You have the cutest personality, Corey! Such a fun video to wake up to. Coffee and Corey to start the day. LOL I had no idea you could purchase fat quarters from vintage sheets! Great idea!
I have so much fun with my little projects!...it was fun to share this with all of you! And yes!...vintage sheet fat quarters---they are so much fun to collect!
You are extremely fast sewist! Wow! It’s gorgeous and I love the simple design and all the colorful flowers. How beautiful. Reminds me of a beautiful spring day sitting in a field of wild flowers. Love!
I do sew pretty quickly!...years ago, for my first couple fabric lines when I had very tight deadlines, my mom would come over and do all of the ironing as I sewed and we could really get quilts done quickly that way! I was so happy with all of the pretty colors in these sheets...the finished quilt reminds me of a watercolor!
It's so much fun to share with all of you. =) To-do lists are my best friend....if I write it down the odds of it getting checked off my list is much higher. =)
I purchased this pattern. Love, love it. Started it right away using my scraps and those my quilting friends have given to me. It's together!!!! I made it 5 x 6 blocks and will donate it to a local church that will knot it for hospice. Definitely going to make Jelly Sticks again. Thank you, Corey!!!
I'm so glad that I still have so many strips left so I can make another something fun!...plus, when I was preparing for this video I found some more sheets that I'd like to add to my collection!...they are so much fun to collect.
I, too, collect vintage sheets for quilting. They are beautiful to work with and the colors and designs are so fun. When I use vintage sheets I know I'm making my grandmother's proud by being thrifty and resourceful.
As always, I enjoyed your cheerful voice and outlook. I liked the quilt and the format. I think that you showed enough of the construction process and talked about what you were doing and why. I didn't feel that it was a problem that we didn't see the sewing and pressing -- it is a simple pattern without a lot of matching seams. I loved the bright cheerful quilt top. You've made me think about what I have on hand that I could use with this pattern.
I'm so glad Sharon! As it wasn't a tutorial or teaching video, I didn't think all of the steps were necessary either. I was curious if that content would have been interesting to see so I'm glad you weighed in!
I love this video and the quilt top is amazing!, I do love watching speed cutting and sewing…it makes me realize what a sloth I am working on a project!! Sometimes just choosing a project is hard…but I have several in mind so I am off to sew!,,something!!!😅
My sisters and I used to have so much fun when the sheets were out on the line. We used to love playing "house" in the rows...each row was a different room in our pretend house. =) And we could tuck little treasures down in the corners of the fitted sheets...I bet my mom loved that! =)
Great video, Corey! Your videos always inspire me to head for the sewing room. You're always so cheerful, as are the fabrics that fill the shelves behind you. It is obvious that you love what you're doing. Please keep the inspiration coming!
What a fun video! I did not know that vintage sheet "collecting" was a "thing"! The bright colors and florals are reminiscent of sheets I had on my bed as a child. Thanks for sharing. The more you're able to share when you do things like this is always a possible learning opportunity, which I appreciate very much. Thanks for the inspiration and idea for a simple easy weekend project...when you're needing something quickly.
Such a pretty quilt! I made a Little Miss Sawtooth quilt from my vintage sheet stash but I can likely make your pattern too with my leftovers. Thx Cori! ❤ darling pattern.
Love this video. I made a quilt from 2 vintage sheet a couple of years ago. I just did the top and the bottom with two vintage sheets that coordinated, and quilted it as a cross-hatched design. It turned out great. I love it it is so soft, I use it every day on my bed. I am going to make one of these, it is beautiful. Thanks again
I absolutely love your videos! Being a new quilter I would’ve loved to have seen the sewing and ironing steps. I love learning new things during this quilting journey.
Thank so much for making an inspiring video with vintage sheets! I am an Etsy seller who specializes in vintage sheet fat quarter bundles, charm packs and yardage and had a customer reach out for fabric because of your video. I love to create custom bundles and have a big selection of bundles in curated colors too -- all washed and ready to sew with. Vintage sheets are the best!
Love the look of this quilt. Not into collecting random fabrics, but it would be awesome if you designed a fabric line like the vintage sheets that we could then buy as a jelly roll.
Have you seen Maureen McCormick's fabric lines for Moda? She's had two now...the second one will come out next year and they definitely have a vintage sheet sort of vibe. They are a bit of a spin off of her time on the Brady Bunch if you you remember the fabrics that might have shown up in that series.
@@CorianderQuilts Yes, I have seen MC's fabric line. It's great, but just a little too bright for me. I will be on the lookout for some fabric to make this quilt top, though.
Loved this video. What a great idea! I know I would have taken a lot longer, but that’s okay. 😁 The quilt looked beautiful. Hope we get to see it all finished.
I need to decide what I want to use for the backing. I can't decide if I want it to be a lighter weight quilt or a heavier (minky-backed) quilt. It would be so cozy either way!
Always enjoy your videos, Corey! Your fabrics (background shelves) are so pretty; your joy and enthusiasm infectious and uplifting!!! The Vintage Sheet quilt is a lovely project; those florals and colours brought back decades of memories!! Always ready for your next inspiring teaching/sharing video! Thank you and be well!
I think your quilt top is gorgeous, I love floral prints the scale and soft colours are beautiful. And not to forget the pattern also worked out great to show off the larger prints. I’d love to be able to buy some sheets that pretty for my bed, you can tell they’re vintage. Thanks so much for sharing. 👍❤️😊
Great video Corey! I too have a stack of sheets but not that many are prints. At some point I must have gotten rid of my flowery printed sheets. I have solid colors mostly, but I have lots ot jelly rolls that might work for this quilt. When jelly rolls first came out I bought them because I loved all of the colors and then couldn’t decide how to use them so they are just in my stash waiting to be a quilt. YES, I would like a little more detail of your sewing up your quilt top. I know that slows down the process itself but it doesn’t have to be the entire time of sewing, just starting the different steps maybe. There is just something magical about watching a quilt come to be. Thanks for this great idea. Another one to add to my ever growing list! 😊
Precuts can be a fun collection of their own as well...there's something so pretty about them sitting in your sewing room just waiting for that perfect project!
@@CorianderQuilts you think just like I do. That is too funny. Each one needs to become the best quilt it can be. It is sometimes tough matching the right precut with the best pattern! 😍

Loved watching this quick type of video. I don’t think most of us need the pressing and sewing info for a quilt like this. Very pretty! I love collecting things too! But then I can’t find them. Or worse can’t find them all 😮. Lovely pattern and lovely use of your stash. Your collection of florals made the pattern come to life! I am new to your channel and am sewing along with your QAL. Having too much fun!! Too bad I have to have a day job! I’d stay home and sew all day if I could!

I really enjoy your channel Corey, great content! The vintage sheets (🤯) made a lovely quilt top. With the easier pattern it was fun to see the process sped up, the twist using vintage sheets and the final quilt top all in same video! Thank you!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the format of the video. It was a new sort of video for me to film and I really enjoyed bringing everyone along for my sewing day!

So pretty. It reminded me of sorting patches for my Grandmother. That was always my job. I believe quilting is in my blood now. Watching and learning all about quilting. And as of today I still quilt with alot of love for my grandmother teaching me the skills I use today from so many years ago.
Yes, Corey, I would like to see your pressing techniques. Do you press open, to the side, with or without steam, and do you use starch...type and when. Pressing is a major factor in keeping the quilt blocks flat. I so enjoy your videos and always look forward to them!!! Donna
Thank you so much for weighing in Donna!...since this is an entertainment video rather than a teaching video, I wasn't sure how much people would want to see. =) It's been helpful to hear the different viewpoints! And to answer your questions... I prefer to press to the side but will press open if the block needs it. Always with steam (unless paper piecing). And pre-starching fabrics only for smaller blocks...I use Faultless (but I'm not locked into a specific Faultless starch--just what is available locally at the time I purchase it).
Hi Cory, I recognize some of the sheets . The quilt is very pretty, it looks fresh and spring like. Thank you for sharing. Hope you have a great weekend.
I love the older vintage floral print sheets. And, yes, they are hard to find I am drawn to the new floral print sheets. Your quilt is beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
I enjoyed seeing this one. I had no idea vintage sheet collecting was even a thing. I did recognize a couple prints in there. Your quilt turnout so cute and I bet it is super soft! Thanks again for sharing your talent. I hope your sweet family is feeling much better. Have a wonderful day!
I am always on the lookout in thrift stores but as I said, I have never had any luck!...now Etsy...I can always find pretty ones there! They are so much fun to collect. I did have some pretty long chain piecing going on! And it is such a soft quilt. =) My girls are on the mend...my oldest is back to feeling great...my youngest who started with it later is doing much better too!...thank you Lynn!
How cute is this. I love these fabrics. I may have some from when I was a little girl floating around someplace. This would be fun to make. Thanks for sharing.
Oh how fun! I too collect vintage sheets ❤ I’ve done one quilt so far with them. I find they scream at me to be used as backings from time to time. I did enjoy this quick project video, I’d love to see more.
Great video! Really enjoyed it. I like that you talk about fabric placement, etc. Lots of good tips. I also really appreciate that you always seem happy to be here, sharing with us. It sparks enthusiasm. Thanks!
This was a fun video. The simple block was quite beautiful with the fabrics you picked. Would love to see more like this. I myself do not need to see all the pressing tips and detailed sewing instructions since I'm not a newbie. Thank you!
I love this video and your thought process of border or no border. Your cheerful and positive attitude shines throughout your videos. I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much Theresa!...I ended up adding a white border just today. =) I'm going to be sharing it in the UFO/WIPs video I hope to film this week. =)
I love this! I had never even thought of vintage sheets, but they look fabulous in this pattern, which really lets them shine. More videos like this would be great!😍
This was such a fun one, Corey! ☺️ I'll be interested to see what you use for backing and binding - especially the binding, since there's so much color in the quilt top. I do like the no-border look on this one! 👍
I'm not sure at all what I'll use for either! Someone early mentioned a green gingham for a border and that got me thinking about a green gingham for a binding...I think that would be pretty. And I'm still undecided about the backing...heavyweight (like minky??) or lightweight. I've been going back and forth!
@@CorianderQuilts Since you've been collecting the sheets for so long now, I say take your time deciding and get it just the way you want it to be! What a fun project!
I'm so excited to see this because I purchased your jelly sticks pattern and am making it with the buttercup and slate jellyroll! I have plans to make it in a couple weekends when I go away for a crafty weekend with my sister and a couple friends! Thanks for sharing ☺️

It was nice to see that a quilt top can be made so quickly…I am a turtle compared to all you quick like a bunny sewist! I imagine you had some pretty long chain piecing going on though.
I thought there might be some familiar fabrics in there for some. =)
I love how this quilt turned out. You got me thinking about what I have for jelly rolls. I may need to get this pattern. Thanks for sharing. 😊
You are so welcome!...it was fun to see how different it looked in these fabrics as opposed to the original Buttercup & Slate!
I enjoyed! Very spring like quilt
It is a very springy quilt!
Oh how fun! I too collect vintage sheets ❤ I’ve done one quilt so far with them. I find they scream at me to be used as backings from time to time. I did enjoy this quick project video, I’d love to see more.
They are so much fun to collect!
Great video! Really enjoyed it. I like that you talk about fabric placement, etc. Lots of good tips. I also really appreciate that you always seem happy to be here, sharing with us. It sparks enthusiasm. Thanks!
Thank you Kelly!...I am always happy to be sharing with all of you. =) It's so much fun to get to chat with other quilters. =)
Can't wait to see it completely finished. It looks like a perfect nap on the couch quilt.
I loved this video! Thanks. Your quilts always make me happy!
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous!!! I love the vintage fabrics!
Thank you! 😊
Really enjoyed this quilt.
I'm so glad!--thank you!
Cute and beautiful vintage sheets!
I had so much fun collecting them Becky!...I saw some more on Etsy this week that I'd like to add to my collection.
This was a fun video. The simple block was quite beautiful with the fabrics you picked. Would love to see more like this. I myself do not need to see all the pressing tips and detailed sewing instructions since I'm not a newbie. Thank you!
I'm glad you thought it was a fun video Cindy!...I enjoyed sewing and sharing with all of you. =)
Such a great idea. Those printed sheets are so pretty
This was such a fun project to work on!
Thanks for sharing- it’s good to see how simple patterns come together!
It was fun to share this video--thank you!
Loved your video. Hope you do some more of this type and possibly include some sewing and putting the blocks together
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think it would be fun to do more of them. =)
They are my fav..and I found a beautiful lavender flat sheet I will use for backing
That sounds wonderful!
Loved this! I inherented my Moma's collection of vintage sheets. I have added a few. This looks like an easy project.
What a wonderful collection to inherit!
I love this! I had never even thought of vintage sheets, but they look fabulous in this pattern, which really lets them shine. More videos like this would be great!😍
I had so much fun collecting them over the years...it was fun to finally use them in a quick project. =)
Now you have me searching Etsy for vintage sheets, and oh what fun it is!!!
They are so much fun to collect!...I so enjoy adding pretty new ones to my stash. =)
Beautiful! Great scrap buster pattern!
I think so too!
And it was so much fun to see those cheery sheet patterns 🌼🌸
Oh yes!...it should come together quickly for you! Have fun on your quilty retreat!
That is a great quilt to gift! Love it!
It would be...it's quicker to make and it's such a nice size. =)
Thanks for the great video. My grandmother used sheets as backing for her quilts and I think I saw one or two familiar prints in your collection!
I'm debating if I'd like to purchase another sheet to use as that backing...either that or minky. Do I want lightweight or heavyweight?...I haven't decided!
What a pretty quilt. I have this pattern and an overflowing 2” strip buckets. Hmmm ❤
It was so fun to stitch up!
I love this kind of video. The prints are very reminiscent of my childhood
I thought many people might recognize some of them!
Loved seeing this episode!! What a great idea😊
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I am new to quilting and love your straight forward explanations of everything. Thank you 😊
So pretty! Love the vintage prints!!❤
They were so much fun to collect!
