your taste in fabric combinations. You’re an excellent designer and thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much! I think there are so many wonderful fabrics out there. Mixing and matching was something that I had a little bit of trouble with when I first started making quilts. I remember picking out fabrics for the quilt my mom pieced when my husband and I got married and we spent hours! We will be married 25 years next month and my fabric mixing and matching has come a long way! Now I get the fun of mixing and matching and putting together whole lines of fabric...it's so much fun!
@@joyfulliving5157 Thank you!...I had to count it out--I knew we were getting close to 25. =) I have the hardest time keeping track of both my age and the number of years we've been married. 😂
Gosh u make putting blocks together look so easy, maybe that's why I love your videos! Thank u for helping all of us quilters learn new tips and techniques! I'm thinking that might b my favorite block, but all the blocks in your book are so pretty! I have always loved the snowball block, I made one years ago but gave away so now's my chance to start another one after we are finished with this sew along!!
@Luca Angelo I'd love that. I was born in Germany, Air Force Brat, lol, but have lived here in Alabama for the longest. Glad to meet you. We just recently lost our daughter and are in the works of planning her memorial so I haven't got started too much on sew along with Corey, the Oh Happy Day but I'm determined to finish. But u have a good day.
I always hope the tutorials help things look easier! Many quilt blocks aren't that tricky they just seem as if they might be. But, when you break it down into smaller pieces they are very doable.
When I first started watching I thought this would be difficult but it’s not! You’re a great teacher! The little tips you give during your presentation are just awesome.
I'm glad you thought so! I think that's the way with most quilt blocks, at first glance they might seem tricky but when broken down into little parts with some tips spread throughout they become much simpler!
Oh I love your Cozy Up too! I'm making the Jelly Sizzle from that fabric line. With Buttercup & Slate I'm making your Jelly Sticks and your sample blocks from your book and videos. Thank you SO MUCH! 😊🥰😊
it's obvious that you are feeling more comfortable in front of the camera! Good for you! It looks like you are having great fun--and I bet you are! Your shared sense of joy, is contagious to us all! Love this pattern, and I look forward to next time! :)
You are a great teacher and I eagerly await each new video. Please keep doing them! I’ve also learned a lot in how you choose fabrics for your projects. Thanks!
Last week I mentioned my favorite block and you were right more to come. I purchased Oh Happy Day and happy I am. Now definitely my favorite it is the Proposal can’t wait to create this beauty the soft colors caught my eye. ❤
so beautiful, I love this one. I've got my fabrics out and I'm ready to start choosing what goes where. By the way, when I play your videos and the little music comes on, I've been asking hubby "what does that mean?" and answering myself "Coriander Quilts!". Now he answers for me, it's the only quilty RUclips music he recognizes.
Alas, I am not participating in the quilt along… just relocated across the country and still setting up my sewing room, then I have 4 baby quilts to jump on… that said, this quilt made me immediately order the book! I like all the quilts/blocks I’ve seen thus far, and am really looking forward making these quilts! Thank you!
Thank you!...The Proposal quilt pattern is in the Oh, Happy Day! book. It is available in quilt shops right now. I also have signed copies available in my shop. You'll find the link in the description box.

Hey Corey, I have a question that's been bugging the beegeezies out of me so while on my mind I thought I'd get your opinion on it. I've always heard and I do this, wash all my fabric and iron before I start my project. Only because I've heard the darker colors would bleed on quilt if I needed to wash down the road if used a good bit. What is your thoughts on this? Thank you Tammy
You are going to find both answers depending on who you ask! I pre-washed when I began making quilts for the very reason you named and also to shrink the fabrics before working on the quilts. I no longer pre-wash and haven't for years. But, I do throw in several shout color catchers the first couple times I wash my quilts. It's the reds/purples/navies that tend to cause problems so if you use those colors a lot, you might be happiest pre-washing and/or if you don't always use quilt shop quality fabrics.
