Happy New Year Matt & Keith. Regarding the Lithium Battery, Inverter & Solar question from your listener, it is really important to ensure your Inverter is correctly setup. If the Inverter is trying to draw more from the battery than it was designed to give or if the Inverter (which will be the charger when on mains, usually) is trying to charge at a rate higher than the battery can support, you will get problems. Most Inverters will need setting up via software or dip-switches (or both) to ensure they are paired with the battery type & its particular specifications. Once again, another instance where an installer without the knowledge can leave you with a system that simply isn't set correctly for safe operation over the long term. Solar Charge Controllers (MPPT) devices can also need specific settings that are appropriate to the type of battery you are using.
Hi Matt, Happy New year to you both and the team. Sadly I’ve been distracted for these past couple of vlogs. I’ve been struggling to unhitch your insight into Keith’s “potential” towball cover use. Hopefully I won’t have to tow around that image for much longer. I think celebrating tonight may help 🍾🥂🥂 😅😂😉.
Great podcast and You Tube, love the content- keep it going. I have been looking at buying either a MH or Caravan in 25. Listening to Sarah footed on the video ‘Inside the Industry’ I most certainly not buy from southwest motorhome a as she just want to sell £100k plus. During this climate and clearly all manufacturers looking to minimise their costs, surely dealers should work with what buyers want not dictate what van such as Mercedes, very disappointing from a dealer, won’t be going there!
There’s lots to Choose from out there and SW Motorhomes do have lower priced secondhand models too. Dealers stock a range of new and used but new is designed and built by the manufacturer to their specifications. Sometimes dealers have choice of chassis and what extras but the manufacturer designs the product. Consumers drive demand tho. Thanks for commenting
All the best to you both :) Have to say though but I don't agree that campsites are not having a negative impact, they 100% are the difference in price when going to independent sites is more often than not much cheaper and their website are more user friendly, if it wasn't for the CL & CS sites along with their respective rallies we'd have sold our motorhome. The club sites are so expensive now, resulting in far less pitches sold, I'd prefer if they ceased their free night offers and other discounts and just reduced pitch costs overall. We're looking at going away on 2nd Jan, £174 for 4 nights, 2 Adults, club site, private site £112 for 4 nights both Fully serviced. Can't be right that a club site that we pay to be members is £62 more expensive 😢
That’s very interesting thank you. But I still stand by my view that campsite fees are not the entire problem and are stopping sales. We use campsites occasionally but a lot of BritStops too. People are blaming the one issue of campsite fees on the market slow down. I’d say if a site is too expensive for you then yes, go elsewhere. Like you we love CL and CS sites too. Quieter the better! Thanks again for commenting.
All the best guys, I agree EV M/H's are a long way off and given the issues my neighbour is having with his premium brand electric car recall and the fact his car insurance company won't cover him now and his house insurance is void if the car causes a fire then I think we are even further away. I also hope all the people who lost their jobs this year have found new employment. Cheers K.
Thanks for your comment and good wishes. Sounds like your neighbour needs to rethink their transport! That’s mad! This is a huge topic and one I’m watching closely
Great video, EV is a big con, 2030, is six years away ,so it's a nonsense for cars, let alone vans, a certain you tuber has just done the NC 500, in a ID Buzz ,very expensive ,total nonsense
Yes Steve had a great time but all he seemed to do was talk recharging and eat Ginsters 🤣🤣🤣. It’s an exciting time to be alive and to see these changes. They are coming… Thanks for watching and happy 2025
Agreed! Have you watched Harry's Garage? He has now produced 2 videos where he has been to JCB's works, the really interesting bit is that JCB have already developed and installed (several hundred), HYDROGEN engines! This is a must watch for anybody who despairs at the foolishness of electric vehicles. These hydrogen powered machines are already working on construction sites, and of course, as hydrogen is produced from water - H2O, the only emission is totally harmless for the environment!
Happy new year guys looking forward to the 2025 podcast 🎉🎉
Happy new year!! Thanks for watching and commenting

Thanks for some great advice. Really appreciate it. I always suggest a professional installer is used. Have a great new year and thanks for watching

We bought a Westfalia Sven Hedin earlier this year, and the dealer has taken the decision to install trackers and immobiliser as standard.
Sounds like a sensible offer from the dealer! Thanks for sharing your experience and watching
Happy new year guys 🎉
Same to you and thank you!
Trackers: I insure with Caravan Guard, and they give you 28 days grace to have it fitted, so no problem picking it up.
That’s great to know. I’ve heard of CG and other insurers giving 7 days but also some saying none! Thanks for commenting and a happy new year

Yes been following this development for some time. JCB have a huge amount invested in Hydrogen. I think it will make up part of the solution
