Ok, so maybe I'm mistaken here but look at the way the humbuckers reflect the light. It LOOKS like he left the clear wrap/covering that is on them when shipped... (edit) it looks like he did because you can see the square outline of the protective layer on both humbuckers.
Perhaps Corey is ‘paying his dues’ in Rock & Roll, a traditional right of passage, as a professional performer he is already a Master. He is very generous for sharing, and we have much gratitude. :)
I assume he still has a lot of issues from the combination of being child star and everything that went along with that, and the stuff with Michael Jackson. It's quite sad really, but generally speaking, he does seem to be having fun with it at least, and that is what matters most. But, I have seen other videos where he goes off on either a sound person or a band member when something was not going well, so he does seem to be taking it very (too) seriously as well. So, I am guessing that, in his head, what he is doing is better than it really is.

Same with a lot of the lead guitar guys back then. And the ones with the biggest egos were a dime a dozen back then. Great music though

I talked to Corey during the lockdown with Covid when he was broadcasting on periscope from his home with his wife. He was very pleasant as was his wife. A bit weird maybe and off the wall about stuff, but ok. I can tell you one thing that I do know about him. He did not go down to the Crossroads at Clarksdale. ! 😆
I played that same exact guitar solo.....when I was thirteen and got my first guitar. Just shred and hit any frets your fingers can find as fast as you can.
He’s got good taste in guitars with that purple burst EVH. Got the D tuna and the kill switch happening. I don’t care if he can play or sing. I’m a long time fan of his movies. Besides, hes having a ball, opening for limp bizkit, and getting paid. So good for him.

Okay, being honest? This really isn't that bad. Clearly he's a beginner, but he also clearly knows it, and he isn't trying to play beyond his abilities. For a beginner, trying to play and sing at once is a big hurdle, so playing a simple one-string riff _really is_ the right call. And obviously it's not _good,_ but for a song based off a one-string riff, it could sound a HELL of a lot worse than this. Corey is cringe beyond belief, sure, but let's not act like this is on par with Angelic 2 the Core. He's also *_clearly_* unwell so let's not begrudge him having a bit of fun - he clearly needs more of it.

I talked to Corey during the lockdown with Covid when he was broadcasting on periscope from his home with his wife. He was very pleasant as was his wife. A bit weird maybe and off the wall about stuff, but ok. I can tell you one thing that I do know about him. He did not go down to the Crossroads at Clarksdale. ! 😆

I played that same exact guitar solo.....when I was thirteen and got my first guitar. Just shred and hit any frets your fingers can find as fast as you can.

I've met Cory on a few occasions at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset strip, and he's actually a pretty cool guy.
As a guitarist for the better part of 25 years now, I was so proud of myself when I wrote a song that sounded much like this after about a week of playing.

Okay, being honest? This really isn't that bad.
Clearly he's a beginner, but he also clearly knows it, and he isn't trying to play beyond his abilities. For a beginner, trying to play and sing at once is a big hurdle, so playing a simple one-string riff _really is_ the right call. And obviously it's not _good,_ but for a song based off a one-string riff, it could sound a HELL of a lot worse than this.
Corey is cringe beyond belief, sure, but let's not act like this is on par with Angelic 2 the Core. He's also *_clearly_* unwell so let's not begrudge him having a bit of fun - he clearly needs more of it.
I am convinced that is Wes Borland in one of his costumes jacking around before the show.
